Anyone considering a tummy tuck after losing weight with injections?

so decided I’m going to treat myself to a tummy tuck since I’ve lost 4 stone on WLI. Got about half a stone to go then I’ll say goodbye to the c section overhang

has anyone else decided to have one since losing the weight?

I'd love one but dont think i can justify the cost. Are you in the uk? If so are you having it done here or abroad?

Happylittleday · 17/06/2026 20:29

I’m in uk would only have it done here. Wouldn’t risk it abroad. I’ve found the clinic and dr will be booking the consultation soon have chatted through with them what I want to achieve so feeling excited. Yes it’s dearer here but safer

I’d love to. I’ve lost 7 stone and my stomach looks like a melted candle 😭

But I can’t imagine I’d be able to afford it, how much do they cost? I mean I probably could be not sure I could justify it, and tbh who sees my stomach anyway apart from DH, and he doesn’t care. I think I look ok in a one piece swimsuit, except I’ll always have that bit of tum regardless of how much weight I lose.

Happylittleday · 17/06/2026 20:39

I’m going for a cheeky uplift too so between 12-15 depending if I decide on implants or a bit of contouring lipo too ibut it’s mainly the overhang I want gone. I wear a bikini now and really don’t care if people don’t like my wobbly bits it’s for me. I’m 46 so no more kids it’s my time now

Fair play to you. Definitely too expensive for me.

I’ll stick to sucky-in knickers under dresses, but I might test drive a bikini, I haven’t actually worn one since the 90’s 🤣

Username19893847477374 · 17/06/2026 20:46

No, I couldn't afford it and to be honest, I'm too scared of the dangers. I wouldn't be able to take the time for recovery either. I've decided to practice body neutrality and not get hung up on aesthetics. Really because I have no choice!

Owenspannas · 17/06/2026 20:49

I’ve lost nearly ten stone. I want to ensure I can keep this weight off for a year or so before I consider surgery.

completelylostagain · 17/06/2026 20:58

No, it just doesn’t interest me at all. I’m nearly 50 and don’t really care about my loose skin. I have plenty of it and flappy wings now I have lost nearly 10 stone but it’s not something I would consider surgery for.

Thebigonesgetaway · 17/06/2026 21:06

no, as I don’t need it, my stomach is completely flat, apart from about half an inch over hang for my c section, howver it’s taken a shit ton of work, exercise, moisturising, consuming my protein, etc, I do a lot of strength training , core exercises, but I’d say running made the biggest difference, I’m still surprised when I get undressed and see the ring of muscle.

ive lost over 6 stone, now down to a bmi 20 for the last year to 18 months, I’d say the last stone really did it and gave me a flat stomach and the exercise, which was throughout my weight loss phase, and then continued, has made a huge difference,

clearly much of a difference depends on how long you were fat for, but I think huge improvement can be made with consistent exercise, I’m in my fifties,

my boobs are very small though, but stand up on their own, a c cup. But I quite like this as it looks better in clothes.and I can wear little bralets etc,

I think if you do the work, you can really make a huge difference,

FeelingSadToday1 · 17/06/2026 21:28

Good for you @Thebigonesgetawaybut OP wasn’t asking for your angelic routine 🫣

@HappylittledayI would love one but couldn’t justify the cost. For me to get a flat stomach I’d have to be painfully thin and even then, that wouldn’t change my loose, overstretched skin.

Keep us posted if you go for a consultation.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 17/06/2026 21:40

Me! I’d love to know how you get on.
i would seriously consider it but got bamboozled when looking for a Dr/clinic.

I had a significant mum pouch after pregnancy & losing 5 stone has made it much worse. No amount of protein or core training will fix it. It’s just loose skin..

good luck OP!

No need to be catty, the point remains for anyone who can’t afford it and doesn’t like their stomach, putting the work in will vastly improve it. Being horrible to me won’t change that,

5050canwormkwell · 17/06/2026 21:46

Just giving it some time can definitely help. I have lost 7 stone and maintained for a few months. I feel a lot better about my loose skin and my body generally than I did when I first lost the weight. I think it is just getting used to a body that looks different that helps. And maybe also running. 😀

The thing is exercise doesn’t help every one. I broke my spine and hip 2 years ago so unable to do as you put it constantly exercise.
i really don’t care if people don’t like me in a bikini I will wear it and be proud yes I have stretch marks I carried 3 children yes I wobble put it’s a them problem not a me problem I am doing it to 1 lose the pouch and 2 because it’s my body.

Do it you will look great in a bikini and if people don’t like it it’s their problem. Be proud you are amazing

When i was a bit fatter i thought i looked better naked

2/2.5 stone lighter i look better clothed 😀

i would also like a boob job as they don’t have the fat keeping them up anymore

my sil had a tummy tuck but she was told to lose the weight and maintain for a year….so thats what i am thinking of doing

would love to hear how you get on

Happylittleday · 17/06/2026 22:06

I don’t think it depends “how long you have been fat for” there are lots of factors every one is different. I have a large bust (f) so hasn’t sat where they should for a loonnnggg time

I definitely feel time helps. I had loose skin on my buttocks then 6 months later noticed it had firmed up. Similarly my inner thighs were looking crepey and I'm sure they're improving over time. I hadn't noticed I've loose skin in my stomach...upper abdo area until I was in bright light. I'm hoping that will improve. I've lost 31/2 stone and shocked to have skin issues at what I think is quite a low loss overall. However I'm older now at 49 so skin elasticity is different. I'm going away Friday and shall rock my bikinis as I'm proud of my efforts.

IndieRocknRoll · 17/06/2026 22:29

I think I’d want to maintain for a year or so before considering this. It might shrink back on its own but equally there’d be nothing worse than getting it done and the weight going back on!

This has given me hope, thanks for sharing! I’ve got a last stone to go and doing all of the things you mentioned!

WhiskyFromSmallGlass · 18/06/2026 08:06

I had a tummy tuck in 2017. I'd had a twin pregnancy and a c-section so the overhang was dreadful and my muscles had a 4cm gap putting me at risk of a hernia as my stomach coned when leaving forward. I was about 12st at the rime of surgery and had 5.2lb of skin removed. So it was a big tuck.

Ive lost 4st since then. And I have no overhang but the skin is loose particularly around my belly button. I saw my surgeon last week to discuss what we could do. We can do another tuck at the start of next year. He wants to wait to see if the skin retracts slightly on its own (it can take a while to catch up) as i may just need a mini tuck. We will do a breast reduction and uplift at the same time (currently a 30H).

He did say that he was surprised how well my tuck had held up after 9 years and a 4st weight loss and that even without the loss skin says as you get older anyway so he is surprised its not worse.

Imaginedragons84 · 18/06/2026 08:41

I've been following 'itsanewmeemj' on Instagram - she's about 6 weeks post tuck now (she had quite a big procedure) She's been very open and honest about what she's been through.

SatsumaDog · 18/06/2026 09:07

I have considered it post 4.5 stone weight loss. The cost is considerable but after following a number of people who shared
their own post op/recovery I decided against it. For a cosmetic procedure, it wasn’t worth the pain post op and recovery time. I rely on exercise for my mental health and it would keep me away from the gym too long.

geraniums111 · 18/06/2026 09:12

I considered it aster losing 11 stone but decided against it even though it's pretty horrendous. I don't want the expense or risk - I know two people who've had it done decent and both have had serious complications and problems. One has been infected, one had to wear a mechanical drain thing for over a year. It just wouldn't heal.
I live with it. It's completely hidden when dressed. My arms and breasts are also not good but I live with them too!
