did anyone find that WW just didn't work for them?

I know this sounds ridiculous but I just don't think WW works for me. 3 of us joined together, the other 2 girls do no exercise, eat take aways at wkend and are steadily losing every week - think they have lost a stone each now.

I have lost 3lbs, maintained and for the last 2 wks put on 1lb each week. I do LOADS of exercise, don't eat out or takeaways and stick to my points....just don't think it works for me.

I am on anti depressants and think this is having a big effect on my weight loss.

I'm not looking for people to tell me where I'm going wrong - just wondering if anyone else has found it just isn't for them?

How much do you have to loose? I have never done it but not sure it would work to get the last stone off.

Why not ask the person in charge at your meeting why she thinks its not working?

have got 3 stone to lose, my 2 friends who are also going, 1 needs to lose 1.5stone and the other needs to lose 10stone and both are losing 1 to 2lbs a week...

have asked the leader and she said i eat too much cheese, even though it's in my point allowance...so how come other people are drinking and eating take aways within their points allowance and losing weight but i'm doing neither of those things but apparently it's the cheese that's cocking it all up for me! grrr...

lol - got me off on a rant now...

i works if you track really obsessively. you need to weigh everything and be really honest with yourself. it is hard losing weight esp. if you are feeling low anyway.

all diets are basically the same - eat less calories that your body burns. i am currently losing 1 lb a week on ww which is slow but better than nothing.

The unfortuanate fact of life is that different people have different metabolisms. eg I am 5 foot 4 inches and initally had 3 stone to loose. Have been steadily loosing on 1200 calories a day & three very strenous gym sessions a week. I can assure you I wasn't eating any cheese (apart from weighed servings of cottage cheese) - haven't had any hard cheese since October, or take-aways, etc. At 1200 calories a day not much scope for treats. Now half stone left.

However on another thread someone else was ranting that they were on a diet eating 1600 a day but couldn't loose the last few pounds (she was the same height as me). I was thinking wow, I wouldn't have lost anything on 1600 calories.

It may be that for you to loose weight you need to cut things down and have less points than your friends. Unfair yes, but thats life.

WW will work for you but you might need to reduce the number of points (not sure exactly how it works). A friend who did WW told me that she got the first 2 stone off easily on WW but then just didn't loose any more.

you say you are exercising lots - are you using your pp for exercise?

sometimes if you dont eat enough you wont lose weight as body thinks uit is being starved

i would try using half of your weekies

also again if exercising lots you may be toning up so losing inches but gaining muscle

mucsle weighs more than fat

so measure yourself, you may be suprised

your leader should have told you this, she sounds a bit crap to me tbh

Blondeshavemorefun - its true that muscle weighs more than fat... but someone who is 3 stone overweight should be able to loose 1.5lbs-2lbs a week even with exercising & increasing muscle - unless if focus of workouts was on building muscles.

In terms of body thinking its being starved I think this is very unlikely following WW, esp if exercising which keeps metabolism high - besides it takes some time to kick in - generally the dieter would loose a lot quite quickly (eg loose a couple of stones), and then would reach plateau as body goes into starvation mode.

curlycarla - what was calories per day, what is your height and how much exercise?
