Breakfast ideas on MJ and keeping calories low

I am not a big eater for breakfast.
I always have a homemade latte and, before MJ, I used to eat also a toast with flora and jam. That was enough until lunch time, with the addition of another latte at around 11am.
Now I am not sure on what to eat anymore. If I eat that toast, I will use already around 200 calories, which I would like to save for the rest of the day.
I am not a huge eater of eggs (at breakfast) or porridge and I do not like overnight oats, I am not keen on cereals like weetabix....
What does everyone eat? I am just looking for ideas. Many thanks! :)🙂

My favourite at the moment is 10g soaked chia seeds, two Weetabix soaked with some soya milk, 100g Greek yoghurt and some chopped berries on top. I find it best to try and have lots of fibre with breakfast.

I’ve stopped lattes and now drink americano with a splash of milk.

I eat 125g YeoValley full fat Greek yoghurt, 10g of oats and 1 teaspoon honey. Maybe some raspberries. Just under 200cal. You can eat toast and jam with that amount as well but I found it spikes my blood sugar significantly so I moved to yoghurt.

That lasts until lunch and longer depending when I eat it.

You can play around with whatever yoghurt works for you, fat free is less in calories or you just have a smaller portion.

I don't like shakes so my protein comes from food and that already gives me 12g,

I aim for 1200-1300cal per day and loose between 1-2lbs per week.

I’m the same OP, as I never eat breakfast normally and not keen on milk or yoghurt with cereals either.

HOWEVER, I have since concluded that this is just another factor of my poor eating habits that has contributed to me being around 5 stones overweight!!

Since starting MJ, I have lost over 4 stones and I’m trying to implement sensible diet changes that are a long term lifestyle change rather than seeing the weight loss as a quick fix and return to my previous rubbish eating patterns.

I do a fruit salad, apple, grapes, some melon and then a protein shake with collagen. It’s not my favourite but gets me started and very low calorie

That’s more calories than the op said. You will easily cover more than 200 calories with what you’ve described

I've never been a big breakfast eater and even less so now on MJ so I skip it and save the calories for later. I actually find 16:8 fasting works for me so I eat a high protein lunch about 12.30 and then dinner about 6.30 and that's it. Usually a couple of apples and satsumas some time in the day too.

I’m like you. Never wanted breakfast so I don’t bother. Lunch and tea only, losing 2-2.6lbs a week now that it has slowed down, but I’m still almost 16st so I know when that drops further I’ll slow more.

47.6lbs off for me since 6th May 🥳

You could have a single slice of toast (blue warburtons) folded into a sandwich, with 5g of butter (lurpak), and 2-4 of the packet chicken slices for:

  • Bread/toast: 98 kcal
  • Chicken slices (4): 48 kcal
  • Butter 5g: ~36 kcal

Total of 182 calories, and around 15g of protein
