Hi all, I’ve bitten to bullet and ordered my first Wegovy prescription, I was looking into both Mounjaro and Wegovy but I think with the price hike of Mounjaro it would be to expensive.

I’ve tried so many diets over the years and nothing has worked. I want to lose roughly 3 stone, nervous but also excited and looking for some buddies to do this with xx

Thank you, that's so helpful to think of it like that and also to know that other people dont lose some weeks either 🤎
Thank you

@NosferafternoonTea I also realised when I replied to you that I hadn't weighed myself yet. Well last week I lost absolutely nothing and I've just been on the scales and I've lost 2lb! So 19lb in total so far 🥳 very happy with my progress so far, we've got this 💪 x

dontcomeatme · 25/09/2025 13:22

@NosferafternoonTea
My weight loss in dates. Ignore the beginning 8lb in one day 🤣 I started using the app about 3 weeks after the jabs haha.

Thank you, that's really reassuring!
In my head i was happy to lose 2lb a week, or even a pound. I think its that psychological thing of seeing no loss thats got to me. Fingers crossed it all comes off next week instead 😆

carlie550 · 26/09/2025 23:05

First week done, and I didn't lose a thing. Didn't put anything on but still, feeling totally deflated. I was really nauseous so was convinced that the fact I was eating so little would've helped. I had really bad headaches and nausea last week so really hoping side effects this week won't be so debilitating.

Lifeisforliving2025 · 27/09/2025 09:20

Due to take my 3rd wegovy 0.25 injection tomorrow. I've noticed that my appetite has increased a lot and feeling real hunger when I wake in the morning - I didnt have this even prior to starting injections.

Will be ordering my pen this week and will increase my dose to 0.5 then see if I will keep going with Wegovy or return back to MJ.

No new low weight this week as I seem to have just been stable - will weigh tomorrow but looking like a stay the same for me this week. Been my birthday week so meals out, wine and chocolates.

I only need to lose a pound to get down into my next stone bracket and first stone off - been teetering around it for the last 2 weeks 🙂

chillinwithmygnomies · 02/10/2025 22:04

Hi all,
so it was my 3rd jab this week, in total so far I’ve lost 7lbs. I am thinking of changing to mounjaro though as I find the wegovy wears off quickly and the suppression isn’t there. I do feel fuller for longer but I wouldn’t say my portion sizes have reduced. I’m making healthier choices with my food but meal sizes are no smaller. I’m not snacking though so that’s been helpful.

I’ll see how next week goes and try to come to a decision as I know I’ll need to order either way.

How is everyone else getting on?

@chillinwithmygnomies I had this debate with myself. But I figured if I was still losing on wegovy then something had to be working right 🤷🏻‍♀️ and it would be more sustainable keeping the weight off after stopping the jabs. Mounjaro does cause more of a suppression, but then the hunger coming back is 10x worse! I find wegovy suppresses enough for me to clean up my diet, make healthier choices and help me reach my goal at a steadier pace. That's my thought process anyway. Well done on 7lb 👏 that's more than the average for 3 weeks.
Oh and edit to add, I've lost 20lb since I started 🥰 x

Well done on your loss, that’s fab! Flowers

I’m having a think now about what to do, I thought I was set when I chose the wegovy now I’m second guessing myself, typical 🤦🏼‍♀️

@chillinwithmygnomies tbf even if I wanted to swap I couldnt afford it so my choice was very limited 😅 I am really happy with wegovy so far though, can't complain! Hope you figure out what you want to do, nothing worse than nursing a decision 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

Hi, new to this thread but started at the beginning of September. I'm about half way through week 5, so have gone from 0.25 up to 0.5, it was what the pharmacy recommended and I had noticed the suppression had reduced, so waiting to see how I go on this level now.

Starting weight was 14.9, and now down to 13.12, 11lb loss, which I am really pleased about, I'm really hoping to get to that first stone weight loss Milestone.

It has slowed down over the last week or so, but I think the milestone is going to motivate me to be good this weekend and try and keep on track.

I still notice hunger, but not at anywhere near the same levels, so it's definitely helping to keep me on track.

Keep on going everyone 💪🏼.

QueenofLouisiana · 03/10/2025 22:33

I’m just finishing week 2, moved my jab day forward to accommodate holidays in the next few months. Lost 6lb so far.

I’m pleased as I had a pre-booked day out, which I still enjoyed but I ate a lot less than I would have done in the past.

Next week’s aim is to drink more. I’m suffering with constipation so need to tackle that.

Lifeisforliving2025 · 05/10/2025 12:19

Changed to WG on 15th September, now weighing 3lbs heavier. I have been on holiday the last week so that accounts for the heavier weight however I don't feel the same as I did on MJ. I could so easily not want treats and stuck to my goals easily every day. This week has been very disjointed and I haven't tracked a thing which isnt like me.

