Should I GI?

Hello hello!

I would like to lose about 1 stone before my wedding and my dress fitting is in June I think.

Is a low GI diet the way forward? I think actually, my main issue is chocolate/biscuits/cake. The latter two at work (people are ALWAYS bringing cake and biscuits in!) and the former is a pretty consistent craving i've had since I was born pretty much!
Oh and I haven't been getting much excercise lately but I have just discovered Zumba classes are in my area so I hope to change that somewhat!

I have cheerios for breakfast which is pretty bad (used to be much, much worse) and have discovered that having eggs in the morning is actually acceptable, I reckon I could make that change but not sure what else to do so guidance would help me I think.

So, should I do the GI diet?

ah, apparently nutella and milk chocolate is low GI. My achilles heel and i've been given the green light!

This possibly isn't going to work for me. I'd be eating nutella all day long. (at least i'd die happy though right? Grin)

If you want to loose weight on a low GI diet, you need to restrict calories as well, because as you have identified there is lots of very calorific foods that are low GI.

Anyway I think GL (Holford diet) is way forward rather than GI diet.

I can't recommend it enough! I lost 4.5 stone using the GI (and exercise) and have more or less kept it off for 4 years. I've basically continued to follow the GI principles and don't think if it as a diet - just the healthiest way to eat.
