100 lbs to lose... 2011 *is* my year!

I've been carrying a LOT of excess weight since I gave birth to DD nearly 2 years ago and I'm desperate to lose it for good!

I have PCOS and am following a low GI, calorie counting diet. I'm doing the 30-Day Shred for exercise. :)

This is the first year I've actually thought about it taking a L-O-N-G time isntead of trying for 'quick fixes'... I've tried to start a MN blog, but that part of the site is currently down... I have another, current weight loss blog if anyone is interested in taking a look (hope it's ok to mention that!) The link is in my profile. :)

Good luck to everyone who wants to lose weight for good this year! Grin

Good luck with your weight loss!!!

Have you spoken to your GP. I found mine really helped me and is weighing me on a regular basis. Making my weightloss 'offical' has really helped keep me motivated.

Good Luck Smile

I'm starting SW tonight, and having weighed myself this morning, have got over 70lbs to lose. Sounds like a mammoth task, but as I didn't get this big overnight (although last 1.5 stone went on in just over 6 weeks thanks to medication Sad), it's going to be a long haul....

Thanks! Yes, I have the full support of my practice nurse (tend to see her over a GP). :)

Really excited about - and enjoying it! - this time as I'm seeing it REALLY happening over a longer period of time, rather than setting completely unrealistice goals in the short term! 'Quick fixes' don't work for me! Wink

Good luck to you. Have 84 lbs to lose myself but if you understand it'll take time and a hell of a lot of effort you'll get there, as will I!

Best of luck!

lacksdaisies - I lost 70 lbs with Slimming world back in the 90's it took me approx a year.. so deff doable x

LacksDaisies · 17/01/2011 13:54

thanks joby1970...good to know it's achievable Smile

We should start the 70 plus club!

sparkle101, I definitely think the epiphany for me was realising there are no 'magic answers' or any short cuts - this is going to take a long time, and, as someone who has a real issue with bingeing and overeating, a lifelong commitment. You've got the right attitude and I'm sure we'll be toasting our success (with diet coke! Wink) this time next year!

Joby1970, 70lbs is brilliant! Slimming World was GREAT! When I first loss loads of weight (over 10 stone - can't believe I let it creep back on again, including a 5 stone pregnancy gain... Sad) it was with Slimming World and over the course of a year. I'm vegetarian and only did green days (back when it was only green or red days).

I've since been diagnoses with PCOS, so the very stuff I used to fill myself up with on green (pasta, potatoes, etc.,) are a no-no now, sadly...

have you tried Rosemary Connelly she does a low GI thing - meant to be quite good. Also DVD - 30 day SHRED .

Did 100 squats and 100 lunges yesterday. My legs are paying the price today - need assistance getting on and off the loo! Grin
