Does anyone use smaller plates to limit portion sizes?

None of us is particularly overweight, but I could do with losing a good stone and I know we all eat too much. So I think smaller dinner plates is the way forward. Ours are a standard 27cm. What would be a realistic smaller size? You can get 23cm 'salad plates' but do you think that would be big enough?

Good question. I use the fancy pasta dish with nice dip and big rim so the actual size is small. But yr brain may say your being ripped off if too small. I always make sure my dinner is half to 3/4 the size of my husbands. He doesnt have huge portions - good sized as he's a big fella, manual worker.

I deff fail on portion size as I dont snack or eat badly. My portions used to be the same as my husbands and thats wrong!
