is it possible? What about vegetarian low carb recipes? I can't afford to eat much at the moment except loads of pasta, spuds etc and it's killing me.

Lots of pulses - lentils, chick peas, kidney beans etc. You could make soups, veggie bean casseroles, veggie and lentil curries etc. And just don't have them with carbs.

Thanks Buda. so pulses are low carb? that's brilliant. We all love chickpea curries etc.

Well they are not exactly low carb but a veggie and lentil curry with no rice will be a much more low carb dish than with obv! Try going more low GI rather than low carb. I have been doing low GI and no crap carbs. So protein, veg, pulses, some fruit etc but no rice, pasta, potatoes. As little processed foods as possible. Nothing made from flour or sugar. Cuts out a lot of crap! And you do lose weight. It is also easier to stick to and healthier than low carb.
