I want to loose wieght big time. I have shed some pounds but I have just got lots of yummy food in for Christmas. I don't want to diet through this period but neither do I want to get fat again; help!

Don't know, but if you find out will you tell me?

duckyfuzz · 21/12/2010 21:17

enjoy a bit of the nice stuff, don't over indulge, if you do then compensate the next day and then diet like mad in Jan!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 22/12/2010 06:23

My plan (and we'll have to wait till Jan to see if works) is to have lots of nice meals but keep them healthy and treat myself to lots of nice fruit. Then stil have mince pies and Xmas pud but not loads of it. And walk the dog a lot. Oh and make some nice soups to fill up on, something better than my usual chuck any veg I can find type.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 22/12/2010 06:27

Exercise like mad and eat only until you feel satisfied, not stuffed.

ppeatfruit · 22/12/2010 09:25

Yes the paul Mckenna diet works really well at xmas and go no carb for Xmas lunch AND try eating fruit when you're hungry NOT after meals.

crabb · 22/12/2010 09:35

Alcohol can pile on calories. If you're having wine or whatever, make every second drink a glass of water or soda water. Helps fill you up a bit too.

ppeatfruit · 22/12/2010 15:53

I totally agree with crabb!!

poshsinglemum · 22/12/2010 17:58

Just off to have a mince pie. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm starting the dukan in January.

I'm just giving up worrying about it or I will set myself up for failure and be miserable. I mean, how much damage can I do in a week?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 23/12/2010 17:31

I've lost nearly 3 stone over this year, but have already put on 4lbs during the festive month period of December. Trying to be relaxed about it and then going to go full throttle back on the diet beginning January.

YankNChristmasCrackers · 23/12/2010 17:35

I find food poisoning works well. I was just in hospital with campylobacter and I've lost half a stone!

AvonCallingBarksdale · 23/12/2010 17:50

Blimey, Yank! How did you get that? Half a stone, you say.....?

YankNChristmasCrackers · 24/12/2010 08:06

Not entirely clear, I suspect it was from handling some raw chicken. DS and DH didn't get it thank goodness, so I must have cleaned up enough and cooked it thoroughly (just not cleaned up soon enough to avoid infecting myself!).

I'm not sure I'd recommend it--bloody diarrhoea up to 15 times a day and excruciating stomach cramps!
