Portion Control?

Hi everyone

I lost 2 stone last year on the heartbreak diet (Husband left last June) but put a stone back on despite "eating healthily"

I have realised its my portion control. I dish up portions far bigger than I should.

In the last fortnight I have switched to ready meals etc and lost 1/2 stone.

I am eating at the same time as the kids, but really miss the family meals. (and even at £1-£2 each ready meals are expensive)

Has anyone else managed to change their portion sizes long term without being on ready meals for the rest of their lives?

I;ve cut out cereal in the mornings completely as I couldnt judge it (and 30g seemed tiny) so have a banana and a yogurt instead. But I would like to go back to dinners with the kids.

I;m guessing this is how those Jenny Craig diets etc work too - you get your food dished up as a portion so theres no over eating, even with healthy food.

I weigh my cereal portions also pasta, keep it to 40g. My problem is snacking, I lost 22lb but put 9lb back on again.

Although weighing everyone out can be a pain.

I also have a set of Rosemary Conley 'portion pots' where you can measure out wine, mashed potato, pasta etc.

I suppose the idea is in time we get used to the sizes we should be having.

ooh, the Rosemary Conley portion pots sound good - where can you get them? is it only if you go to one of their classes?
