Thinking of joining Weight Watchers - would you recommend it?

Hi, my friend has asked me to join Weight Watchers with her - I've agreed as I would love to lose some weight before Christmas (and beyond). I have done Slimming World in the past and lost weight but can't seem to get my head around it anymore. Think I need a change.

Would you recommend Weight Watchers? I haven't done it before and don't really understand the points system. I like to cook for my family and do not want to eat ready meals for one!

Many thanks in advance.

I find WW good for cooking family meals. The points system has just had an overhaul so all members are getting their heads around it at the moment. I've always liked the levels of control & freedom I get with ww.

Weight Watchers has moved to Pro Points now. Instead of counting points based on calories and saturated fat the points are now calculated on protein, carbs, total fat and fibre content.

You no longer have to point fruit and most veg is 0 ProPoints. I think the new system is great :)

Oh and you get extra points on top of your daily allowance for treats, weekend splurge etc.
