Is anyone else in Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Club

Hi

I started at a Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness club last week and weigh in this week. The first week has been good, although I have slipped a couple of times already! The diet is do-able and actually rather good.

I just wondered if anyone else is doing it and would like to share tips.

I am very keen to get fit as well as slim, and most of all to get healthy. I am hoping to make a lifestyle change and I know it will take time.

Good luck to all other slimmers out there.

Hello,

I've been wondering about joining RC online as the nearest club is about 60 miles away, but it is very expensive. Ideally I'd like to loose 2 stone or in my dreams 3 stone!

I can't eat dairy or meat, so would I find it difficult to follow do you think?

I like the tape measure idea, where you can see how many inches you've lost. I tried Slimming World, and stuck to it but never lost more a pound a week. In the end I got fed up of the leader telling me I wasn't sticking to it.

Hope you've had a good week, let us know how much you've lost.

Italiangreyhound · 23/09/2010 00:45

Hi bluedomino

Thanks for asking. I lost 4 and a half pounds after one week and then I lost 1 and a half pounds yesterday. So 6 pounds in 2 weeks.

I think one of the big attractions for Rosemary Conley (for me) is the exercise so if you will do it on line, will you be able to get the exercise dvds and use them at home?

If you can't eat dairy or meat I would email the Rosemary Conley head office and ask them direct if they have a special diet plan for people like you. If you decide to do it, you would need to find a protein and milk substitute, which I think is do-able, so if you can find suitable things - then, yes, I think it would work.

I would be tempted to ask at your GP surgery for a special diet plan. I think it is important not to miss out on key nutrients.

Do you mean you went to slimming world and lost a pound a week? Each week? If so that is good, you are only meant to lose a pound or two a week. That way the weigh has more chance of staying off. I think a pound a week is very good.

At 1 pound a week you would lose 2 stone in 28 weeks, which is like now to April and 3 stone - 42 weeks, that is like from now until next year's school summer hols. But the good thing is that every week you would be a bit lighter!

Just out of interest, since giving up Slimming World are you still loosing a pound a week or have you stayed the same or put the weight on?

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

PS bluedomino

This site may interest you as the lady mentionedd is a vegan, which is similar to your food restrictions.

I did RC a few years ago and lost 3 stone in about 4 months. But I didn't go to any classes or anything. I just bought RC cook books, devised my own weekly menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and used RC work out DVDs in the evenings. It worked for me.

I also used slimfast shakes to take out with me if I knew I wasn't going to home for lunch or had a slimfast if I couldn't make breakfast one morning.

Stick at it. You will see results.

ppeatfruit · 24/09/2010 12:26

hello all!! Paul Mckenna is the best way to re educate yr atitude to food so you never feel hungry and also eat good food. It works!! All are welcome on our threadSmile

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2010 23:38

Lost another 2 and a half pounds today. So glad it is working! I am also re-learning about eating. Managed to have a handful of pretzals tonight and not eat the whole bag!

Lost another 2 and a half pounds this week, that is over 10 in 5 weeks. Is no one else on Rosemary Conley??

OP posts:
TINKERBELLE33 · 16/10/2010 22:59

Hi Italiangreyhound. I go to RC too and like you have lost 10.5lbs in first 5 weeks. Couldn't go this week so not sure about weight lost but have lost another inch Smile Sadly gonna have to miss another week but then should be back on track. This is my second time with RC, lost over 3 stones last time but sadly put it all back on during my pregnancies. Hope it's another good week for you.

Italiangreyhound · 20/10/2010 02:22

Tinkerbelle33 Thank you so much for your encouragement. I have to miss class next week so I am going to find an alternative one to go to (I am a premier member so can go to any class). I must say I love the exercise but the weight loss has been slow. I suffer from IBS so my tummy is bloated so even though I am losing weight I don?t feel slimmer yet!

Good luck when you next weigh in.

Just bumping this after doing a search - my friend is dragging me to an RC class on friday - I've looked on the website but can't find any recipes / meal plans the like of which WW and SW usually have.

Any suggestions as to the kind of meals RC people have?

Italiangreyhound · 01/12/2010 23:52

TINKERBELLE33 how is it going?

MaudOHara Hi, sorry it's been a whole month since your post! The Rosemary Conley magazine has lots of recipe ideas and I have tried some and they are lovely.

I have been going to Rosemary Conley nearly a year and have lost 1 and 1/2 stone now. I like it because it has the exercise in the class as well and I think it gives you a healthier attitude to food.

I did ww about 10 years ago and much prefer RC

TINKERBELLE33 · 04/12/2010 14:38

Hi everyone hope it's going well.

Italiangreyhound Almost at 1 1/2 stone or was a few weeks ago. Had to miss last two classes as DD at hospital and then snow too bad to drive. Have slipped into old habits too as had birthday recently so lots of cake to eat up Blush So much for size 14 by Christmas! Need to get back on track but really lost my motivation. Probably just need a weigh in to shame me back into things!

