My Mounjaro has arrived!! I’m really, really nervous. I’ve joined a Facebook page which seems to be full of a lot of negativity. I just need a hand hold and some positive feedback to help me build the courage up!

planning on injecting this eve!

Your pharmacy will inform your GP
Side effects are rare

@Moonlightdust informing your GP depends on the pharmacy. Some will automatically generate a letter with details of the prescription and send it to your GP, who will usually then just upload it to your records. Other pharmacies may generate the letter on your account page for you to download and send to your GP if you want to. I'm not really fussed if my GP knows or not as they have nothing to do with this private prescription and I don't ever go and see them for anything as I am usually fit and well, thankfully. If I did go and see them in person for something, I would mention it then if it was relevant.

Mounjaro (and Wegovy) are one injection per week. I usually inject on a Friday morning for example. There are four doses in the injection pen, so the pen lasts for a month.

When to increase your dose depends on how well you are losing weight and whether or not you're having side effects that you are finding difficult to manage. If you are losing weight consistently, 1 to 2 lbs per week on average, then you could stay on the same dose. If you aren't losing much weight, or none at all, for the 4 weeks you are on a dose, and you aren't getting difficult side effects, then you could move up a dose. You can always move back down a dose if you experience too much appetite suppression or more difficult side effects.

Thank you that’s really helpful. Not sure I can afford it at the moment but I am really considering it.

A lot of people saying water and protein, but you absolutely must make sure you have enough fibre. This will stop constipation as well as feeding your gut microbiome.
