Welcome fellow maintainers to our third thread! Tis the season to be joyful and we do have reasons to be joyful, as we are still here. Not always the perfect journey and full of treats and temptations, but we'd have nothing to talk about otherwise. So hop on the Magical Maintenance Sleigh of Wonder and lets go! (Apologies to all those reading this for the first time in March! I got a bit carried away my festive season puns.)

@26inprogress
I find that balance is the hardest part of Reformer, do you? I have a long pole to grip onto (and I do, for dear life!) so we've got a good work around. The young women in my class seem absolutely fearless but are very nice to me 😅

Yes! Although I think my balance has improved since losing weight! We’ve not done too many stand up exercises yet though so let’s see what happens then 😂

FurForksSake · 16/01/2026 12:58

Weight verification call with oushk done. Hopefully they’ll now process my order, she said she checked and I had nothing outstanding. Hopefully won’t have to do another for a good long while, they annoy me! I had to do id again and she was struggling to read it, scales was ok and then I had to stand by a door again, still short.

KrankyKumquat · 16/01/2026 14:28

@FurForksSake
I had my 2nd one this morning too. No sound but she phoned me. Was surprised to be asked for height..again..but that's it for 6 months, thankfully.

Yes they always ask and I’d always say this week.

My 5mg pens are lasting 11 weeks. I ordered 2 last time so will have a bigger gap.

Does Swift ask for evidence of your prescription or a photo of your pen box? I last bought from Pharmulous but that was well before Christmas. I am ordering 10 mg and clicking to get 7.5. My plan is to go down to 5 but keep ordering 10 mg as its more cost effective. If there is more than 6 weeks gap I think Pharmulous makes you go down to 2 5. I don't really want to go down to 2.5 even though I have maintained more or less since July. Hard to work out how to stretch out my pens and still keep ordering. What are Swift like as a provider please?

Merlin23 · 16/01/2026 17:57

What is the expiry date on pens ordered recently?

MummyInTheNecropolis · 16/01/2026 18:01

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2026 08:07

I can’t as I work nights

usually eat 7ish and happy to have a snack bar /protein drink 10/11pm if need be but have never been waking /starving early hours

I wanted to give 2.5 a month or two and quit after 2w 🙀😢😢

Lets see how the next two weeks of jan are on 5

Ah I’m sorry, I didn’t realise you work nights. That must make it a lot harder as your body is on a different schedule to most. Try to be gentle with yourself, you have to do what works for you and if 5mg is it then just go with it for a bit longer. I honestly don’t think 2.5 would work for me now, I’m hoping I will get there eventually but will just have to wait and see. I’m happy to stick with 7.5/5 for a few months if that’s what I need. I do get your frustration though, especially if you were hoping to come off completely. I’ve accepted that I will most likely need weight loss medication in some form or another forever. Just hope they eventually come up with a (cheap!) pill at some point. 🤞

FurForksSake · 16/01/2026 18:08

Oushk have dispatched my order. Last ordered from them in October for an early November delivery. I did say I was working through a backlog and I had a quick weight verification and id check. But all fine. I’m on maintenance and paid £265, I think I could have got an extra £15 off but missed it. I did use my £15 off points and got 1p delivery so just over £250 delivered for 12.5mg and I ordered a sharps bin and that’s coming free.

OneThirdLess · 16/01/2026 18:36

Pharmulous are really strict on reordering without a gap. Swift sound more chilled. I need to do some maths and work out when to stop ordering and use up my stash. It's why I was hoping to get down to 2.5, but doesn't look like that's going to be happening any time soon.

@Blondeshavemorefun I hope moving back up to 5 makes you feel so much better. I guess it may take a few weeks to get back to where you were, so try not to be disheartened if it's not immediate. I did great with food this morning, because I was out of the house and couldn't snack - came home and three chocolates fell out of the tin and into my mouth within 5mins of getting home. 🙄

I don't know how old you are - but I'm enjoying the delights of perimenopause waking me up in the early hours and then laying awake - and of course then I start to feel hungry. Any chance your early morning wakings could be hormonal?

@Pyjamatimenow breakfast is often a homemade smoothie (some combination of Huel/chocolate protein powder/silken tofu/Greek yoghurt plus a handful of nuts & seeds, big scoop of frozen mixed berries or whatever fruit needs using up plus whatever supplements I've decided I need this week.) Or avo & poached egg on toast, or sometimes just leftovers. I never really got breakfast sussed after abandoning toast & cereal. Always have (decaf) tea though, I don't want water in the morning and I need the hydration.

FurForksSake · 16/01/2026 18:38

Breakfasts - when I eat it, often weetabix or porridge and some fruit on the side. I never fancy eggs first thing really, but do love a piece of Jason’s sourdough toasted, half an avocado mashed with chili, garlic and lime spread on top and then topped off with two poached eggs and a drizzle of crispy chilli oil.

