HELP!! A question for the ladies

I am on week three of my first diet (had a baby 6 weeks ago)
Week one was great with a loss of 6lb and week two a loss of 3lb.

Yesterday was the start of week three and for some reason I decided to weigh myself again this morning and found I have put 3/4lb on, I know it isnt much but how is that possible in 24 hours and I only ate 1000 calories yesterday.

Does it make a difference that I am on this week? I hope so as I really dont get it.

Thank you!

hi nat77
Are you breast feeding or not cos i didn't and i got my period on week 6 after my daughter was dorn so it could be that.

Nat777 · 20/09/2005 12:52

No I am not breast feeding and my period started today, baby is 6 weeks and 1 day.

I wonder if this little weight gain is due to my period?

Oh God, i can gain up to 10lbs when due on my period, it is soul destroying. Keep it up and the next week when you have finished you may have a big happy surprise in your weight loss.

Nat - drinking more water always helped me shift the pounds. Used to get really constipated when due on (sorry if TMI)and awful water retention and so was much heavier (did nothing for PMT either!! lol) but when I started drinking more water - the full 2 litres per day - I stopped getting water retention and my digestive system kept on track too!! good luck!

Nat777

It won't be genuine weight gain - just the normal day to day fluctuations to do with fluid retention / loss etc.

Did you mean 3-4 lbs or three quarters of a pound? Perhaps you need a really big poo

I always find it best just to restrict the weigh ins to the same day each week (same time and with same amount of clothes on) and try not to be temoted into weighing at other times as it can be very disheatening!
Also, I always put weight on the week my period is due!

Nat777 · 20/09/2005 14:42

Three quarters of a pound not three or four, sorry if I didnt make that clear!

I know I should only weigh myself on Mondays, I will have to hide the scales as I find it too tempting!

Thanks for the replies, I guess it must be because I am on. I feel better now! Will have to see what the scales say on Monday and hide them away in the meantime!
