I don't understand what I have to eat!

I am totally pissed off Sad

I've lost 10lbs straight off with healthy eating and cutting out sugar/junk etc.

I've joined the gym, but have only been three times due to having a minor op on my toe.

I have now stuck at 11stone 11lbs and I can't get any lower - a week now and I've lost nothing. I'm not due on or anything and I haven't been cheating.

My typical day is as follows:

Small bowl of porridge made with skimmed milk and nothing added for sweetness.

Small tin of mackerel or a boiled egg for lunch with 2 Ryvita and lots of leaves. Perhaps a bit of cottage cheese if I have any in.

Evening meal is something low fat - stuff like mince and some pasta and vegetables etc. My servings aren't large and I don't feel full after I've eaten. I'm not stuffing on pasta/potatoes/rice etc.

Piece of fruit - no bananas

Supper is 150mls of skimmed milk with a teaspoon of Options Chocolate Orange powder.

If I find myself starving I just eat 2 Ryvita with no spread or anything.

I don't eat any spreads or sugars or fried food etc.

I've been really good, but no further weight loss.

What am I doing wrong? I think my average calorie intake each day is about 1200. If I eat more than 1500 I gain weight. I'm quite active throughout the day with looking after the kids and going to work part time. I'm not a couch potato.

The bloke at the gym who did my induction said you have to eat fat to lose fat.

I've tried going carb free/very low carb, but I just end up feeling weak, disorientated and starving. However, if I do eat any carbs, I just don't seem to lose anything.

Please help as I'm sick of being this weight and need to lose about 2 stone.

TBH not really sure why vegetables not allowed every second day, I am eating them and still loosing, just avoiding the high carb ones like carrots and parsnip.

He doesn't allow as he claims (in the book)weight loss faster just having protein, but obviously not healthy to not eat vegetables at all.

My take on it is that I am more likely to stick to it if I have salad type vegetables every day (although make sure I have protein at every meal).

I have lost 2lbs and am now Grin

I have been eating low fat protein, low carbs and no fruit for the last two days. The only carbs I have had are some oats in porridge - bought some oat bran this morning and made a sort of hot goo with it - and a tiny amount of nuts and seeds.

No food at all after 6pm and a small amount of fat free natural yoghurt as a treat after evening meal.
