I've so far lost 17lb in the past couple of months. I did start up a thread to help me but I can't find it, so here begins the new one.

I still have another 5.5 stone to lose. I kid you not.

I've lost the 17lb by cutting down, concentrating on what I'm eating and portion sizes and actually attempting to eat breakfast even when it makes me sick.

Today I did slimfast and did not like it. So tomorrow is:

Porridge with skimmed milk.
Weight watchers wrap filled with ham, humous and beetroot.
Carrot sticks and humous or rice cakes and humous or snackajacks.
Raclette for tea, but I'll make sure I only have a bit.

I also need to drink way more water than I do.

So tell me your woes, how much you want to lose and how you're going to go about it. Let's us fatties bond :D

I've got 5 stone to lose in total, but would be happy with two by October.
I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week for about 6 weeks, really enjoying it.
I have toned up quite a bit and lost inches, but no weight yet! Feeling so much better though. Feel really proud when I leave the gym having done some weights and 45 mins on the cross trainer.

Next I need to tackle my food. Very hard with two small food vacuums boys and a perma-skinny husband who eats like a horse!

MrsSalvatore · 20/03/2011 21:00

hi TaU!!! i'll come and join u in my misery!!! I have 5 stone to lose and am goin to slimming world to do it! I've got 1/2lb to go to get my stone as i started out really well but then went for a girl's weekend and went off the rails and although i havent put any back on i messed around and have stayed the same for 3 weeks before finally beginning to lose again last tuesday!!!

I have also taken up zumba AND I LOVE IT!!!! so much infact that i did a 3 hour marathon on friday night for comic relief! fingers crossed this has helped me lose this week!!! xx

TotallyandUtterly · 20/03/2011 21:08

Ooo you both sound very active. I try to get out walking with my two, but work a lot and also have the same problem of DH being a skinny horse.

Can't afford the gym although I'd love to go but intend to go on a big long walk tomorrow.

We're all around the 5 stone mark which is good.

Shall we record weekly losses on here? Maybe every Monday?

I'll join you if that's OK. I started July last year and have lost 3.5 stone and am going to lose a further 3 stone 11 pounds. Have just done the Shred for the first time and need to sleep !

TotallyandUtterly · 20/03/2011 21:10

What's the Shred?

Well done on such a huge loss!!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 20/03/2011 21:30

Thank you. It's the 30 Day Shred with Gillian whatshername off the US Biggest Loser. I'll decide in the morning whether to do it again depending on whether I can move.

Walking is great, free and makes you feel better being in the fresh air. I've recently started swimming once a week which I really enjoy and find I lose well on weeks where I have done a fair bit of gardening. Am going to dust my bike off soon and give that a go.

TeamLemon · 20/03/2011 21:45

I got a special offer at the gym. £12 a month, fixed for 3 years. It's not a swanky place, but they are very supportive and friendly.

I'm try to eat low GI, but I'm going to try cutting down on carbs and upping my protein. Nothing too drastic, but worth a try!

Haribojoe · 21/03/2011 11:30

Can I join you.

I managed to lose a couple of stone through breastfeeding just after DS3 was born last year but gradually the weight is creeping back on and I REALLY want to lose it.

I need to lose 4-5 stone so am in the same boat as you lovely ladies.

Am going to stop eating junk in the week and am going to start using my wii fit again, have realised that with 3 DS and limited budget the gym just isn't going to happen at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well today Smile

MrsSalvatore · 21/03/2011 16:58

Hi to everyone who's joined!! im up for a group "weigh-in" on a monday TotallyandUtterly! How shall we do it, like weight loss this week then cumulative loss?

Well i dont mind tellin you that my starting weight was 15 stones exactly and this week (Monday 21st March) I weigh in at 14st 0.5lbs (-2.5lbs*-13.5lbs)

Really lookin forward to zumba tonight, ive invested in some Reetone trainers (the ones that apparently shape your legs and bum) so we shall see!! im hoping for serious buns of steel by the summer Grin

TotallyandUtterly · 21/03/2011 18:14

The list begins:
MrsSalvatore- starting weight:15 stones, (Monday 21st March) I weigh in at 14st 0.5lbs (-2.5lbs*-13.5lbs)
TotallyAndUtterly- A loss of 19lb (not brave enough to put my weight yet)

Welcome to HariboJoe. Well done on the loss.