Have just taken last jab of .25 pen, new .5 pen to start next week.

Hoping the routine of work jolts me back into things better.

I’ve been on Wegovy for 4 weeks and have made the decision to switch to Mounjaro tomorrow. I’ve had no suppression for 2 weeks and I’ve been told Mounjaro is better so I’m giving it a try x

carlie550 · 07/10/2025 20:15

I was due to take my third Wegovy last Friday but have had bad upper abdominal pain so didn’t take it. Definitely experiencing more food noise now but glad the constipation has eased. I’m feeling much more normal too, surprised how yucky I must’ve felt on Wegovy. I’ve booked a private ultrasound tomorrow night to check for gallstones, if that’s clear I’m going to speak to my provider about switching to Mounjaro in the hope the side effects aren’t as bad.

chillinwithmygnomies · 07/10/2025 23:07

I’ve taken my 4th dose today and it’s to be my last, no suppression, no feeling full, no feeling anything to be honest. I’m switching to mounjaro next week.

The first 2 weeks were great, I’ve lost half a stone which I am over the moon with but after no loss last week, not feeling anything this week despite previous weeks feeling the effects quite quickly now there’s nothing.

I hope you all have fabulous losses and hope it works well for you Flowers

EducatingArti · 08/10/2025 05:08

I don't think that's too bad a loss for a first 4 weeks. The initial dose isn't meant to be an effective one, it's just that you have to go up through the doses slowly till you get to an effective one.

toastandegg · 08/10/2025 15:09

Week 3 here, the scales still read the same but I am definitely looking trimmer, feeling really sick this week though and not sure if it’s a bug or the Wegovy

EducatingArti · 08/10/2025 20:38

I'm on week 3 with Wegovy and have been feeling sick too. It feels better for a short while after I eat or drink something so I've been drinking lots of no added sugar squash

carlie550 · 08/10/2025 20:48

Just home from my ultrasound and they didn’t find anything that might be causing the pain so I’m going to finish my Wegovy pen (still have two doses left). My provider recommends I do another month on the lowest dose due to missing a week, does that sound right? I did have good suppression but quite debilitating side effects and only lost 2lbs over the fortnight I was on it. I’m so confused and don’t know whether side effects will be reduced if I switch to mounjaro? For those who have already moved up dosages of Wegovy, did side effects worsen or disappear as you were used to it? Such a bloody pickle!

PuzzlingRecluse · 09/10/2025 09:17

Hi has anyone completed a month & not lost any weight? I’m just about to go on 0.5 & I’m so frustrated & upset, zero weight change. I went with wegovy due to lower risk of side effects & I didn’t want rapid loss. But I haven’t lost even 1lb 😭

EducatingArti · 09/10/2025 10:10

I'm just in week 3 and lost hardly anything. I wouldn't worry too much as 0.25 isn't a therapeutic dose. It's an introductory one to minimise side effects.
What I would do is start to think about what you are eating and how many calories it is. Then as the appetite suppression kicks in you'll already know where to reduce your calorie intake, where you could prioritise more protein over carbs etc .

Hey 👋 I have just bounced up and down the same couple of pounds on my first .25 wegovy pen. I had just started MJ 2.5 when the price increase was announced, I lost 13lbs on this first pen.

Literally just taken my first 0.5 injection, I have had headaches and constipation since starting WG which I found disappointing as I had no side effects with MJ.

I am going to see how the next few weeks go, I might need to change back to MJ despite the price increase.

I had gained weight my first week on WG (5lbs on some days) but have finished off around a pound lighter than start of the pen (I had lost 3lbs on Monday but the scales shot back up again over the week)

Hope we start to see results on the scales soon (I do feel my clothes are comfier)

Hello 👋

First time posting here.

I started Wegovy on 8 Sept so I have been on it around six weeks.

Although my BMI was only just over the threshold of 27, I’ve had hormone positive breast cancer three times and my GP felt that lowering my BMI to around 22 may help reduce my recurrence risks. I purchased the meds privately though.

I’ve managed to increase the dose to 1mg earlier than normal due to few side effects -primarily belching. I’ve lost 3kg (starting weight 85kg) so far as I’ve only recently starting to feel appetite suppression. My ideal goal weight is around 68kg as I’m tall.

I’ve also been increasing my exercise to an average calorie burn of 700-800 active calories a day. I’ve not been precisely logging food but have been mainly avoiding carbs and avoiding sugar. I’m a reasonably active person and I’ve been eating pretty healthily over the past few years but I guess my portion quantities have been my downfall and I’ve been gaining weight gradually.

I’d be very grateful to hear your thoughts on my routine and progress as maybe I’ve been a tad disappointed on my progress so far.

Also, if anyone can comment on whether I should try and remain on 1mg for as long as possible if appetite suppression is still evident.

Thanking you all. 😊
