Finding the time

16m
Dh gone M-F
I need to lose weight. I've been cutting back on food, but know I need to get moving more to lose the weight unless I drastically cut back on food (which would be unhealthy).
I'm just so tired ALL the time. Not lazy tired. Tired. Weary. Down trodden. How do I do it?
Give me some tips?

Try walking. Walk rather than drive. Seems like a long slog at first but a bit of fresh air will help your general down-ness. Make sure that if you're cutting back then what you are eating is good stuff not just less crap stuff. Why don't you come and join one of the threads? Our LBD one is full of nice people who'll gently help you get your mojo back?

Just one other thing, and I hesitate to mention... PND? Tell me to get stuffed if you want but it's worth addressing if you're feeling that bad.

Good luck.

Bebemoo - sorry you're feeling low - the change in weather cant be helping. I'd give you the following tips: walk where you can. Try exercise dvds 3 times a week (Davina 30 minute works outs are a good start) - put it in your diary and make yourself do it. You'll probably find you're more energised after the exercise than before (good endorphins). Drink lots of water (at least 2 litres a day). Dont drastically cut back on food - you need to eat to give you energy to deal with your little one. Just make sure you eat the right food (lots of fruit and veg, no processed food) and you will see results.

Thanks ladies.
Driving for the most part is a must except for very light grocery shopping unfortunately as we're in the 'burbs and no where near by to go to otherwise. When the weather is nice we walk up to the park which is really nice (but very slow going) but as she walks longer and longer we'll be able to do more so I'm holding out for that.

As for food cutting back. I'm not cutting out the veg or meat; I've cut down the bread and potatoes and I've stopped sweets entirely (but to be honest I was hardly eating any how except on rare occasions). I do not drink enough fluids I know for sure and so I'm working on the water intake.

30min to workout seems an impossible time for me right now. If I work out for 30 minutes then that means I'm not cleaning the house (which doesn't seem right somehow). Do you sacrifice the house for yourselves? If I don't clean the house then I've just got to somehow try to fit that in somewhere else or try to do it when dh is home on the weekends, which is not very likely to happen. Even the idea makes me feel very very guilty. :(

It's not PND. I'm depressed a bit it's true, but not properly depressed as I still have a ok(ish) outlook on life and not everything is going to be sh*t...I'm just going to look it. And I'm not seeing a way away from that really. So If I don't find a solution I may get to proper depression mode yet.

But I will try walking more, and keep the food portions down and healthy, and try to remember to drink my water.

Ok -if 30 minutes doesnt work, try the 10 minute solution dvds. I think you should sacrifice 10 minutes of cleaning time for exercise time for you (and when cleaning the house do it vigorously - every little bit of exercise helps) - and make sure DH has one on one time with your DC when he's around at the weekend for half an hour to an hour so you can exercise on one of those days. Dont feel guilty - you look after the home and your child 24/7 Monday to Friday; he'll probably relish the thought of a small amount of one on one time with your DC and have a happier wife who is happier about doing something for herself to lose the weight.
