I seem to remember hearing somewhere that if you don;t sleep you won't lose weight.

Or something like that. I think I may have some proof. After a few months when I hardly slept due to stress and hay fever and heat, I had got as fat a as a pudding. Couldn't do up my jeans - only my loosest ones fitted at all. Last three nights I slept like a log and lo! I can get my jeans on again.

Is that just coincidence? Water loss? Or is them some truth in it?

In just 3 nights? Thats pretty impressive.

I know that if I don't sleep well I crave carbs and sugar to give me that quick energy fix. When I do sleep well, I don't feel the need to eat so much and can live happily on fruit, salad and all things healthy!

I am positive that there is truth in it!

i sleep constantly but struggle to put on weight.

however if you google weight loss and sleep theres lots of sites that say its true

maybe i should sleep more....yay!

My Dh has just been telling me about this.

Apparently it's to do with Melatonin production.

I thought it was the extra wine I was having but I'm not so sure now. I wake at 3am every night and cannot return to sleep. It's been like this for a month.

Now I'm gaining weight, mainly around my stomach area, when normally I don't gain any and can eat what I like.

Yes spiritmum. Also sorky I've noticed as I get older i put on weight much quicker!!Wine is def. NOT slimming!!
