Some advice needed, please, from someone who's lost a lot of weight

I need to lose about 4-5 stone Blush and my hips really hurt, particularly if I've been sitting/lying in the same position for a long time. The pain is distinctly in the joint but radiates right down the leg (both legs) to the ankle.

I have arthritis in my hands, but it's not osteoarthritis, it's psoriatic arthritis.

I know I need to lose weight. I wondered if anyone had been in the same position, lost the weight and found their joint pains had eased.

Thanks.

bad knees here, especially going up stairs, lost 3.5 st a couple of years ago and was postively bouncing up the stairs it was great. Put it all back on again (and moreBlush) and knees are agony.

New years resolution is to lose again.

Thanks, Lindax - I suppose it's obvious but I just needed to hear it!

Imperial have just seen your question.

in june i was 15 1/2stone and went to see my GP with my bad knees he told me to lose weight and they would improve or have surgery when they are really bad Sad

i took his advice and started a healthy eating and swimming regime and now weigh 11 1/2stone with very good knees Smile

i was very skeptical that any improvement would be so quick but i have been proved wrong .............. i hope to lose about 2 stone more eventually.

there are a few threads on here where we help motivate each other, it is great to share with others and encourage them too.

just let me know if i can help!