I never managed the walk today, but I'm off tomorrow so will be walking galore Grin

Haribojoe · 21/03/2011 19:41

I weigh 16st 10 1/2 lbs (was 17st 2lb before DS3 so have managed to keep off 5 1/2lb)

Eating has been okay today, not brilliant but no sweets, chocolate or takeaways.

Walked the afternoon school run pushing the pram with DS 2 (3yrs) on the buggy board most of the way so should have burnt some calories.

MrsSalvatore · 21/03/2011 20:39

fantastic ladies!!! this will help me motivate myself im sure

I have to say zumba with the reetones on was hardcore the legs are killer lol!

TeamLemon · 21/03/2011 20:47

Ok, I weigh 99kg. not sure what that is in stone, scales are busted!

MrsSalvatore · 21/03/2011 20:52

99kg is 15st 8.5lbs hun x

TotallyandUtterly · 22/03/2011 21:08

I did the stupid thing and reweighed myself today (Before a poo, sod the TMI) and I had put on a pound. Hmm. So I did slimfast today. Tonight I had a raclette tea and a weight watchers eclaire. Not ideal, but better than usual Grin.

Also went on a big walk with the babies and we all had fun so that was good.

Zumba in reetones sounds absolutely mental Grin good on you though!!

Hope next Monday to have a 5lb loss... not sure whether that's a reasonable goal or not, but we shall see.

How has everyone got on this weekend? Weigh in day tomorrow and I went out last night and had a big fat italian and then drinks. Oh and a pudding. Soooo.... don't think that 5lb will have gone anywhere Grin.

Everyone else doing ok?

OP posts:
chimchar · 27/03/2011 10:12

i was at 13stone....have lost about 3/4 of a stone in about 8 weeks so am now about 12st 4. i am being suitably approximate because i have really old, crap scales which are not very accurate!

4 years ago, i lost 3 stone with weight watchers and got down to just under 10 stone. i felt fantastic. kept the weight off for over 2 years, but after quite a shitty time with a few traumatic events, i was comforted by my best friend...cake!
Wink

soooo. now am thoroughly miserable with the way i feel and look and am getting back on track. i'm trying simply to eat well and keep down my intake of crap.... could really do with something more formal, but cant cope with it at the mo.

i'm up for a monday weigh in.

is it ok to join you all?

chocolatespiders · 27/03/2011 16:46

hello all..... hope this is the last weight loss thread i join on Mumsnet!!!! I never stick to it but i so need to... I eat like a pig and look like one to, i weigh 16.12 stone Shock I need to lose at least 3.5 to be slightly happier. but i eat everything in my sight and dont stop .

I plan to have small breakfast (was thinking a slim fast shake but may rethink)
Banana at 11ish
Lunch will be covent garden soup with pitta bread.
Afternoon after work with have an Alpen light bar (my new favourite friend)
And dinner will be Quorn sausages and loads of veg

TeamLemon · 27/03/2011 21:14

Had a bad week on the exercise front - really busy at work, and DH has been quite stressed with his work, so only made it to the gym once.
Also not been very careful about what I've eaten.
I am not expecting much when I get on the scales tomorrow!

Anyway, tomorrow is another week and another chance to work at it!

chimchar · 28/03/2011 08:23

ahhh. shit. just weighed. nothing off. Sad

i FEEL thinner though. really, i do. i think its going in the right direction. may dust off my wii fit and weigh on that....i'll have to create a new profile though...not been on it since 10 stone something. it'll shout at me!!!!

hows everyone else got on?

Haribojoe · 29/03/2011 07:50

Weighed 16st 5 1/2 lb yesterday. 5lbs down! Think some of it must be water retention as that is a lot of weight but I'm going to use it to spur me on to greatness this week!

Am going to walk the school run there and back today, might even try and fit in a swim on Thursday.

Hope everyone is having a good week {smile}