Italiangreyhound · 04/12/2010 22:49

ShirleyL yes I did weight watchers too but I feel that with Rosemary Conley if I go to class and even if I have put on or not lost then at least I get a 45 minute work-out. Which means I leave class already burning more calories. So for me, yes, it is much better.

*Tinkerbell33& Wow, that is brilliant, not the cake thing - the weight-loss so far!

I am so encouraged by you both. I am struggling as DD and DH both had their birthdays at the end of last month and now it is Christmas so I am surrounded by cake! I am feeling much more motivated! I did enjoy a lovely weight watchers soup for lunch and low calorie curry for dinner, so feeling on track at last!

Best wishes to you both.

I joined in August and have lost just over a stone. I joined as a Premier member (here it's £22.50 a month for 2 classes a week). I thought that was good value with the magazine free and your starter kit. We have a really friendly and supportive group where I get weighed and we all do have our weeks that we gain! But I do always feel motivated and happier after class.

The people who said they follow special diets - I have allergies and I found the diet quite accommodating as I stick to the 5% or under low fat rule and adapted as I don't drink milk at all which is on the diet. I think it's a great diet with exercise plan you can follow - definitely recommend.

Italiangreyhound · 05/12/2010 18:44

Galaxymum that is very encouraging to hear. Well done. I hope it will work well for you.

Do you check out the website and see the stories of people who have lost. They are so encouraging.

Especially this one:

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and managing to keep up the good work. Well miracles do happen as I managed to lose another 3 pounds despite all the cake! It will definately be a different story this week though as I've already demolished a box of chocs and a bottle of wine. There's just too much temptation around at the moment - well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it Grin

Coffeebeans · 13/12/2010 21:31

rosemary conley is great! I've not joined a club, i've been following '6 ways to lose a stone in 6 weeks'. I started in June (14st 7lbs) i'm now 10st 10lbs. I gained 3st when I was pg (ds now 7mo) & I was overweight beforehand. I still can't believe i've done so well! I love food. The family plan really suits me, I swap meals about, so it doesn't feel too strict & it's nice to feel that i'm still in control of what I eat. Her excersises are ok too.

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2010 20:09

TINKERBELLE33 Wow, well done. I lost a pound. BUT I also used my magic tape measure and I have lost weight off my widest part, my legs and arms. I am not sure about my boobs, but my tummy and hips are the same - actually I think I used the wrong colour tags as it looks like my waist was wider than my hips and that can't be right! Still it encouraged me to lose a pound and a few centimeters!

Coffeebeans WOW June to December (6 or 7 months and you have gone from 14st 7lbs to 10st 10lbs!!! Amazing. You should be so proud of youself. That is nearly 4 stone which is a really good rate. Do you also do the exercise? What are your secrets for staying on track with the food side of it?

Really encouraging ladies.

Thanks [fbear]

bluedomino, firsttimemum77, ppeatfruit, TINKERBELLE33, ShirleyL, MaudOHara, Galaxymum and Coffeebeans , hi all, how are you all doing?

I went back to Rosemary Conley yesterday. It was hard hearing I had not kept up the good work but the exercise was fun! I am back on the positive side and back on the wagon again!

Watched a very moving documentary last night.

Would reccommend watching this about a man who was about 55 stone (not 70 stone as they said in the article - which just goes to show they did not actually watch the documentary when they wrote the article!). It is very sad and moving, yes, you feel frustrated watching it but he was addicted to food and it really does make you think I wonder how it can happen

Watch it: here

Read about it: news.bbc.co.uk/local/suffolk/hi/people_and_places/newsid_9341000/9341368.stm

It is actually quite interesting and although sad and upsetting it does make you realise there is a much bigger picture (if you excuse the pun!).

Have managed to keep up the exercise, how are the rest of you doing?

I have been to a keep fit class, swimming and for two works since Tuesday. I am really hoping it will be a good result on Tuesday.

I lost 2 pounds at Rosemary Conley and was slimmer of the week this week. Not a big loss but slow and sure.

Anyone else?

TINKERBELLE33 · 13/01/2011 22:36

Hi Italiangreyhound - I finally faced the music last night. Hadn't been to class for over a month and have put on 3 lbs - not too bad really as I have eaten anything & everything over christmas. Congratulations on SOW and well done - I need to get back on the wagon but the cupboards are still bursting!

Italiangreyhound · 14/01/2011 18:19

TINKERBELLE33 Well done on only putting on less than a pound a week. I put on 8 yes count them 8 pounds in a day under 3 weeks, that is almost 3 pounds a week!! Can't quite belive what happened.

If the cupboards are bursting maybe you need to give your skinny friend a treat! (or two)

All the best.
