Having just started the couch to 5k I was looking for some inspiration and found this www.c25k.com/ben_video.html on the couch to 5k website. Really amazing!

Ooh I'll watch this later. I weigh just under 15st, and struggle to run, although in my case I think it's the enormous norks that make it difficult! Anyone know where I can get a sports bra made of iron?! :o

justaminute · 06/02/2011 14:11

Thank you for that, amazing inspiration. I started couch to 5k last September, got to week 6 and caved in. I've been saying all week that I will start again this weekend. I'm now off to get my trainers on and go...once I've stopped crying.

GypsyMoth · 06/02/2011 14:22

Good to see!

I'm just finished on week 3 on couch to 5k and starting week 4 tonight!! Really excited, finding it all very addictive. I had 4 stone to lose at the start. 3 1/2 to go now!!

FreudianSlippery · 06/02/2011 15:51

So lots of people have done this then? I have about 5st to lose...

GypsyMoth · 06/02/2011 16:04

I'm low carbing whilst doing it , but results are a half stone weight loss and much more tone to legs/bottom. Also fitness levels increased from the very first run. Which was just for one minute!!

mamalovesmojitos · 06/02/2011 16:08

Wow! I really need to get my fat ass off the couch and get moving! Less Biscuit less Wine more exercise Grin.

FreudianSlippery (great name btw) the enell sports bra is amazing. I too am large of nork. Look here

FreudianSlippery · 06/02/2011 17:10

Thanks for link! I've got a fairly decent sports bra, which will suffice for a while as I just signed up for a low impact course. After that I may invest!

I have lost weight gradually for a couple of months and it's amazing how much difference it made.

I have never liked running at all. But a few weeks ago after dropping DD off and for once I didn't have DS in the buggy, I was walking home (lots of isolated footpaths) and I just randomly jogged part of the way home! It was so weird that I felt able to. Even though it was only a small distance I was SO chuffed! I'd love to capitalise on that.

I'm signing up for the race for life in may/june... Was planning to walk, but if I could even run a little way... I'd be so happy!

Freudian do come over to the couch to 5k threadf and we will confirm there are lots of us unfit lot trying to run for the very first time Grin

I am a lerge lady and have been further shocked by how unfit i was when i tried the first run of the programme - could not even make 60 seconds without being unable to breather Blush I have also struggled with injury but have just kept going slowly, repeating a week if necessary. The group is very supportive and there are a range of differant c25k podcats so you can find the one that you like.

As for bras, i have one from M&S that looks very similiar to the enell ones but only £20 odd so alot more affordable. Holds my large uns stadfast as i lumber around the streets ! Grin

FreudianSlippery · 06/02/2011 20:48

Ooh. Scary but I will have a look!

D'you really need to listen to the podcast though? Not too keen on headphones while on the move - could I just listen at home and then do the correct intervals on my own?
