Dukan October Starters

Ok, can't face a huge thread so starting a new one.

Starting Dukan tomorrow anyone want to keep my company along the way?
Not sure exactly what I have to lose, will do the first weigh in tomorrow but it's only a small amount. Small but annoying enough....probably 5 - 8 kilograms to lose.
My clothes are not fitting and really bad eating habits are becoming the norm. I like the stages of Dukan so worth a shot.

What about you?

Started last Monday - lost 4lb so far (had a bit of a slip at lunchtime today but have climbed back on the wagon).

Will do attack one more day and start cruise on Tues - providing I haven't put all the weight back on!

I haven't got that much to lose - about 14lb (7 - 8 kilos) - not finding it too bad, but boy do I miss fruit and salad!

myboysarethebest · 03/10/2010 21:45

kdk - we are about the same for weight loss!
Glad to hear you are back on after the lunch, nothing worse to give up entirely.
Good luck with the next few days

hi , i want to join, it's monday and that means DIET but I normally fall off the wagon by Saturday!
I need to get off this yoyo cycle that has plagued me for the last 5 years so please help me start and stay on the straight and narrow .
I need to loose about 6 kgs .
I don't know what i need to do with the dukan diet so what's your advice - Do i need to go out now and buy the book or can use something on-line ?

dustwhatdust · 04/10/2010 11:45

i've just joined the dukan diet coaching plan !
£65 over 3 months for daily coaching direct from the dukan HQ has anyone else done or is doing this ?
I am so desperate, normally i do self diets and never keep to them so I felt I needed a radical( for me ) approach and spending £65 at least reminds me of the investment to keep to the plan - well that's the theory !

Hi

Can I join??

Need to lose about 10kg Blush

Have started today.

I got the book and have read last week and it all seems fairly simple. Fingers crossed for enough willpower...

dustwhatdust · 04/10/2010 21:21

I'm not sure about this Ducan coaching ...?
I haven't got the book as it was an inpulse to join and do the diet this morning. The website is very confusing and so are the forums . I must be really thick but I'm wondering whether it was best investment of sixty quid, for 3 month coaching ?!
Early days as i'll probably get an email tmrw explaining everything...(ever hopeful!)

myboysarethebest · 04/10/2010 22:18

How did day 1 go for everyone??

I survived. Partner put a croissant in front of me and it was almost in my mouth before I realised and said NO!!

Galette pancake worked out ok - not great but ok. Will need to buy a smaller pan as my one makes it too thin.
Just made one for tomorrow and forgot to oil it beforehand - yes it stuck.

Food has been ok - was out and about with my boys all afternoon and chose to snack on crab sticks instead of the muffin and tea!!

Did my weekly weigh in - 8kgs is what I do need to loose.

Going to do attack for five days - easy peasy

my day one started today - tuesday i spent monday evening binging on chocolate in anticiataion of the 2 days of attack that the plan tells me i have to do .
myboys - how have you worked out what you need to loose and how many attack days
necessary? is it formulaic from the book or just what think you need to do ?
today was so so but I wasn't expecting to have to stay at home as DS was ill and off school . therefore i didn't do my usual beloved weekly 2hr walk which i really missed .
I ate today- waitrose finely sliced turkey 70g , plus 2 slices of some normal fine sliced ham from the deli counter + 2 cups of teawith skimmed milk ( breakfast)
lunch - remaining pack of sliced turkey 70g + cup of coffee with skimmed milk
snack in afternoon - muller rasberry and cranberry 0.1 fat yoghurt _+ cup of tea
predinner - 1 boiled egg !!
dinner
loads of finely sliced turkey and ham - was rather piggy and overdid it a bit, then some total 0% greek yoghurt + spoonful of muller light rasperry yoghurt .
still feeling stuffed !

what do you think - am i doing it right ?
is the choice of yoghurt ok ?

May I join? I came onto mumsnet tonight looking for some clues on how to lose weight. I really like the Dukan diet and have ordered a copY from Amazon. I have been on the Dukan website and got an ideal weight of 9st 4lbs which is 25lbs less than now. I have to do 2 days of the Attack phase. My book should be here in a few days so I want to start tomorrow. Given that I don't have the book would anyone mind telling me if I have this right:

Non fat yogurt and cottage cheese
Eggs
Lean meat and fish (no pork and lamb)

Can I have skimmed milk?

Thanks.

Good luck to all of us!

dustwhatdust · 06/10/2010 11:28

Feelingsensitive
yes, thank goodness you are allowed skimmed milk - i couldn't do this without milk in my tea and coffee!
no quantity has been mentioned the website sometimes is so precise about somethings and vague about other , surely it make a difference if you guzzle great volumes of skimmed milk ?

i noticed i've been advised(like you ) to do only 2 days of attack i need to loose 15lbs and other threads on mumsnt about dukan mostly mention 5-7 days of the attack phase. this seems nore logical as the attack phase is to shock your body into letting go of the fat - or something like that ! so i'm due to start the cruise phase tommorrow.

Started on tuesday at 70.5 kgs, today weighed 69.2kg but i always loose quite easily intially, jsut water really is suppose.

dustwhatdust · 06/10/2010 11:29

'scuse my typos !

Feelingsensitive · 06/10/2010 21:36

Thanks for your help. First day went OK except for a few mindless nibbles. No idea what I will have for breakfast tommorow as am not en eg peron. Will go and do some research.

dustwhatdust · 06/10/2010 22:21

FS - I bought some lemon essence today in the baking section in waitrose, i had it- just a drop in my total 0% fat greek yoghurt it was really good , recommend it for breakfast !

ToothpasteMakesMeGag · 10/10/2010 11:25

Can I join please? My MIL has lost 20lbs on this (bitch) and none of my clothes fit me. I have 2st 11lbs to lose and started Dukan yesterday and lost 2lbs!!

Today I made the oatbran into lovely porridge and I am STUFFED! We are off shopping now and the first thing on my list is 'meaty/fishy nibbles' Grin

Please keep updating with your weight losses, I really need the encouragement.
