Now I heading towards my 40th birthday and seen so many mums that look absolutely horrific and many that look glam and fab. I want the latter!

I dont beleive in any of these faddy diets, starvation etc. I'm going to achieve this by increasing my metabolism, fat burning and toning.

Ive started with aqua aerobics and going to mix this with legs/bums etc. I know its hard but after 40 as far as I'm concerned its too late.

Im not a snacker, we eat like gods here, but far too much fat and too bigger portions.

Tonight I am knackered, after aqua last night my body is shot! What excercise is best for a body thats been left to rot for 15 years!

I need motivation and great stories. 2 very young children, workaholic husband and business to run, little help, how can I get through this?

Bacon you sound like you have had a notion and it will work. Towards the end of may i decided that enough was enough - now 42 ds2 turned 4 and was roughly 2 and a bit stone overweight at 11st 10lb am 5ft 1. I had not exercised for nearly 10 years and went swimming at first (although am a good swimmer almost forgot how to do it) built up to 1mile x 3 a week, legs and bums which at first killed me and after 2 months the shred. Eat normally but used food focus to monitor cals and get used to more healthy eating. I have found it all fairly straightforward and am now 9st 6lb so over 2 stone so far - set myself 8st 10lb target as it will be a full 3 stone and my bmi will be 22. I have never in my life dieted and you can do it (bad moment was when i was so sweaty the dumbbell in legs, bumbs and tums slipped out of my hand and clonked the poor lady next to me! Blush - my other tip is porridge in the morning and mountains for melon and blueberries and raspberries. Hope to reach target in Nov but no way going back i know my limits now and loving buying clothes for the first time in 10 years.

Bacon

Your plan sounds sensible, I too hate faddy diets that are hard to maintain n the long run.

I need to lose a bit myself (about 8 lbs)and have started a similar regime about 3 weeks ago and for me portion control, lots of water and exercise have made a big difference.

Agree w. Karen on the porridge suggestion it's a brilliant breakfast!!!

With exercise I think it helps to try different things that work different muscles. I just recently bought a bike and it's great for saddle bags, thighs, and core muscles.

Good luck with your weight loss Bacon Smile
