Low carb but filling breakfast - can anyone give me some ideas?

I am trying to cut out bread and cereal. I usally have toast/scrambled egg on toast or mini shredded wheat for breakfast.

I eat far too much bread and I think that's the cause of my weightgain and the bloated tummy I seem to get after breakfast.

I really need a breakfast that's going to fill me up as I'm active in the morning. Have tried fruit & yoghurt but just find it so boring and never stick to it.

Thanks.

This morning had a smoked salmon omelette.

If you want to make yoghurt more interesting/filling try greek natural yoghurt with muesli and blueberries.

Also sometimes have fish, microwave a couple of those frozen cod squares from tesco.

Or try dukan galettes (panckes made from eggs/oatbran/yoghurt) with a protein topping. Lovely topped with smoked salmon and low fat cream cheese.

If you have toast try the burgen soya and linseed bread.

I have an apple, some shreddies (17g) and a mushroom or bacon omelette with potato in it. Fills me up nicely for the morning but obviously still some carbs just no bread! Inspired by slimming world

Thanks for replies.

I will definitely go for the salmon/mushroom omelettes. The greek natural yoghurt with museslli and blueberries sounds good too. And I will try the burgen soya and linseed bread, have just googled it, sounds good.

Nette - I've had to wean myself off Shreddies! I absolutely love them but was having a huge bowl for breakfast and also for supper up until a few months ago Smile

At 8.30 I had two pieces of bacon and a ripe avocado. Delish, and hours later I'm still not hungry.

Other best breakfasts: parma ham/mozzarella/tom salad, poached eggs w spinach or fried mushrooms.

I sometimes make muffins using eggs, ground almonds, bit of olive oil and cheese/spring onion/whatever else is lying around.

Cutting bread/cereal and other processed carbs has been quite an eyeopener for me. I seem to be liberated from those endless cravings. Astonishing.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I don't eat meat.

Mozzarella & tom salad is a great idea. Never thought of having it for breakfast before, but why not?
