Apolofies if covered before..

Went to check out a gym today (horror of horrors!!) and they have this Power Plate which allegedly gives fab workout at fraction of the time, and which I ve heard lots in press..
Has anyone got direct experience of this? Good or bad? This gym is more expensive than a neighbouring one that doesnt, and fair enough if this gear is good- but I dont know of anyone that can vouch for its success (xcept Madonna, Shakira etc..)

I used one for the first time recently, I found it gave quite a strenous workout in hardly any time.

TMI Alert:

DH used it last week and said he had to go to the loo immediately afterwards. He thinks it dislodged the entire contents of his bowels, and he felt much better afterwards. Grin

LOL!!!

I shall beware of food intake prior to visit!!

Is it hard to use (ie am I likely to make a fool of myself what with not being a gym godess?)

Ive just started using one and its great! Used it 4 times this week and i can honestly see a slight difference in my shape...a very small difference but its still enough to motivate me to go back again tomorrow! Give it a go!! Have been eating v healthy as well though but really think the power plate is helping things along nicely.

ivykaty44 · 29/01/2011 19:44

so you stand on a vibrating plate and it jiggs you about whilst you try and hold on? Then you lose weight doing this?

polarfox · 29/01/2011 20:32

Suzie you sold it to me!! If you can see a difference after a week brill I say!

Is there a limit how often you can use it, and does someone have to show you how to do it?
Ivy yes -supposedly it works the muscles intensively, but thats all I know (for now)

10 minutes every day is what ive been told, went 4 times last week though and planning to go every day this week. where i go there is just a poster on the wall showing you what to do, at the moment i just stand on though and do the 'overall conditioning', will then move on to the toning when i need to. let me know how you get on! Smile

Foreverondiet · 30/01/2011 19:52

I use it occasionally and quite like it, however I wouldn't join a gym just for it.

androbbob · 30/01/2011 20:13

I find it amusing - even my nose vibrates! It does make your muscles hurt but not sure if it is a fad. Mine is in the council gym and is hardly used. Mainly by women!

polarfox · 31/01/2011 10:33

Shall keep you posted- fad it may be, but its time for drastic measures!!!

Thanks guys ..

Will let you know Suzie!!!
