Hi I am 5ft 8 and weigh nearly 18 stone. I am v v unfit, its not that I dont know what to do it is motivating my self to keep at it for what will be a long haul.

I have friends who have used lighterlife and cambridge etc and have lost weight and then put it all beack on and more so am nervous of soing it but also think it might help to give me a kickstart and keep me away from food so I can think my weight a little more objectively.

I would love to hear different views

The trouble with a vlcd is that it doesn't solve the problem, it's only a temporary fix. Healthy eating OTOH changes the way you eat permanently, and can be maintained.

True, a vlcd can show faster results, but at the cost of you feeling permanently hungry and stressed. Healthy eating OTOH can be a source of great pleasure and discovery.

Definitely healthy eating!
You'll be getting proper nutrients and vitamins from natural sources.
You'll be eating proper food won't be hungry and miserable.
You can enjoy a social life and be able to carry on when you reach your goal weight instead of going mad after months of deprivation and puttin all the weight back on.

Try www.foodfocus.co.uk to log your food and get some healthy recipes from websites like www.channel4.com/4food/recipes/tv-show-recipes/cook-yourself-thin-recipes
or get yourself a low fat cook book to keep yourself interested.

Good luck!