LilyLondon · 16/01/2026 19:34

@Pyjamatimenow @OneThirdLess I found out (through trial and error) that I having a protein-rich breakfast is an absolute must for me - it really stabilises my hunger for the rest of the day, helps me feel full after meals (and not only after dessert), and generally makes me less prone to snacking. I basically need to force myself though, since I’m not hungry in the mornings. Also all my life if I ate anything, it was pure carbs 🙈

Swift are excellent as a provider, although I have ordered every 5 weeks. I bought a couple of extra pens in July and took a gap that they seemed chilled about. But they said need to order every 8 weeks or go back to 2.5. I’m taking 2.5 from a 5 pen so I don’t mind a gap at some point and then I’ll have one 2.5mg pen after the gap.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2026 08:34

@MummyInTheNecropolis you have done so amazingly so if you need to stay on it fair enough

I think deep down most of us will end up staying on it if can afford it

I would love a pill for 5. Assuming will be cheaper than pens tho equally will be much harder to microdose and prob won’t be able to buy a 10 tablet and half it

£250 for 12.5 is good considering I was paying just under that for 10 from Pharmoulous

@OneThirdLess thy took me happily back on 10 with 3mth gap tho I did have a pic showing my stash of pens that I had brought

i think I have 2 left. Start new 10 next week which will take 5 from so I may 2/3w into it try and order off someone - it’s nice to always have a pen in lieu. Esp if delays in posting /acquiring

Azuresky68 · 17/01/2026 09:17

@Pyjamatimenow always been a breakfast girlie but since MJ I am not always hungry in the morning so I make an egg dish ..call it a frittata/Spanish omelette/ordinary omelette but solid/crustless quiche...the main thing is that is portable and can be eaten cold!

It's just 3 eggs, tablespoon milk and whatever ingredients you fancy..I am currently putting cooked ham in mine. I cook on a low heat in air fryer - 160C until it's solid in the middle - about 15 minutes. Cook it in a silicone loaf tin with paper liner to make washing up easier. The three egg version lasts me all day. Yesterday i doubled it up as i had my sister round..she loved it and she doesnt like omelettes!
To keep my protein up and costs lower I buy an Aldi gammon joint, soak it for 4 or 5 hours then cook in slow cooker 4/5 hours or overnight with stock. Tried adding other flavourings but tasted the same. Shorter time means you have slicing ham, longer time means you can have pulled ham. Much cheaper than buying packet ham. As I live alone a third of the time I often divide things up into weighed portions and freeze. With ham this means I have quick access to a snack or I can add to soup or my air fry omelette. Easy one is Pea and ham soup made from frozen peas, veg stock, onion and added ham

My other breakfast/snack/dessert option is a no cheese 'cheesecake' lots of variations on this and best eaten cold after refrigeration. You can make half or even quarter of the recipe
Ingredients
400 g Greek yoghurt or any other yogurt you fancy
4 eggs
40g cornflour
Sweetner of your choice - some recipes suggest honey but I use a zero cal vanilla one.
Mix up until smooth then add fruit of your choice - I use defrosted frozen blueberries with liquid drained off but if in a rush I just put them in frozen.
Bake in same way as omelette - always test in the middle to see if fully cooked. Usually eat on it's own but nice with additional yoghurt/creme fraiche and extra fruit.
Hope I haven't derailed the thread with detailed recipes but they are so helpful when you don't fancy breakfast then out and about and hungry.
I am currently looking for a nice high protein soup. The one I made yesterday was awful..my sister and I couldn't eat it..too much coconut milk in it.
Happy weekend everyone 😀

You might like my recipes so you don't have to eat an early breakfast.

@Azuresky68 please share away! These sound great.

ShrankLastWinter · 17/01/2026 10:39

Really useful to see these recipes! It’s a new way of thinking about food for me, not starting by asking ‘rice pasta or bread?’ and then choosing something to go with the carb.

For breakfast I just have chocolate protein powder and almond milk mixed with my coffee, plus a probiotic drink. Sometimes fruit

SweetChilliGirl · 17/01/2026 12:08

I just had a delicious brunch: two fried eggs, a thick slice of ham, half an avocado and a chunk of feta, all smothered in Chipotle and tomato sauce - very easy to make. I have no idea how many calories or grams of protein it has but I assume lots of protein, at least. And no upfs as I fry in a small amount of butter.

Merlin23 · 17/01/2026 12:31

Watched the channel 4 programme about protein. It was really interesting.
The companies put protein on the packet and charge more for a product than may have 1mg more protein than a normal product that doesn't have protein written all over it.

Yes, I had this earlier in the week. Surprisingly for all the miraculous benefits of MJ it hasn't made me grow another 6 inches (although that would be the easiest way to lower my BMI!!!) Grin

20bloodypounds · 17/01/2026 17:00

@Merlin23 for me one of the biggest changes from my MJ journey is eating real proper food and as little processed food as possible. I've been trying to eat more protein and more fibre which can be hard when you're short and don't have manay calories to play with, but my bottom line is that if I want some protein from peas, then I'll eat peas, not a yogurt with pea protein added.

I've surprised myself by enjoying chia pudding made with greek yogurt and kefir with frozen berries mixed in. I make a big pot and eat it throughout the week, for breakfast or lunch or a pudding. All with my special blend of toasted nuts and seeds which is whatever is in the cupboard looking like it should be eaten up

I use left over veg from the night before to make a frittata with cheese and ham. I love avocado.

Sometimes I just have leftovers - cold chicken kiev was surprising lovely! And sometimes I have soup. A holiday years ago in Asia introduced me to soup for breakfast, and I'm a real convert, especially in winter - quick and warming. Tomato, bacon and lentil is my favourite.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2026 17:12

It’s weird how minds are set. Soup do breakie seems weird but why
aa
its filling and warm

I'm short too TDEE is only 1250 calories which is tiny. So to lose i have to eat very low.
I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get all the right foods in everyday on such like calories.
It's a constant nutrient battle. I check every label for UPF ingredients and my food is so much healthier. I am hoping it will show during maintenance or as it's also known the rest of my life! 🤣

These are the kind of lunches I have and love. Eggs, chicken, meats, cheeses, a couple of salad bits, olives (and some pickled things for a calorie free bonus). Normally under 300 cals but feels much more because it takes a while to graze.

daffodilandtulip · 17/01/2026 19:20

@Azuresky68 I like just eggs and cottage cheese done in muffin cases for breakfast - would add tomatoes/ham for a lunch. (But why have I not thought to do them in the air fryer before?!)
