My fitness pal... Im really finding it hard to eat enough calories!

I am using myfitnesspal.co.uk to try and shift the flab but I just cannot eat 1200 calories a day! Even putting in what I would normally eat when not dieting isn't resulting in anymore than 1000 calories, so why the hell am I overweight? Maybe the site is wrong, I am weighing everything so im putting in the right quantities.

Here is what I ate yesterday which resulted in about 800 caloreis when fatored in a 30 minute walk for excersise.

Breakfast I struggle to eat but make my self eat a medium Bannana and Apple and I also have a mug of coffee with skimmed milk. and a glass of water to ward of headaches.

Lunch, I have a whole red pepper and about6 cherry tomatoes with 50g of reduced fat hummus with a diet coke and glass of water.

Dinner, a large chicken breast grilled with loads of steamed carrots and broccoli. with a coffee.

I drink water during the day.

DO I need to eat the same amount of food but with a higer calorie or just force more food down me?
WHat I'm eating fills me up and I think i would strugg;e to eat more.

Whats the deal?

wow - I would die eating that little!! but it is very low in carbs so how about adding some brown rice, oat cakes or wholemeal bread to lunch?

Maybe a few almonds in teh afternoon or a some yoghurt and fruit? why not some carb with dinner - there does not seem to be much volume of food here - are you sure you can not eat more ?

I guess I could if i really tried hard but not alot more, thats a huge amount of food to me! I used to be really, really skinny though so maybe it stems from that.
I don't purpously avoid carbs, that is just wait I ate yesterday, I do sometimes have a pastrami and tomato panini for lunch.

I still dont understand how im still so fat though if that isnt even a lot fo food!

Im 5ft and weigh 10st 11!

I only have a little waist though but big wide hips and bum and gigantic boobs!

thats why you are overweight - you aren't getting anywhere near enough calories! Your body is going into starvation mode, which means its holding onto everything it gets - try and find little ways to up your intake... move to semi milk? A slice of toast at some point? or maybe some pitta with that lunch?

Just a 200 or so extra calories might make a huge difference, and that could be something simple like a slice of bread with something on

if you are going shopping you need to be thinking about calcium too :) women need a fair bit of calcium to protect our bones when we are older

so maybe yoghurts / cheeses if you aren't keen on milk

How about some exercise, ideally in morning to kickstart your metabolism. Also have protein at every meal as that also kickstarts metabolism.

I installed myfitness pal on my blackberry yesterday and ate exactly 1200 calories (am doing lowish carb) - this is what I ate:

breakfast 2 eggs, 50g salmon
lunch 130g drained tuna, 250g fat free fromage frais
snack: slice 5% fat "hard" cheese
dinner: salad (big bowl including some cherry tomatoes & cucumber), steamed brocoli & mushrooms, 200g griddled chicken breast.

I think you are using coffee to supress your appetite.
