couch to 5k - can you do it everyday?

The plan tells you to run 3 times a week. But can you do it everyday if you feel fit enough? I am on week 2 and have run 3 times this week already. I worked out in week 2 you are only running 9 minutes per session in total, which is not really a lot cardio wise, if you need to lose weight.

Has anyone who has completed this running plan ran more days than it advises?

I think the key is not to overdo it at first, it may not seem a lot but from zero building it up steadily is very important.
The programme has obviously been done by experts who know what they are talking about!

I think also stop being pinickity and what-if'y and just get out there and run JUST DO IT as Nike says!

I started running about 6 weeks ago from couch potato and the benefits are really noticeable - so go for it!

I started running this way and the point of the slow build up is to avoid injury. If you want to do more exercise it is a good idea to do something entirely different, like Yoga or swimming on the other days. If you run everyday you are very likely to get shin splints or knee problems and then you will be at risk of losing your motivation. Just follow the programme and you will be fit healthy and thin before you know it!

I too say every other day.

I found if I did go 2 days on the trot my energy and stamina were well short.

Don't rush it - you will get to week 9 soon enough! Go Girl!!

I now try (but the weathers not my 1st choice atm) and do my 5K Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

thanks everyone! great advice. I will alternate with swimming. I just can't wait till I'm running 20 minutes straight. Grin
