Doing Food Focus to manage my diet and I like to save up most of my calories for the evening, so am looking for filling but low calorie breakfasts (and lunches while we're at it). Any suggestions? Oh, and I'm vegetarian.

I have lost 3 stone on a regime that sounds similar to what you are planning 200 calories for breakfast, 300 fr lunch and the rest in the evening.

Best breakfasts are 2 egg omlette with sliced tomato; poached egg on toast with grilled tomato; 7 tinned prunes in juice with natural yoghurt and 3/4 oz really nice mueslli on top. Also have 2 pieces of toast and honey, or one piece of toast with mashed banana on some days - toast and banana quite filling too.

Asking for filling breakfasts suggests that you are hungry in the mornings. You need some protein, so porridge on its own might not work (unless I am the only person in the world who does not find porridge 'filling')

I would suggest far more calories in the morning eg 600, 400 for lunch and 400 for evening meal or more if you are active or heavier/taller, perhaps with some snacks as well. if you have had decent sized breakfasts and lunches you won't need a large evening meal and won't have spent the entire day waiting to eat in the evening.

Eggs/cheese/wholemeal toast is good. Avoid eating white bread or most cereals without a significant protein element as you will be hungry again within minutes

Tomatoes, mushrooms and egg all piled on toast.

Half tin baked beans on one toast.
