I am only a few pounds off the biggest I've ever been and totally miserable about it. I feel such a non person.

2011 I will lose weight and be happy.

I'm going to be doing a combination of wii fit and loosely based slimming world and lots of walking with a pram/sling.

Will weigh myself and measure on the 1st of jan, can't wait to get rid of all the shit food from the house and get cracking.

TinselinaBumSquash · 28/12/2010 21:51

I will join you, im not startin until the 1st of Jan though. I am just going to be ruthless and kick my own arse into gear everytime i drool over chocolate.
Im gonna try and make friends with ym steamer i will cook a meal for dp and the kids and then its easy to pop some fish and veg in the steamer it only takes up one ring on the hob.

I will try to excersise more we have the Xbox Kinnect so i plan to get the dance game and the fitness one.

I say this every year but something has to give, i have just dont panto and looking back at the photos makes me want to barf so im hopinh by panto 2011 i will looking alot better in photos.

Luckily i had a stomach bug a few weeks ago i was really poorly with it my stomachh seems to have shrunk so i can't eat great deal now without being full. I used to polish off a family sized Pizza but now 2 slices fills me right up.
Thats beens followed with weeks of flu so i have lost a few lbs i guess.

I will be weighing myself nakes frist thing on a Monday morning.

YuleTideD0G · 28/12/2010 21:58

Tinselina, me too I am going to weigh on the first and chuck out any left over christmassy food.

I just feel angry at myself it's come to this again tbh. I was 14stone10 Shock at my very heaviest, I lost over 4 stone and felt so happy. My problem is I keep having baby's Grin. I've had my last now though so no excuses.

I don't want my dc's to have to be embarrassed of their fat mum.

I have an iron will when I'm in the zone though and I am so ready now to do this.

OP posts:
TinselinaBumSquash · 28/12/2010 22:01

I have no will unfortunately. The only that has ever workes is Slimming Wolrd but the diet made me misrable, it consumed my life thinking about syns and red and green days. I got obsessed and i don't want to be 'that' person again.

Im just going to be sensible and not eat the things i know are junk ie sweets and crisps and take away food.

I am limited when it comes to excersise as i have hyper mobility syndrome and my joints dislocate really easy so im going to take it at a slower pace and joi the college gym and get some advice.

I am also sticking up all my 'fat' pictures and taking new pictures as i lose to keep me motivated.

If you have itron will you can kick me up the backside when i need it! We can be buddies! :)

YuleTideD0G · 28/12/2010 22:07

Ohh yes the picture idea is good. How about taking one in the same place, a door way is good, at the same time every month?

Slimming world has changed lately I think, there is an extra easy plan that looks quite good.

Yep I am good at arse kicking. Grin

Excersise is tricky for me timewise ($ dc's one ebf), but, it does make so much difference. I may try swimming once a week, but wii fit is good as can slot it in with being at home and naps.

Roughly how much do you think you need to lose? I think I need to lose about 4 stone again.

OP posts:
nulgirl · 28/12/2010 22:11

Can I join too? I am now the heaviest I have ever been and feel really miserable about it. I worked out that I am the same weight that I was when I was 2 weeks overdue with my ds.

After having my dd I got down to 11 stone and felt really good about myself but when I got pregnant again I just let myself go completely and 3 years down the line I feel huge. The thing that worked last time was going to Rosemary Conley class but I just don't have the motivation to go back to the class.

I am going to wait until the 1st Jan and then going to cut out all the snacking between meals

TinselinaBumSquash · 28/12/2010 22:11

Im only 5ft 1 so should be about 8 stone (hahaha) but im currently 11ish so really about 3 stone but i would be overjoyed with 2.
Im size 14 and would kill to be a 10. I literally can't remember being a size 10.

I was at Slimming world when they did ee.
I have nothing against them its just my evenings are precious and i go great for the first few months but then i just get fed up without counting syns and weighing healthy extras ect. If i can't o it by myself then i will go back but i would really like to suceed by myself.

YuleTideD0G · 28/12/2010 22:15

I do know what you mean, though I think I did it for so long I kind of automatically know syn values and he weights etc. However, like you I really don't have time to go so will go it alone (and here Smile). I also don't like the way they push aspartame products on you all the time, sometimes there's more to health than being slim iyswim?

YuleTideD0G · 28/12/2010 23:49

Anyone else want to join us?

OP posts:
atswimtwolengths · 28/12/2010 23:58

Yes, me! I have three plans:

  • to swim every day (I can do this as my kids are away at university and so I don't have to be home to cook dinner.)
  • to have ryvitas instead of bread for breakfast and lunch.
  • to not have a drink unless I am with friends.

So, I'm giving up two things and doing one positive thing. I'm sick of diets - any weight I lose goes back on. I know that if I don't eat bread I lose weight. Same with alcohol - I've got into the habit of having a couple of drinks every night and I shouldn't do that. I love swimming and can get it free through my doctor's - I've done that every day before and it works really, really well.

