Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

Me too, FGM. DS2 banged his head and had to go to the docs and by the time we got home I just ate everything in sight. I know it was because I was worried. Maybe remember that you can take this one meal at a time? Can you have a friend over at the weekend or meet up with someone for a walk/visit to the park?

PS me too always...

mummyosaurus · 04/02/2011 13:36

Has anyone joined the PM online weightloss club, I signed up tot he free bit and he keeps sending me emails about it.

Can't imagine it would be any better than sharing ideas on here really, would it?

mummyosaurus · 04/02/2011 13:40

FGM, are you using the cd? I have been listening to it before I get up in the morning, setting the alarm to try and wake up before the kids wake. Not always easy. It seems to give me some strength to get though most of the day...

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 15:58

FGM and BloomingNora - have you tried acknowledging how you are feeling by writing it down. It can help enormously to focus on how you feel and that angry/tired/bored is how you feel, rather than hungry?

mummyosaurus - not yet, he too keeps sending me emails. I think it's quite US focused too.

UrsulaBuffay · 04/02/2011 17:43

Oh I wish I had you lot with me in my pocket all the time

Had a wobble today & almost didnt apply for the job but did in the end so it's done now. Have not left anything on my plate all day, finding it hard at work to notice if I'm hungry or not, think it's because I'm sat at a desk all day. Listened to cd last night though & had a fab sleep at least!

Right, going back up thread to read about everyone's day- thanks all for good wishes & advice!

UrsulaBuffay · 04/02/2011 17:54

solo, the galaxy hot choc sounds lovely & worth having & enjoying! You've had an emotional time of it & have realised that your eating is sometimes emotional. Me too.

FGM & BloomingNora the thing I'm trying to ask myself is the bit about 'are you hungry or do you just want to change the way you feel'. It applies whether you're tired, upset, angry, worried. It's good advice I think & struck me when I read it.

Nice one Deafworm on the top! I long to just be comfortable wearing a t-shirt again, and that's a big victory! Scales mean nothing, that's what counts.

Mummyosaurus I haven't joined, I much prefer this type of board as I know no one has any agenda or will try to 'upsell' anything, and it's not about weight as that can get very boring!

Alwaysbe gerroff, she's my little positive sunbeam!

Thanks WMMC, again! I will take your advice and write a list, it's got to be a more positive use of time & ink than logging bloody slimming world syns! And playing the harp sounds like a divine way to spend time to me.

bloomingnora · 04/02/2011 18:47

As soon as I had acknowledged how I felt this morning, the hunger magically disappeared. Funny that!

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 19:42

Hurrah for Ursula - who is so getting promoted! Grin

And to Bloomingnora - blimey ladies I think she's got it Wink That's tremendous progress in such a short time. Gosh I'll be seeing you all on the cover of magazines soon you'll all be so svelte and glamourous! :)

Well I had a lovely dinner roast pork (with crackling), spiced swede and sweet potato and carrots/peas with yorkshire pudding. It was delicious. I really really enjoyed it, instead of wolfing it down in ten minutes and burping all evening. Blush

Now all the children are asleep I'm planning a loafing about evening, possibly trying to learn a Bach piece on my harp.

I'm interspersing ICMYT with ICMYH (Happy) which has an interesting effect. I'm hungry, but happy about it Confused Grin

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 19:43

Incidentally, do you think PM's spies will infiltrate out little coven over here before the 19th? Wink

bloomingnora · 04/02/2011 20:28

Don't forget I have done this before so maybe that's a bit of a headstart! Sadly pregnancy undid it all but I'm done having children so these changes are for life. I nearly bought ICMYH in Sainsbury's a minute ago! Is it good? I think I get addicted to the ICMYT CD.....

Amazingly I did not buy any food while in Sainsbury's (went to buy birthday presents). Still managed to pend £40 Hmm
s
This is probably the first time in months that I have been to a shop and not bought a huge little something to snack on Grin

bloomingnora · 04/02/2011 20:28

not sure how that s got there Hmm

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 20:31

ICMYH is good - surprisingly so - haven't had a chance to read the book yet but the CD is brilliant.

