Anyone else struggling to lose that last stone/half stone after having a baby?

DD2 is 3 months old. Before Christmas I decided it was time to start feeling less of a blob and wanted to fit into my old clothes. I was doing fairly well and am back in my more generous jeans, but then Christmas hit and I'm all blobby again Sad.

I'm pretty sure that all I need to do is stop eating the sugary crap that I snack on every day, but that's pretty hard when you're sleep deprived and running round after a toddler!

Anyone else in the same boat and want to help keep each other going?

Hi Wem.
My lo is 10 mths now. I was a 4 stoner by my due date and thought the weight would drop off as I was breast feeding.... Oh how wrong was I? I bf till she was 7 mths and tried to diet, but I like my food too much. I've only got a stone to loose after working out twice a week since she was 13 wks old (which stopped in oct). I've decided that pilates Is the way forward and I'm ditching the scales, I've done it twice this week and already I feel I'm pulling my belly in more when I walk/stand.
Let me know how you plan to loose your weight.
Good luck x

In my opinion 3 months is a bit early for dieting, specially if you're breastfeeding (but I don't know if that's the case). 3 months after DS was born I was trying healthy things bit really didn't worry about counting calories until... well, as DS is 8 months and I'm still BFing, I'm not on a diet yet.

And I think in the first few months you need all the energy you can get, so not the time to cut on food.

Is there any way you could try to eat more healthy, but still snacking and everything? For example, eating dried fruit instead of snacks and things like this? Or drinking more (pure) water?

Hi you two :)

I'm not planning proper dieting, just cutting out the biscuits and cakes and chocolate that became standard over Christmas. I am breastfeeding so the hunger is there, so I'll need to replace them with something, but healthier stuff like you say. I'd like to try some exercise, but I'm waiting for the energy for that!

wem, I felt that BFing was what helped me to lose weight. I lost a fair bit up to now.

What I did was: I don't diet, but I eat loads of healthy stuff. Lots of nuts, lots of fresh, fruit, wholemeal bread, vegetables, tea (with no sugar) and the odd pizza and shortbread (more than I should, definitely!) and an awful lot of water.

For the energy levels I found out that fruit and iron supplements where the most useful things (more than chocolate and coffee, for example). I usually have spatone, which is expensive but works well for me.

I've established that everyday I have to eat a salad (or some vegetables), and a fruit. Sometimes I'm just dying for cake, for example. So I eat my fruit and then have the cake. This way I make sure I had something healthy, and there less room left for the cake :)

(I'm sure we're all going to get to the weight we want, even if it takes a while ;)

Hey lady's.

Schroedingersdodo, your very good. I was more like Wem at Xmas. Now I'm giving dd proper meals with snacks I find I'm eating better as I'm doing the whole eating meals together thing.
I started back at work last week, I keep going weak at the knees everytime I pass burger king.... I haven't given in yet tho. I think that because I had a kebab sat and a curry sun! Is there any hope for me? Lol.
It's a new week and I'm sure your right we will get there in the end. I had poached salmon and pasta tonight so onwards and upwards :)
