or at least slim down a bit... I feel flabby and disgusting :( I'm 5st overweight and size 18.

can't do anything too drastic as I'm BFing my boob monster 1yo DS.

no idea what to do really, so far all I have is:

  • chocolate, crisps etc only at weekends
  • walk to and from preschool with DD instead of getting bus.
  • plan snacks in advance and have veggie sticks etc, rather than waiting too long to eat and then craving something unhealthy.

any other ideas? unfortunately gym etc isn't really an option due to funds and location (no car)

Spooky, I'm going away on the same day and also need to shed some weight!! I'm going to do an eating plan and try and jog or work out at home for 30 mins every day. Walking to preschool sounds like a good plan.

Can you bear to knock out crisps and choc altogether, or at least switch to low fat crisps and something like chocolate fingers or jaffa cakes for the next few weeks? They're surprisingly low cal if you can stop at a couple..

Can you maybe do an exercise dvd in the evenings? You can pick one up off Amazon for a few pounds.

I'd really the recommend Food Focus website too, it shows you how many calories you need. I'd try and cut down on bread, potatoes, anything processed, cooked in oil etc. I love sliced potatoes, baked in the oven with a tiny spray of olive oil and some sea salt. I promise they taste as good as normal chips..

I'm starting properly tomorrow - am waiting for someone to start a September challenge thread so I can get on that!

ooh what are the challenge threads about?

I am currently going through the Asda grocery website removing anything processed/unhealthy from my favourites. it's quite shocking how much had wheedled its way in there over the last few months Shock Blush

i followed this

I did it last september and i lost over one stone in the 56 days i followed it.

IMHO it is the best thing and i have gone on to lose over another a 2 stones but not following it to the letter but having the thoughts in the back of my mind. I have kept all the weight of and i can't reccommend it enough.

I started a challenge thread in the end, come and join us! I think if I have a time frame to focus on I'm much better. Otherwise I always think I'll start tomorrow, and tomorrow never quite happens.

Algebra, that's a really good idea, I dread to think what's on my favourites list. Am going to have to be disciplined with the dc's lunch box food too, it always looks so tempting!!

AlgebraRocksMySocks · 31/08/2010 17:16

I had extra incentives to do the favourites-list-pruning - it'll save money for the holiday! and probably better for the DCs too :)

Algebra...a good way of losing quickly is to NEVER eat carbs and protein together, eat fruit before a meal, give up caffeine and alcohol and watch it all melt away!!
