Mounjaro and holidays

I am off on holiday next week. Not all inclusive, just self catering, but we will definitely be eating out.

I went up to 5mg two weeks ago.

Do I either go down to 2.5mg for the holiday or skip a week?

I would love to know what others have done. Thanks.

When taking your pen on holiday, how do you dispose of the needle afterwards? Do you leave it attached to the pen until you get home?

That was my initial thought but then I wondered if I’d get stopped at the airport? I’m only taking a 10kg cabin bag so I’ll probably keep it in my handbag. 🤔

Put it in a used drinks can and bin?

@Chopsy123 definitely don’t leave it attached to the pen, as that leaves the pen “open”. I’d take a small clip lid Tupperware labelled “sharps” and put it in there to bring home. It doesn’t matter if you get stopped at the airport as long as it the people checking your bag can tell what it is and don’t get hurt if the inspect it.

I skipped a week because I couldn't be bothered with the faff. Didn't even notice a lesser effect tbh and didn't put any weight on either. Have been on 15mg a while though, might be different if you've not been taking it long.

Hello @Elizabeth49 what did you do in the end? I’ve just booked a holiday and am wondering what to do. I don’t really want to take it with me, but also don’t want a couple of days feeling off whilst on holiday which is what has happened so far. Only a away for a week and not looking for an excuse to over eat, just don’t want to feel sick and have to miss some time by lying in a cold dark room 🙈
