@Sidebeforeself I have had similar symptoms on and off and have had to take Loperimide as I couldn't leave the bathroom let alone the house. The symptoms can last a couple of days and it's important to drink lots of water. I found that ginger tea helped me and I was very careful what I ate. But everyone is different and he will have to see what works for him. What dose is he on?

EducatingEater · 08/04/2026 11:02

Hi all, hope all well and finding the start running smoothly (will properly catch up in a mo). Took first dose at 2.5mg this morning and so far all good.

Tesco due in a couple of hours and touch wood all good going forward. I'm positive at least!

I have at least 10 if not 14 stone to lose so it will be a long one but I'm fed up of just existing and coasting exhausted.

Wishing exciting change of life magic for all! ❤️

2.5mg and it’s his first week

2.5mg and it’s his first week

It could just be teething problems, or something he's eaten.
Is he buying privately or being prescribed? I'm prescribed and was told that any foods high in fat or carbs and starches and fibres can cause diarrhoea. Also lack of fluids. He may need to change his eating habits.
Good luck.

Hello! May I join in too? Pen arrived today so going to jab tonight, after dinner I guess. What should I expect?!?

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 08/04/2026 19:07

I’ve taken my third jab today and total loss over 3 weeks has been 5lb. I’m still quite disappointed given that My Fitness Pal keeps telling me that I’m not eating enough calories. Water intake is 2l a day, which was standard for me anyway before the jab.

Z0rr0 · 08/04/2026 21:24

I just got notified that my first jab has been dispatched. Excited and a little apprehensive. Really hope it works and side effects are manageable.

custardlover · 08/04/2026 21:52

I was due to take my first dose tonight but I find that I am very apprehensive indeed! I have a hair appointment booked in the morning, the theatre in the evening and have to travel for work on Sunday night (just until Monday but still). Am I likely to have debilitating side effects? I can cope with nausea and bloating I think but unexpected and persistent diarrhoea will really be tricky!

NorthDevonBeachLover · 09/04/2026 06:48

Wow, first weigh in done and I've lost 5.5lb! I'm over the moon but also realistic and know that won't be the same going forward.

Excellent! Very nearly the same for me - 5lbs off so happy with that considering I haven't been counting any calories!

Well done it’s nice to see the scales going in the right direction for a change isn’t it I lost 4lb my first week just done my 2nd jab yesterday so I would be happy with 4lb each week

That's the thing, no one knows so yes you really have to prepare for the worst. However if you always have a busy life there is never going to be a 'good' time to start!

I would wait until you have a few clear days just in case you do get any side effects. X

Seeing the number slightly lower is a great feeling. I should be in a different stone bracket by next week if all goes to plan!

Thesehills · 09/04/2026 08:37

Can I join please. Approved and waiting for delivery. Terrified but excited to finally have plucked up the courage. 2.5 to 3 stone to lose.

zacsGranny · 09/04/2026 08:50

Just for information, I tried some chocolate, and the result was diarrhoea and excruciating wind. Very painful. Not sure if it's something to do with the palm oil in chocolate these days, but really not nice.
Had my second jab this morning and my blood sugar is down. Haven't weighed yet. Will do it after my shower, will I'll have after I feel a bit better.

Well done on the weight loss @NorthDevonBeachLover ND @didldidi

custardlover · 09/04/2026 09:28

It’s great to hear the good results! And
grateful for the shared experiences of others regarding food impacts - it’s be great to get a sense of what the ‘safer’ foods are eg banana, cooked veg etc. I hear from friends that it’s fats to be very wary of!

EducatingEater · 09/04/2026 10:40

Day one was interesting. I ended it on 1500 calories and 106g of protein eaten but I still have the "noise" as it were or is it the habit? I still want to eat more, but I know I don't want it. It was a struggle, but I didn't eat any extra. I noted I was hungry for my dinner around 4, started making it about quarter past 5, come 6 I ate it all and wasn't hungry afterwards but did feel like I should have a little something.... Think that's the habit though. I was extra thirsty however and did up my water intake with vimto blood orange squash.

I have a lot to lose and I'm a carer for my mum so I am used to being in a lot of pain by the end of the day and using easier (takeaway or junk) options but I want to stop that because there's no way of getting less pain without losing the weight.

Day 2 morning I've just woken up about 45 mins ago. It's a late start because I was up in the night with mum a few times and both of us were tired. I note I'm very thirsty but there's no hunger, though my brain tells me I should have a little something. I think that's sensible though having bit eaten since 6pm so will have a belvita biscuit pack with a tea and a squash after and see how we go towards lunch.

didldidi · 09/04/2026 12:41

You might feel better if you have a little something to eat @EducatingEater I have been nibbling on ginger biscuits which have helped.

EducatingEater · 09/04/2026 13:43

Thank you my lovely, I ate the Belvita biscuit pack (I take a lot of medication and some are painkillers so it's best to have something to line the stomach with) and a cup of tea and I wasn't hungry come lunch time but made myself eat a Tesco strawberry 20 percent protein yoghurt with 40g strawberries, 40g blueberries and 40g raspberries alongside it (and another cup of tea). Still very thirsty so downing the weak squash regularly too. I'm happy about being thirsty, though and keeping up the water, as it's something I needed to do even before this .

Dinner will be salad with pork, mozarella and tomato i think it is skewers from the tesco bbq range that's coming back in store.

Hope everyone is doing alright :)

SquishyGloopyBum · 09/04/2026 14:09

I hope it’s ok I jump on. Today is my mounjaro anniversary! 3 stone down and never been happier. I’m still on a v low dose.

good luck to you all. Drink lots of water and avoid fatty food are my top tips!

apricotdreams · 09/04/2026 16:25

I took my first jab last night after putting it off for a few days. I have fibromyalgia and I have an awful flare today, could just be coincidence. I definitely don’t feel hungry though
