I've just read on another forum that bananas are synned on slimming world. This is the first I've heard of it. Anyone else know anything about this?

not as far as I know - only needs syns if it is cooked or blended.

NewPatchesForOld · 11/02/2011 12:34

Ah, ok. So if you put bananas into banana cake it'd be synned, but eating them raw is ok?

I used to be a SW consultant - bananas are not synned but SW says best not to eat more than one a day as they are quite high on the GI level.

Right, haven't been told that in class. That's handy to know, thanks.

And you cant mash them, or (like any fruit) blend them
Never been told to stick to one a day, but it kinda makes sense

Also used to be an SW consultant and was always told if something was free, it was free, no restrictions!

NewPatchesForOld · 14/02/2011 14:18

Anita...I have to admit I have never heard of a restriction on bananas. It's classed as free on the website and in the books...surely it would be noted somewhere if it was otherwise?

I suppose the only thing they say is 'eaten in normal proportions' dont they- like where people are eating 6 bananas and 6 mullerlights a day on top of normal food ....

Joby1970 · 15/02/2011 13:01

Maybe its just the old school way - I was a consultant in the 90's - but it was the first thing we were told to check if someone had stuck to the plan otherwise
