Reta anyone?

lalafox · Yesterday 15:48

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if anyone is on Reta? I’ve been back and forth with the idea of mounjaro for a couple of months but everyone I know now is taking Reta and having no side effects and feeling fine on it. I’ve been put off mounjaro with people having side effects of bad headaches, diarrhea or constipation so I just decided I wouldn’t bother but now seeing so many people talking about Reta I’m wondering whether I should try that?

Just looking for any advice or anyone that’s currently using it and how they’re finding it?

I really wouldn't be lecturing others on common sense if you're seriously thinking of going down this path.

I came in looking for advice from people more knowledgeable than myself. I never once said yes I’m ordering it and starting it. Is that not okay to ask?

Just go on mounjaro. You may not even have side effects

SilenceInside · Yesterday 16:40

I am struggling to understand the logic in the OP. You are concerned about the possible side effects of a tested, regulated legal medication so instead you think you might buy black market illegal products and use that instead. Clearly that is not going to be safer.

You seemed very attracted to the idea in your opening post and it wasn't clear at that point if you were even aware it was illegal.

But, if you've been put off by the info and advice then that's all that really matters. And it's why @ScaramoucheCanYouDoTheFandango and me and the others do take the time to post on threads like this, rather than scrolling on by, as you suggest. Even though it is quite frustrating when they pop up so frequently.

Because if it stops one person making a foolish decision, it's worth it.

If you read my other posts you will see that that was one of my questions. If it’s not approved where is it coming from? Obviously asking the people I know they’re going to say oh it’s come from a trustworthy source. I was looking for as I said early people more knowledgeable than myself to have a better idea about it.

Just to clarify you’re upset mumsnet posters aren’t looking to give you advice on taking illegal fake drugs?

Just to clarify AGAIN I was looking for information from people that may know more than myself. That is all. No need to be rude about it. You can say it’s unsafe etc in a normal manner

For someone who’s fed up with threads on this topic you sure do comment a lot. Not interested then scroll past. Common sense really

Medication that has been fully tested and prescribed by an authorised professional within the Law and with a secure supply chain to make it trustworthy, or

Buy random shit from a mate of a mate down the gym in the hope that where it says it isn't approved or safe to take that it's actually just an illegally sourced item that hasn't been left in unhygienic conditions, hasn't been knocked up by a random enslaved person and hasn't been fucked around with to make money like any other illegal substance.

Common sense, really.

I think the main thing is even if there are people taking it, they’re not allowed to answer your question here OP (in the way you want anyway) because they’re not allowed to discuss / promote, even inadvertently, use of illegal drugs. You would be better going to Reddit maybe?

I’m sorry, I don’t comprehend how it’s rude, you’re asking for information from people who may know more about fake drugs bought illegally? You know reta is not yet licensed, so you know no one is on it. You also must then know only fakes are on thr market, and you can only buy that dodgy stuff illegally

ask your friends.

Completely agree with what you’ve said, but I can tell you it’s real.

In the Uk? If so report him.

Actually, you think it’s the real thing??

Daisywhatsyouranswer · Yesterday 17:06

Ok there is no real reta, it is not approved or sold anywhere in the world

what’s sold is fake product,no one here can advise you who makes it, rumours are rhe Chinese, its like asking who makes cocaine.

I’m not looking for people to promote it. If I didn’t want to know more I’d just go by the people that I know that are on it. I don’t know any medical professionals, scientists etc. just thought I would be able to get more factual information here. No one has said anything negative to me about it which is why I came here looking for opinions of people that may be much more knowledgeable than myself. It’s just the way some people respond. Theres just no need really. I could order it today if I wanted to but I haven’t because I don’t know the risks involved in taking it. I didn’t even know it was illegal. This is the first time I’ve actually asked other people about it.

SilenceInside · Yesterday 17:10

I think people are just a bit surprised at the claim of not knowing anything at all about it. A simple internet search would tell you immediately that it isn't legally available in the UK or anywhere and that anyone taking "reta" today is buying black market fakes made in unregulated labs in China, and distributed by organised crime groups. That information is easily found.

yeah I do get that but I have googled it but I also know people can write anything online that’s untrue. I just thought maybe there could be a medical professional on here to give me factual information on exactly what it is or where it is supposedly being made

Op, it’d not licensed. This means there is no product produced. Anywhere in the world. It’s not licenced!

When it is licensed only the manufacturer will be able to do so, under strict conditions.

as such, anything proclaiming to be reta is not, it’s fake product, an illegal drug. Unlikely to be the same molecules. Because there is no Reta globally

SilenceInside · Yesterday 17:31

Ok, so people on here could easily claim to be medical professionals and tell you any old nonsense. Asking anonymous posters online is not a good way of getting reliable verifiable information.

If you do a search on Google for "what is reta", you get results on the first page from clearly legitimate UK pharmacies (Superdrug for example), from Eli Lilly who manufacture it, and so on. They are legitimate medical people writing accurate information. Surely you must realise that?

So people are paying upwards of £200 for a pen that in reality they have absolutely zero idea what it contains.

Yes because it’s not licenced! Is this the confusion. Do you not understand what that means?

The drug is not licensed anywhere in the world. It is not 8n manufacturing anywhere in the world. As it is not licensed.

no registered pharmacy or doctor prescribes it. As it is not licensed. It is not available it is not manufactured.

anyome making it is not the manufacturer. It is some fake lab , n0 one knows what in the vials, it could be anything, there is no quality chain, it’s illegal no one can tell you who makes it, rumour has it its some dodgy Chinese firms. But they are not making Reta.

Yes. Such is their desperation and/or ignorance. Some people may well come on here and say that they send off what they purchase to a lab somewhere to check what's in the vials/pens, which can tell you at least if the medication is chemically the same as what it's claiming to be. But I doubt your 8 mates are all doing that.

Sulgari · Yesterday 17:37

I know someone who started taking “reta” and he’s been fucked with horrendous stomach issues requiring OOH medical attention

Total stupidity

And I doubt they can confirm it’s a drug not in manufacture as they canr test against it, all they can do is say it won’t kill you or leave you wirh life changing damage, but I suspect they are buying it off some dodgy hair dresser, someone down the gym or tik tok shop

Yes this is it, in a nutshell.

its quite probable that in the future when it’s tested and approved it will be a great option but right now its completely unregulated. You have no certainty what’s actually in any product. Given the many legitimate options it’s crazy to even consider.

ScaramoucheCanYouDoTheFandango · Yesterday 18:40

Well that was a u-turn from wondering whether you should try it and wanting info from others who have tried it to then wanting medical advice.

Hopefully knowing it is illegal, unregulated and sold by criminals you know enough now to stay well clear. There is really no need to know more, if you do I'm sure ChatGPT (I'm being serious it could be helpful) could have a detailed conversation with you about all your questions and the risks of illegal drugs.

If you want trustworthy medical advice about reta, and because you have no way of knowing the credentials of anyone on here (or reddit, or tiktok), best bet is to speak to your provider or GP.
