My baby bebe is poorly sick :( Raging temperature that is barely coming down with calpol/ibuprofen and now she is refusing food AND drink. Desperately trying to get fluids in her but I can't force her! Temp was 39.8 after Calpol this morning & God knows what it was at 5.30 when she went to the loo. It almost hurt me to touch her she was so hot! She is curled up under a blanket asleep on the sofa...she never does this! :(

Planning a BBQ again this evening but may have to take DD to out of hours GP if she doesn't improve. Hate her being ill, feel useless! :(

Just had a 1/2 size banana sandwich & 4 small crackers.

Goodness knows what dinner will be!

Can you have a look in her mouth Bebe? Does her Tongue look odd? I only say that because scarlet fever is going round here. Mine had it,Years ago, DS was a sim age to yours and they were generally very unwell, temps that calpOl etc didn't seem to touch and skin that was sore. You get a very very sore throat with sf.

Take her to the GP if she can't drink anything.

Thanks Piste. She has perked up a bit now. I''ll try & have a look in her mouth. She has sipped some juice & eaten a handful of grapes. So feel a bit more relaxed! :)

smokin and i had a lovely lunch we did not eat toffee sundaes we did not oggle men

there was some veeeeeeeeeeeeeery cute blokes near us - smokin and i picked one each and 3 left over

twas a fabulous lunch. sunshine, sundaes and sexy men. All make for a good Sunday in my book!!!

Needless to say diet starts again tomorrow......

Bebe, glad to hear DD has perked up a bit. Hope she's ok - I hate temperatures and not being able to work out whats causing them, make me panic slightly. Hope she has a restful night.

Well DD has drunk her milk before bed but not eaten anything (apart from about 6 grapes & 3 crisps) since breakfast (small bowl of shreddies). Her temp seems to be under control at last. But she's still not 'right' but hopefully on the mend from whatever it is/was!

Come back all I said about DD! :( Up 5 times with her in the night & her temp was over 40 at 2.30 this morning despite Calpol! :(

I am knackered today! She wasn't that bad even as a newborn!!

Sooooooooooooooo I have a feeling today might be a 'bad' diet day! I need stuff...bad stuff!

Giving the docs a miss til after lunch, Monday mornings are awful round there!

Her temp is finally down to just below 38 and she is eating some lunch which is the first thing shes eaten since some the 6 grapes she had yesterday afternoon! Has taken all morning & having the windows open & calpol & ibuprofen to get her temp down to anywhere near 'normal'! Poor baby! :(

Laughalot - I so need to tidy my tip house. And finish painting the garden wall. Managed to get one load of washing on & change DDs sheets before she started screaming & wanting me to hug her. Now pinned to the sofa!

Oh bebe hope she is better soon, I must say someone mentioned on here about scarlet fever my ds had it last year he was the one who spread it around his school he was very ill with that and a mega temp years ago it was very dangerous to get it. I ended up getting it and boy it was so painful I spent days in bed my throat killed it was so sore. So hope its not that the only good thing for me I wasnt eating so lost some weight

I don't think it's scarlet fever. She doesn't have the rash.

Typically she has perked right up again and temp is the lowest it's been. So now not sure what to do. If I ring the docs and she is like this I'll feel guilty for wasting their time, but if I don't ring coz she's fine now and then she gets worse again (like she did yesterday) than I'll be really cross with myself!

It was me who mentioned scarlet fever, and you don't have to have a rash, mine had this terrible sore throat ( DD can still remember it nearly 9 years on ) and sky high temperature. It may also be just an unspecified viral thing as she is up and down, scarlet fever is bacterial and they just are very ill. Has she had chicken pox ? It might be brewing? That's the other thing round here.

Docs to be on the safe side.

It's the tongue that holds the greatest indication I believe
