Can't believe we filled up a whole thread! Welcome to thread 2.

On a positive note to start us off, I've lost 1lb of the two that I gained from my autumnal apple crumble caper. Filling full of resolve and pleased to know I can gain a pound or two (which is of course completely normal) and then lose them again.

@Elliebearblues have faith. I started over 2 years ago on Wegovy originally. My BMI was 44. It's now 23 and I've lost nearly half my body weight. I'm a size 8-10. I go to the gym 6 days a week. I'm in my 50s and in the best shape of my life.

It's a journey alright and it's still hard work and effort, even with WLI but for me, it's been nothing short of a miracle.

Wow your such a inspiration, thanks so much for taking the time to reply x

kkr168 · 23/10/2025 22:09

Hi, I'd love to join you all.
I started my wegovy then mj journey days after Christmas 2023 weighing in at 205lb 🫣 I'm only 5ft 2, was wearing size 16 but probably should have been in 18s.
I reached a healthy bmi in April 2025, I'm a very slow loser!! By August 2025 I'd reached my lowest weight of 125lb but after a 3 week holiday, followed by a girls weekend away straight after I'm now up to 131lb.
I'd like to get back to 125lb ideally, which put me in a size 6-8, currently in 8-10.
I've been lowering my dose & am now on 5mg, due to drop to 2.5mg next week & still having good suppression. I'm hoping to stop mj completely by the end of this year.

I realised that I needed to start exercising in order to maintain my new weight so started couch to 5k in October 2024. I run regularly 3-4 times a week, I've now done a 10k race & even a half marathon 😁
I then joined a gym in July 2025 & weight lift 3 times a week, which I love, with the aim to tone up. I really hope I can keep it off this time after years of yoyo dieting 🤞

@MJOverInvestor I'd be interested to hear about how you found your hypnotherapist too.

It was via a friend but I’ve lost touch with him (it was about 15 years ago). I would say that paying for one-on-one was key - he did lots of listening and asking questions (and it took about three sessions) but like Mounjaro - was exactly like a switch turning off in my brain.

Got another 10mg pen from Pharmulous today. It arrived 26 hours after being ordered. I now have 4 x 10mg pens in the fridge. I have been doing 7.5mg for the last month or so and am going to try 5mg this week. If I can maintain on 5mg that means I have 40 doses in hand! I need to buy a smaller pen but the 7.5mg pen is £215 and the 10mg pen is only £240 so much better value.

Maybe next month. If taking 5mg is going well I will get the 7.5mg and then get a 5mg the following month and then tell Pharmulous I am going to take a break but actually use my stash.

If you’re not bothered about going over 30 days when taking smaller doses from bigger pens, then the best value for a given dose is the biggest pen you can get.
For example, for a 5mg dose, there are 8 doses in a 10mg pen, but there are 12 doses in a 15mg pen. A 15mg pen doesn’t cost 50% more than a 10mg pen.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 04:43

Sounds similar to me @Choux

im on 7.5. Have a 10 and one 7.5 lefy from stash

gonna try 5 from 7.5 and if mangleable to then buy 10 but use as 5 and yes be over the 30 days but cost wise the only way I will mange this

ans do that for 2mths maybe and see how weight goes

im reducing slowly as dont want to gain it all back and hope to manage my hunger dropping slowly

then maybe drop to 2.5 and then do 2,5 from a 5

and then maybe brave nothing

but if I do then will have to start at 2,5 again

It you take a break can buy a 2.5mg pen. And the next pen can be a 5mg, from which you can take 2.5mg. I think in the long run I’ll be buying 1x 2.5 and 3x 5mg a year. I’ll have some gap.

This is a good point. I'm not sure yet what my plan is. Initially my plan was to stay on them long term as I felt so good, that plan only changed when the price went up but I've been taking 2.5 from a 5 pen for some time. I don't keep it in the fridge and I often use the golden dose (sometimes hubby uses it). I'm comfortable with this use. I've still got one pen on the go and another in the fridge and a plan to use Pharmulous so I can order ad-hoc, although I may need to have more of a plan like you suggest here. I have been on 2.5 for maintenance for 5 months (with a small break where I didn't take it on holiday and took 3.75 to bring me back up) but lately feel the need to binge sugar in the evenings. I don't think I need to up my dose yet, although I think that once a month coming up a bit brings the average slightly higher so I may need slight increases post holidays and Christmas for example.
My only question mark is I'm waiting for ADHD medication Titration and this may help with my binge eating which could mean I don't need the mj. I've got to figure out how long I can leave before ordering (for the first time) with pharmulous. I want to order but may decide I don't need mj, or don't need it for a while. I think it will always be in my life, probably for when things are a little more difficult.

