Really struggling with it??

Been doing it for two weeks now, didn't even try in the first week, have been reasonably good this week Hmm

So please tell me how much you lost in your first week on the new plan??

Thank you - I have got a huuuuuuuuuge amount of weight to lose though, so it's not surprising that the weight is coming off pretty quickly at the moment.

I haven't told anyone in rl yet (apart from dh). No-one has noticed yet, but as I'm very fat, it won't start to show until I've lost about 3 stone I expect.

Furball - I was on my first or second week when we went to the thai place. Text me on Tuesday and let me know how you get on. Tuesday is my weigh in day too!

Furball · 25/11/2010 19:52

Will do Littlefish! - I didn't get to sit by you though did I - We got split up cos we're naughty!!

Littlefish · 25/11/2010 20:00

Grin Probably best if they always split us up!

bluebump · 25/11/2010 20:16

Well done on all of your losses! I am only day 4 on the new plan and finding it ok - just marking my place on the thread really!

I agree with the comments above about WW not encouraging you to eat totally healthy, I'm not sure I even ate crisps before I started on these plans but now I know I can lose weight and scoff bag a day then I do Grin

vintageteacups · 25/11/2010 20:37

A typical food day for me is:

Breakfast:
cuppa (1/4 pnt daily skimmed milk allowance)
30g porridge made with water with..
a chopped banana, tps syrup & 2 x tbsp low fat natural yog = 5 points

Apple

Lunch:
Wholemeal roll (3pp)
with tbsp low fat cheese spread (1pp)
2 slices lean ham (2pp)
watercress, cucumber, tomato

Persimmon fruit chopped into chunky bits

Dinner: (really scrummy dinner tonight)
127g peeled prawns stir fried with brocolli and orange pepper, sprinkled with chinese 5 spice (yum)
weightwatchers tortellini (haven't pointed yet as old points system)
Splash of white wine in there too.

Feel really full now but will probably have a piece of fruit later.

regular (6-8) glasses of sugar free weak squash

cup of cammommile tea before bed to help me sleep.

mole1 · 25/11/2010 22:04

Hmm - well that menu comes to less than 20 points per day, the program has given me 32 points per day plus 49 extra per week (I weigh 13 st 8 and ought to lose a good 2 stone, am 5ft 10") - so I can eat a lot more than that. It really does seem to be about the same amount that I normally eat - I have been about the same weight for ages and my body has 'settled' at it. I'm just not convinced this diet will work for me at all!

lizandlulu · 25/11/2010 22:09

i am on 34 points and that daily menu would leave me starving. breakfast and tea are ok, but i need alot more for dinner time.

mole are you using any of the 49 weekly points?

vintageteacups · 25/11/2010 22:15

I'm hardly using any weekly points and although my above menu was only 20, I have increased it to 25 by having a lemon mini magnum.
I was 14.5 - now 13.12 but I'm only 5ft 5".
At 5ft 10, I wouldn't have thought 13.8 was that much over what you should be?

I'm on 30 points a day but rarely eat them all and only went into my weekly last week when I ate two sausages instead of 1.

Thing is, for me, I don't want more than the above menu and I feel so much better than eating the carb-loaded food I was craving before - although I did still eat healthly.

lizandlulu · 25/11/2010 22:20

well if your not hungry, you dont want ot be forceing food down do you, (wish i had that problem!)

my leader advises us that if we would want to eat all our points, but find it hard to, then to switch to semi skimmed milk rather than skimmed, and full fat yoghurtsrather than low fat. but it just depepnd what you like doesnt it. even though i love chocolate and have a sweet tooth, i only have skimmed milk. i can taste the fat in semi and really dont like it!

Littlefish · 25/11/2010 22:30

At 5 ft 10, I think the target weight is about 11 and a half to 12 stone.

mole1 · 25/11/2010 22:42

Yes, have been eating some of the 49 extra but not much of it - aren't you really supposed to eat those points then?

I've done Slimming World before and it was quite successful - the Syns there seem similar to the 49 points here. Never used to eat many Syns though.

I'm going to have to have a rethink.

vintageteacups · 25/11/2010 23:13

I'm trying to eat protein with every meal when I can. I restrict carbs anyway and I currently have very low iron so quite tricky to juggle it all!

Good idea liz about increasing to semi milk and full fat yog to up the points.

I have to say mole, I lost more weight when I ate my daily allowance, rather than being below it - strangly enough.

lizandlulu · 26/11/2010 10:53

mole the impression i got was just use the 49 weekly points for if you go out for a meal, or are really craving something. i presume its so you feel more in control and dont think 'well ive blown it this week, may as well just eat what i want', not just to graze on i dont think.

i dont know how i have doe this week, i have followed it as best i can for the first week, will just have to see on monday night

ProzacTheGiggleFairy · 26/11/2010 11:31

I have been following the new points plan for a week now. I was not too impressed with the way it works, as the old points plan worked really well for me.

Unfortunately I have put on 1.5lbs this week & I have been constantly hungry while on it.

I don't think I will be carrying on with it, as I am breastfeeding & the extra points mean that I will only lose about 1 lb per week, which I can do without paying out for ww.

vintageteacups · 26/11/2010 12:58

prozac - although weightwatchers allows you points whilst breastfeeding, perhaps you should wait until you've stopped feeding and then continue with ww.

There areso many emotional ups and downs whilst feeding your baby, that another thing to worry about might add stress you don't need.

If you're hungry whilst BF, eat something healthy. If your body tells you you're hungry when BF, you probably are.

BF itself will help you get your figure back and flatten your tummy etc. Smile

bluebump · 29/11/2010 13:10

First weigh in today on the new plan and i've lost 3lbs Smile

lizandlulu · 30/11/2010 20:05

well done bluebump, i went last night and had lost 2 vpound! which is loads for me, i only ever usually lose 1/2 pound to 1 pound at the most! mostly because i dont try hard enough though.

i have found out i am pg after ttc for 5 months so am very pleased, but didnt know if i should carry on with it. as i am a size 18-20 its not like i am going to be putting muself in danger of anything so i am going to carry on fir the next few months anyway, see how it goes.

mole1 · 30/11/2010 22:32

I've lost 5lbs since the end of last week, but I think that's because I've had a very bad fluey bug!! It will probably go back on when I recover my appetite.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 01/12/2010 11:09

I've lost 4lbs in my first week with WW. I know you usually get a decent loss when you start a new diet and have a lot to lose but I have just changed from 18 weeks of doing SW (lost 2 stone) so I'm not starting from scratch. To say I am delighted is an understatement!

redflag · 03/12/2010 09:21

Well i lost 7lbs much to my team leaders delight. BUT I WAS STILL DOING IT THE OLD WAY Hmm

I really don't want to change over, the old way works for me, so i feel i might ruin it by swapping. Perhaps when i only have a few lbs to go i will swap over

silver28 · 09/12/2010 22:58

7.5 lbs in week 1 and 5.5 lbs in week 2 (today). Am v pleased. But I have shit loads of weight to lose, and I always find I lose weight more quickly when am heavier to start with.
