12 weeks post pregnancy, too early?

Hi,

I'm desperate to get back into exercise - just for myself really, no pressure from anyone else. I've just bought the Claire Nasir workout DVD but not sure if I should be doing all the stomach crunches etc which she does, does anyone know if it's safe 12 weeks on? I was given the all clear at the 6 week check at doctors but don't know if I need a "rec check"??

Thanks!

Emma

Exercise can be done from 6 weeks.

In terms of stomach crunches, it might be too early as you need to wait until your stomach muscles come together again. I went to the gym from 6 weeks and got one of the instructors to have a feel every so often - it took quite a while (several months) before they thought ok. If you do too early can do permanent damage so be careful. TBH I don't think GP the best place to ask.

In the meantime pull your stomach muscles in whilst standing.