I plan to start on 1st January, but can't swim that day as the pool will be shut until the 3rd.

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 00:01

Hello atswim. Glad you are joining us.

Mmmmmmm bread Grin.

Bread and butter are my BIGGEST enemies, if I had neither in the house ever I'd be a stick. I put butter on everything Blush.

How far will you be swimming? When I was thin I used to swim a mile three times a week, I really love swimming and it helped so much. My sister managed to get an underwater MP3 player, quite cheaply. Perhaps that'sd help keep you motivated as you swim?

OP posts:
missy10 · 29/12/2010 00:07

can i join you all please i need 2 loose a stone plus in going 2 do the race 4 life this year so i need some hand holding and butt kicking :) :)

atswimtwolengths · 29/12/2010 00:13

Hi Yule Tide. When I was swimming before, I'd have a target each night. The pool shut at 6.30 and I would swim one lap for every minute I was in until closing time - usually 60 laps.

I haven't been for a couple of years so won't be able to do that at first, but that's my goal. I have no excuse, unless I have to work late (rare events at college.)

Ooh an underwater MP3 player? How much was that? I'd love it!

And yes, bread is my enemy. Now that my kids are away, I don't need to have it in the house - that's my goal! Even with butter on ryvitas, I still lost weight - it's the bloody bread that does it!

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 00:19

Pretty good price. Bread is evil, especially home made, it's the smell, I cannot resist. Even Ryvita would be bad for me as I would just put a shit load of butter on it. When I lost my weight before I used Gold spread as I was allowed 28g for only 2.5 syns, but I think it's no longer made, such an arse as allowing myself that one bad thing made dieting sooo easy for me

Hello missy, what will you be doing or changing?

OP posts:
tomhardyismydh · 29/12/2010 00:24

i will join you no plans yet, probably slimming world, not sure i can actually walk any more than i do but possibly running once shifted a bit.

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 00:27

Hello tomhardy I don't think I could run atm. I'm so fat it's uncomfortable Blush

Seems so counterproductive but am trying to eat all the baddies before the first, hopefully will be enough to put me off choc, cream and cheese for life

OP posts:
YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 00:31

Was going to try and set up a FB page where we can post Pictures before after and during. Thought it might be good motivation and less embarrassing than MN profile. It's be a closed/secret group so noone would be able to see. If anyone would like to do that inbox me on here and I'll invite you to group

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 01:07

Tomgmhardy I'll have a look in the morning. Night all

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 09:03

A morning bump. There must be more fatties (Grin) out there that want to join us.

OP posts:
Himalaya · 29/12/2010 09:20

I'll join. Am 11 (...and a quarter..), need to loose about 2 stone. I have done it before, but put it back on through a stressful year and lack of motivation.

I'm going to stick with 'my plan' which worked before:

  1. cut out biscuits, cake, chocolates.
  2. cut down on alcohol - only if I go out, not at home
  3. 3 meals and 2 healthy snacks a day
  4. portion control - meat the size of a packet of playing cards, half a bagel etc..,
  5. don't eat fatty food - chips, crisps, pastry, sausages etc...
  6. write everything down
  7. weigh every morning and make a line graph!
  8. run three times a week

I might start Zumba too.

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 09:22

Hello himalaya, all sounds good. What is zumba?

Am very envious of those of you with only a couple of stone to lose

OP posts:
TinselinaBumSquash · 29/12/2010 09:25

Im not allowed to do the 30 day shred, I have on ongoing issue with fast paced intense excersise, last couple of times I did the sred I promptly passed out and had some kind of fit Sad im undergoing tests and things but the dr's have advised slower pace cardio with more rests and gentle excersise like swimming and walking.

I think i will just have be having yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. A snack of fruit or raw veg for a snack and then some sort of lunch.

Im at collage 2 days a week and the canteen doesn't 'do' healthy lunch, its all pizza, burgers and sandwiches, so im going to have to find something i can take in with me.

I don't drink a lot af alcahol anyway, its mainy lattes so iwill have to stick with Tea and water.

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 09:34

Soup in a flask is a good one to take. I think I'll prob be having weetabix and fruit for brekkies, soup (no bread) for lunches. Dinners I'll prob have whatever everyone else having but a small portion. I am still ebf so will have to be quite sensible

OP posts:
Himalaya · 29/12/2010 10:43

Zumba is Latin themed aerobics - rumba, merengue, salsa that is etc..., not amo, amas, amat....much fun.

The last bit of my plan is to buy myself this dress: www.getcutie.co.uk/dresses/64/index.html when I reach my target weight. Not sur which fabric yet.

YuleTideD0G · 29/12/2010 18:57

That sounds really fun Himalaya.

I have been absolutely stuffing my face today Blush

Roll on the first of January eh
