Reta anyone?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if anyone is on Reta? I’ve been back and forth with the idea of mounjaro for a couple of months but everyone I know now is taking Reta and having no side effects and feeling fine on it. I’ve been put off mounjaro with people having side effects of bad headaches, diarrhea or constipation so I just decided I wouldn’t bother but now seeing so many people talking about Reta I’m wondering whether I should try that?

Just looking for any advice or anyone that’s currently using it and how they’re finding it?

I’m intrigued about reta too. Heard possible fluid retention can happen. Might be an idea to start with microdosing.

Anyone using "reta" is getting whatever they're taking* illegally from black market online sellers. The drug isn't yet authorised or licensed. They're playing russian roulette with their own health.

*not actual retatrutide from the manufacturer but actually god knows what.

Really? I’ve heard that a painful death is far more likely when taking illegal drugs, but if you want to risk death to save a few quid, be my guest

I would imagine this pp is referring to the fact that variations on "what about reta?" thread appear weekly in this topic.

Some are more disingenuous than others and thinly veiled plugs for dodgy websites.

A couple of people I know are getting ‘reta’ from our local private prescription doctor and pay a fortune for it. He doesn’t know anything about weight loss, but it’s all about the cash for him innit.

If you read the link posted upthread you'll see that MN are quite reticent to delete, frustratingly. I've reported many of these threads and only the blatant offers of "DM me for details" get removed.

It just means, as @ScaramoucheCanYouDoTheFandango we end up needing to repeat the same warning stuff over and over for the benefit of the hard of thinking, and to stop new people getting sucked in.

It’s not licensed yet so when people say “Reta” they mean peptides from China purporting to be reta. But who knows what you are injection. I’d say Russian roulette but more Chinese roulette…

Mounjaro is a safe licensed product, I’ve personally had no side effects and I save money by doing split doses (ie make a pen last 2-3 months).

If this is true and he's a qualified, registered Dr - private or not - then he needs reporting. What he is doing is illegal.

Unless he is part of an Eli Lilly clinical trial, which it doesn’t sound like he is, I call bullshit.

Drs cannot prescribe illegal medication.

Completely agree with what you’ve said, but I can tell you it’s real.

Can put money on OP getting DMs covertly pointing them to one of the many very plausible looking websites that these sophisticated criminals use and telling them we are talking nonsense. Madness it is allowed.

On the slim chance he has a real Dr prescribing this and risking years of medical school and his license I’d report him.

But I very much doubt it’s real, he is being duped and all you know is what he tells you 2nd hand.

anyway…. This is what I was thinking of it’s not yet licensed I was wondering where people are getting it from and what it actually is? All I know so far is around 8 people I know are taking it and they’re all fine and losing weight which is why I didn’t want to ask them because they’re obviously only going to be positive about it. Was looking for a bit more information really.

It's the total misinformation that's impressive on these sorts of posts. Retatrutide has not passed its Phase 3 trials yet, and so far the rates of discontinuation on the clinical trials is higher than that of previous GLP1s. It's showing at up to 18% of participants dropping out of the clinical trials due to adverse side effects. Mounjaro it was around 6% and Wegovy around 8%. So it's not true at all that "reta" produces fewer side effects, and that's with the actual medication, not some black market who-knows-what substance.

@lalafox don't be an absolute mug and buy black market crap off dodgy websites. There are many legal and regulated options for weight loss medication, if you are actually overweight or obese.