Sadteacher · 24/10/2025 08:25

@kkr168 I am starting to see lovely muscle definition after 3 months of the gym.
It is ironic that when I was overweight and in need of exercise more I didn’t do any. Everything is so much easier, I catch a glimpse of myself in the gym mirror and don’t recoil, I don’t feel daft in Lycra. I even get those endorphins fitness fans talk about 😂

MargoLivebetter · 24/10/2025 08:36

Welcome @kkr168 great to see another maintainer. Congratulations on all that you lost and not putting it all back on again too! Very impressed by your half marathon - that's fantastic. Keep us posted with how you get on.

Great post @Sadteacher very inspiring for a Friday morning.

Sounds like a good plan @Blondeshavemorefun . How have you found the dropping down is going so far? Have you noticed much change?

@MJOverInvestor thank you for explaining how your hypnotherapy worked. It is definitely something I am going to look into. I'm a huge fan of MJ but I also think I'd rather not have to take a medication unless I absolutely have to.

@tinyemmy sorry to ask, but I can't remember - have you reached goal weight now?

My good news for a Friday is I've lost 2 of the 3lb I had gained.

@Sadteacher I'm the same, I always exercised but favoured cardio to burn calories and lose weight (spoiler alert, it didn't work). I now concentrate on full body strength circuits and the definition in such a short period of time is incredible. I don't hate what I see, I still have areas that need work but it's not awful!

@MargoLivebetter yes I got to my goal at the end of May and have been maintaining since, BMI around 22 and 156cm so I'm one of the small ones hence such a struggle to diet without mj. I don't post very often but read all the posts, hence I forget people don't know who I am 🤣

Well done on the weight loss and I will follow the hypnotherapy with interest. If you find something that works I'd love to try it. I'm sure I've read people have said slimpod works, I presume that's hypnotherapy based, but I think it only works whilst you're listening to it every night...

All I know is I never want to gain weight again, I feel so great this size and I will do anything to stay here (whether that is mj, hypnotherapy or ADHD meds or a combination). For me calorie counting didn't work, I absolutely have a binge eating disorder that mj has taken away. I know it's still there as on this lower amount I still have the small binges but enough for me to maintain my weight thankfully. Although if it gets worse I will need to up my dose.

MargoLivebetter · 24/10/2025 09:10

@tinyemmy I'm such a bad thread starter as I have huge difficulty remembering everyone - it is very much my bad, not yours!

I feel exactly the same as you. I love being the weight I am now and my body loves it too. It has helped so much with my various arthritis conditions. I'm so determined not to put it back on again.

I think I will see how I go with the half dose of MJ for a couple of months. I find Christmas and the run up to it ridiculously stressful and don't trust myself not to comfort or desperation eat to get through it. I also find winter generally harder to eat well, as I just want to carb load when it gets dark and cold! So my thinking is to stay on the half dose of MJ until early next year and then come off again and hopefully by that time I will have found a hypnotherapist I could work with.

Good luck with your battle not to binge. I'm glad that the MJ helps with that. It is amazing stuff.

That’s true. ESP with Pharmolous they said can start again as long as have ordered in the last year and bmi isn’t too low (19) I think cut off point was. Mine is 22 at the moment and def don’t want to lose anymore weight

many say they are size 6/8

i never wanted that. I’m 20 to 10-12 clothes varying and happy there

I was on 15 for think 4 months and been slowly reducing as want to eventually go cold turkey

tho equally its great on joint pain and that a major benefit to staying on it

My BMI is now 21.5 with around 15% bodyfat. I look totally ripped and can see 6 pack abs. I won’t be wanting to lose any more

