high fibre diets?

really dumb question, because the obvious answer is "fibre" but what does this consist of? i was watching 10 years younger last week and they said that she had been on a high fibre diet and doing exercise to lose her weight on her stomache, and she lost quite a bit off her tummy (my major prob area) so iwas wondering if it is a special kind of diet? do you eat normally and healthily but just try to eat a lot of fibre, or are there strict rules about what you can and cant eat?

and dumbest question of all, apart from shredded wheat - what foods are high in fibre!!!????

I think a high fibre diet is eating loads of fruit, veg, brown bread, wholemeal pasta etc and cutting back on sugary, refined food

that sounds quite easy - well easy enough to follow i think, might give it a go! though pasta was meant to be bad for you - or are you only allowed the wholemeal stuff, (which i hate!)

I think pasta is okay for you, it is the quantity and the fattening sauces that go with it. So if you have pasta with lean chicken or mince, a tomato sauce and loads of veg then that is good. If you have lasagne with extra cheese and half a loaf of garlic bread to go with it (which is how I like it!) that is bad!