I know what you mean about supermarkets though, I went into the shops at lunchtime and came out with a paper and nothing else and it felt weird.

bloomingnora · 04/02/2011 20:36

Yes! Had to keep checking I hadn't forgotten something. I definitely end up with more lose change in my pockets when I follow PM. And time on my hands! The benefits just don't stop.

PS DH is being a cock and I am not hungry, I am am merely acknowledging the fact he is a cock. I also suspect he is reading my posts. Cock.

mummyosaurus · 04/02/2011 20:53

I too have been spending less and not shopping everyday, which is a massive saving.

Going to really work on acknowledging my emotions over the weekend.

I usually find weekends hardest.

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 21:13

I find withered cock much more effective in such pronouncements bloomingnora Wink

Does he want to read because he wants to lose weight, tell him to register and I'll hector him into it Wink

bloomingnora · 04/02/2011 21:30

I think he thinks I am talking about him. I am now! Grin I'm off to bed with Paul Mckenna Wink

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2011 21:32

Don't blame you bloomingnora. I would. Grin

solo · 05/02/2011 00:54

Hello, hello!!! You lot sound sooo positive! :)

My add a message box has changed position and it's a bit weird!!! Confused

I saw PM's ICMYH in Tesco today and it fell into I bought it! which is naughty as I can't spare the money at all as I have to save up for the train fair on the 19th! ah well...I can be overdrawn but happy about it! Grin loads of !!!'s in this post!

whomovedmychocolate · 05/02/2011 08:27

Well DS just ran away clutching my breakfast. But I guess that's one way of losing weight Grin

I will wander off and make some more in a minute. Funny how mum's food is always nicer than his even when we have the same thing Hmm

In his defence - he's 2!

I'm looking forward to a lovely day of cooking. We are having high tea with some friends and we're going to be making lots of tiny cakes - luckily I don't really like tiny cakes.

UrsulaBuffay · 05/02/2011 09:28

Just reading the PM webchat as I missed the fact that there had even been one (was on SW at the time) wow! How generous! NotOlive, that experience sounds awful. Glad he had the good grace to apologise to you & I hope you (all) enjoy the seminar

UrsulaBuffay · 05/02/2011 09:31

WMMC my DD is 2 and Mummy's food is always lovelier!

Solo, let us know if you do get the cds Paul promised you on webchat! ICMYH sounds like a good one for me, as a natural miser! Though I do feel a bit !!!! on this thread too, which is good! (!)

solo · 05/02/2011 12:38

Fair?! I meant fare of course! Blush

Ursula, I listened to the ICMYH last night on repeat! so I expected to wake up with a hhuge grin on my face this morning! Grin but no! I will be doing it every night for at least a while. I don't even know what he says on it after the warning and I remember the counting back from 300, but other than that...Hmm it's a blur!
It is £5.49 in Tesco atm, so maybe worth investing in? :)

UrsulaBuffay · 05/02/2011 13:07

Oh that's how I am with the ICMYT one, just fall asleep & have no idea what it says. Thanks for the heads up, that and the confidence one would do me well so I'll have a look :)

FGM · 05/02/2011 13:11

Thanks for advice on changing the way I feel. That really is the key isn't it?!

My internet connection was down last night so felt very isolated. DH will be around tomorrow so hopefully I can get a minute to myself as well as some much needed adult company.

A funny thing happened y-day... I gave the DDs some fruit and yoghurt (from a nearly empty tub of natural yoghurt) and I didn't feel compelled to clean out and eat every last speck of yoghurt from the container into my mouth (regardless of wether I wanted any or not). I'm taking this as progress. I was bought up being told that for every grain of rice I left on my plate 100 people in China would die. It's so shocking now to think of that!

whomovedmychocolate · 05/02/2011 13:25

for every grain of rice I left on my plate 100 people in China would die WTF? That doesn't even make any sense?! Hmm

Well at least you are sane FGM even if your family had some funny ideas. Grin

And it sounds like you are making excellent progress, it's especially hard on your own - I'm pretty much on my own too - DH has never had a food problem and so I really appreciate each and every one of you because you are helping me enormously :)
