I need or rather want to lose about 2 stone.
I am 12st exactly and want to be 10st I tried WW but it didn't work.

Also why when I eat so little am I not losing anything? I have never been a big eater

a typical day

Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - most days nothing sometimes a sandwich on WW bread.
Dinner - (last night) 1 pork chop, jacket potato with cheese and butter, peas, mix veg.

you have your meals the wrong way round - you should have a good breakfast, small lunch and an even smaller dinner.

your body will compensate for not eating anything until dinnertime by laying down fat cells, because it thinks you are starving!

that is probably why you are not losing the weight.

you need to exercise to burn off more calories than you take in, and your body will start to burn the fat cells and you will lose weight.

HTH

I would say - your body is in starvation mode and you need to eat more to loose weight bizarre though it sounds.

Your diet is quite unhealthy - not enough fibre, fruit or veg.

Your body needs food to function. I did slimming world and lost 2 stone and quite often if people hadn't lost, the consultant would ask if they were eating enough and it would turn out that they thought they could speed things up by not eating.

why do you not eat brekkie and lunch? Do you not feel ill or light headed?

Do you drink loads of water?

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/07/2010 07:21

I drink coffee - am trying to cut down as i can drink 15+ cups a day if I am at home all day.

I have never like breakfast even as a child, when I eat in the mornings i feel sick until about 10am then i can eat with no probs.

I am normally busy doing things so quite often end up making lunch for DS's and forget myself in other things I am doing.

I walk most places i go, excercise - well on the wii.

The weight is on my stomach hips and tops of thighs.

above and below that is fine lol.

have you had your iron levels checked - if you are tired all the time you could have low iron or thyroid probs

ppeatfruit · 28/07/2010 18:08

Quit the coffee i lost weight as soon as i stopped ONE cup of coffee a day!! Green tea is a good substitute with a mint t bag for flavour. Tiredness is the body reacting to all that coffee also wheat.

ppeatfruit · 28/07/2010 18:13

Take a magnesium supplement to help the coffee dtox and try a little fruit in the mornings and see how you get on. Oh the nausea is probably caused by the coffee as well!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/07/2010 18:13

Jo, my iron was very low as a teen. never thought to have it checked again tbh.
I tend to steer clear of dr's unless really ill.

Do you drink wine in the evenings?

Are you sure you don't have the odd biscuit in the day?

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/07/2010 23:21

Nope not a biscuit person as a rule. I actually bought some today from poundland as they were on special offer lol
3 pkts for £1.50 and have had 2 biscuits thats it.

And I rarely drink wine in the evenings unless I am celebrating or out.

Seriously - if you are tired all teh time it is something that should be checked by your doc - low iron/anemia, thyroid & depression can all make you feel tired. & anemia & thyroid probs if left unchecked can harm the body.

racmac · 29/07/2010 08:45

Your probably tired all the time because you are not eating properly.
Cut out all that coffee and eat instead!

The dinner is fine but you need to be eating something in the morning and a proper lunch

susall · 29/07/2010 09:34

I would look into cutting wheat out of your diet as I get really tired when I eat anything with more than a smigin of wheat in it. Its hard but you can ger wheat free pasta and bread in most supermarkets. Drink plenty of water keep a pint glass beside you and keep refilling throughout the day, green tea has caffine too but it helps you lose weight so double benifit. A walk is still good excercise so grab the kids and go for a wander if you can. I struggle to lose weight no mater how much I eat and how closley I follow my diet so good luck.

ppeatfruit · 31/07/2010 13:58

Susali you are SOO right about wheat and if you're really following a diet maybe u need to do more + different exercise eg. dancing. Paul Mckenna is brill (on here).

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/08/2010 23:25

Where do I find the Paul McKenna thing?

Slimming World- I gained 5 stone during my last pregnancy and lost it all within 6 months through doing SW. It's really easy, nothing is forbidden and if you are feeling hungry then you're not doing it right. It's easy to fit it into your lifestyle and you don't have to avoid going to places, eating out or even having take-aways. It is healthy and the groups are very supoprtive and friendly. I would highly recommend it as a way of life and not a 'diet'.

ppeatfruit · 03/08/2010 11:01

TheLady You can buy the book and DVD amazon or Smiths we are on a thread here as well. Yes I hear that SW is good. TheBreast LOL at the name!

KayleighKaya · 10/11/2010 11:13

im doing celebrity slim and its good so far. I dont want a diet that im in the kitchen weighing stuff and looking at charts all day. im too busy. this is really easy to keep to and its just meal replacement and they taste good so its not hard to swap meals.

JuneBugJr · 10/11/2010 11:53

Try zoe harcombe. I tried ww and slimming world, but found the food quite tasteless, and struggled to lose weight with them. Probably because I was cheating when I got fed up of fat free everything. It does sound like you're eating a lot, so you're body will hang on to whatever excess weight you have.

I Lost a lot of weight with no real effort, in a few months with zoe harcombe diet. And still really enjoyed my food, which made all the difference to me sticking to it.

JuneBugJr · 10/11/2010 11:54

Sorry, that meant to read 'you're not eating a lot'

Lynli · 10/11/2010 20:52

There is a theory that too much caffeine causes insulin resistance, which makes you gain weight especially around your middle.