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 10:15

@MargoLivebetter I’ve been at goal since June. I was 17.4 - bmi 38 - My goal was 11s and bmi 24

but since trying to maintain and reducing from 15 to current 7.5 I have also lost weight and got down to 10.7 without trying to lose and hoovered that for a few weeks then dropped again and to 10.4 which is 7s loss

i I don’t understand How I can eat an extra 600c + a day now on 1800 and was 1200 yet lose weight still

where would have weeks of sts on 1200 and getting pissed off

reducing from 15 to 7.5 I have def noticed I have more of an appetite and growls of tummy near meal times

but equally know that I don’t need food and will survive that 30/60mins till the food is ready

where before I would snack. Have crisps. Bar. Etc

pain is also a factor. Mj reduces pain and my arthritis is better /less aching in ankle knee and hips then before

I have noticed that the pain is slightly more and get twinges in my hips - which was the reason and kick up the arse why I started to lose weight - now I’m lowering doses I notice pain more but it’s liveable

MargoLivebetter · 24/10/2025 10:36

@Blondeshavemorefun interesting that you are still losing at 1800 calories. (I'm a bit envious!). Are you more active than you were before?

I think we are similar heights and I'm also a size 10-12 now too. Not sure I want to go too much smaller either. The MJ definitely calms inflammation. I had an attractive angry patch of Psoriasis that had reappeared, which has almost gone again since restarting.

@MeridaBrave - a six pack!!!!!!! I'm so impressed.

OP posts:
DelightedDelicious · 24/10/2025 11:27

Re inflammation my decades long gingivitis requiring 4 hygienist visits a year @£90 each has disappeared - I need to add that £360 (plus the potential loss of teeth and the distress and the likely exorbitant dental costs) to my other savings (wine, meals out, takeaways, coffees & cake, snacks etc) to justify the budget.

ShrankLastWinter · 24/10/2025 22:21

I use pens well over 30 days. In fact my dr prescribes them with that intention (not in UK). They say the medication remains effective for up to 6 months. BUT they don’t make any claims about safety, no one can do that. And they do say keep it in the fridge. I would not keep a pen outside fridge and use it for an extended period of time.

kkr168 · 24/10/2025 22:41

@Sadteacher I'm seeing muscle definition too, I've always hated my arms but now I actually quite like them.

My stomach isn't great, I still hold quite a bit of fat there but as it looks fine in clothes I'm not overly fussed.
I've completely lost my bum, it's as flat as a pancake so doing lots of glute based exercise. Hopefully my bum will reappear soon 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 23:50

Def not more active. I’m a lazy sod and always fill out sedentary in exercise /tdee

i dont get it myself tbh

Schoolsec · 25/10/2025 07:38

@ShrankLastWinter
Thanks for that info. I definitely keep mine in the fridge too. I'm currently jabbing 5mg once a fortnight, I've got one jab left in my current pen and was then going to see how I go. I've got a spare in fridge with use by date 2027 just in case. Makes me feel secure knowing it's there in case I need it, especially with Xmas looming.

These pens have changed my life. I've turned down holidays because I can't bear the thought of putting on a stone and not being able to get it off again. We turned down a Caribbean holiday with another couple because other friend was so much slimmer than me and I didn't want to be the fat one, sunbathing next to her. Even with gym sessions, 5 or more times a week, it would be such a struggle to get holiday weight off too (Hashimoto's disease doesn't help either, although it's under control now).

Not to mention the money I've spent on various shapewear suits that have squashed my organs, bland diet food, toning tables, health shots, etc, etc. doesn't bear thinking about!!

Just curious why you wouldn’t jab 2.5mg once a week? Same dose overall and would be more stable.

The half life is 5 days so by the 5th/6th day of 5mg you’d be at 2.5mg (roughly) - so basically managing on 2.5mg or less from days 6 to 13.

20bloodypounds · 26/10/2025 16:37

@Blondeshavemorefun if you were insulin resistant your metabolism would have been a bit f@*ed so it would be hard to lose weight even on a reduced calorie diet. With the amount of weight you have lost, that might be resolved so suddenly your metabolism is working exactly as it should do - storing excess glucose when you've eaten and releasing it gradually as your body requires it. Usually you would never know about insulin resitance, it generally shows up as a consequence e.g. high blood pressure, high cholesterol, t2diabetes.

As well as losing weight, looking great and wearing fantastic clothes, your liver and pancreas will thank you for taking MJ.
