Think I'll stay with them for a bit but Swift Dr and Pharmulous are both winking coyly at me right now.

CroissantChops · 26/08/2025 19:01

I’ve always said that Oushk don’t know if they want to be pharmacists or influencers and the blurring of the two doesn’t mix very well.

I’ve been with them all year for maintenance but I am planning to switch to my local pharmacy who are coming in cheaper. Not by much of course as no one is but it surprised me how easy it was to wander down there last week and buy what I wanted within minutes.

Doggymummar · 26/08/2025 19:05

I won't be paying those prices with Oushk but my bmi is 26 currently so not sure what to do. Luckily I was always a couple of pens in hand so won't need to worry till next year. 7.2 wegovy might be an alternative

1clavdivs · 26/08/2025 19:07

I was with Oushk for maintenance but bought a couple of pens from Pharmulous recently. I think I'll stick with Pharmulous at this point.

BabyCatFace · 26/08/2025 19:11

What's the advice for people wanting maintenance other than Oushk? I don't want to be pressured to order every month or to be dropped to 2.5 if I wait too long between orders. Oushk may be more expensive but if they allow me to order every 6-8 weeks it's going to be worth it.

WeAllHaveWings · 26/08/2025 19:21

@BabyCatFace what is your maintenance plan that they allow 8 weeks between orders? I am not on maintenance yet, but if I leave 6 weeks between order they ask why.....

Just curious for the future as I am now at BMI 27 and was always going to stop just below BMI 25 so only one more stone to go.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/08/2025 19:24

Itscoldouthere · 26/08/2025 18:40

Not great for us on maintenance as we’ve also lost free postage, I think I’ll be sticking at 5, but using 2.5 or less in the long run, or I may switch to Wegovy, I will see what other maintenance pharmacies charge as well, if you can switch with a BMI under 23?

That’s the issue many of us will have. We want maintenance but too healthy /slim at 23 to Superdrug and med express

I don't actually have any kind of plan I just found that Oushk are very laid back about gaps between ordering. Maybe that's just part of their generally fairly lax approach in general

Burnserns · 26/08/2025 19:37

I'd be willing to bet Oushk will lower their prices in a couple of weeks Pharmulous have just announced theirs and they are significantly cheaper than Ouskh (15 mg pen is £274.99) and Pharmulous are very maintenance friendly.

FlappyFish · 26/08/2025 19:48

The Oushk prices are daft. Saying this with discount and maintenance is deliberately misleading when discount codes were always about. No one ever paid list price. We are all too seasoned to know the codes are out there.

They set up entirely to do WLI and said on the live earlier that can’t afford to reduce it like other pharmacies as they don’t have other profitable lines.

I was not interested in chasing prices before, but at these costs I will be more mercenary. There is no point having any loyalty for ease of ordering if it’s going to be £50-£100 cheaper if you can swap.

Don’t trust anyone selling wegovy 7.2 as a straight alternative.

it’s triple the highest dose available at the moment. There will be multiple titration doses between 2.4 and 7.2, and Oushk’s wegovy price of £184 for 2.4 suggests it’ll be a hefty price tag for 7.2. It’s very disingenuous for them to be marketing it like this.

I read somewhere (just on social media so not entirely reliable) Novo Nordisk have said patients who tolerate 2.4mg have tolerated 7.2mg so there are no plans for intermediate doses between.

Agree, it doesn't feel right to be showing Wegovy against Mounjaro like this, they are completely different GLP-1s and the doses are not comparable other than results. I am surprised they are allowed to start people directly at 1.7mg, when there are lots of anecdotal posts about people struggling on MJ and not W and vice versa, but guess we will see how that goes fairly soon as many people will be the guinea pigs switching.

KrankyKumquat · 26/08/2025 20:07

@FlappyFish
My thoughts exactly. I'm not going to mess about with maintenance consults, and pay for the privilege, then keep having to chase maintenance codes all for a fiver when other v.good places are so much cheaper. I think they've overestimated the loyalty of customers, especially us on maintenance who know what's what. The added value they had for being 'the first' has run out after a year.

This is about how I feel too. About 10lbs to go before I hit goal and I have a few pens in stock - so no rush but I do need to turn attention to maintenance. Ideally I'd like to (slowly!) titrate down, taking a couple of months or so at each dose. With a view ot trying to come off altogether but with a safety net if it doesn't work.

I've come too far to want to go back to fat me.

Totally agree. They aren't the only maintenance provider now and paying for the consultation to go onto maintenance is not attractive now the savings are so small.

I think they have over estimated their customer loyalty. Many won't be able to afford to be loyal and lots of us aren't fan girls and will happily switch if they don't offer enough benefits to justify the price.

I can afford to continue but not to pay over the odds.

KrankyKumquat · 26/08/2025 20:36

@WorriedRelative
I'm sad about it as I'd just got into a nice routine with ordering 3x2.5 pens at a time to microdose 2mg from, which was so easy and convenient but I've got a few months of stock so I'm going to hang tight for now - I'm very tempted to go onto lowest dose of Wegovy, with Pharmulous or Swift Dr but don't need to figure that out for a while yet.

Do they domaintenance

most of us are having especially if we’ve been on it for a year we’ve got to our ideal weight kind of what do we do now?

Pharmulous are one of the best for maintenance, as are Swift doctor who are also cheaper than Oushk. Both have prescribing GPs as well as pharmacists.

2.4 to 7.2 feels huge to me! I personally won’t be switching but it all feels a bit cheeky - I don’t see how they can advertise it like the direct alternative

FurForksSake · 26/08/2025 20:56

Do you know what their bmi cut off is for maintenance prescribing? I think oushk is 19-20ish

nebular · 26/08/2025 21:02

So I am with Oushk in maintenance. Tried to order a few times over the last few days, including this morning and it said no stock. Just placed an order for 7.5mg, so I do not believe for a second that there was no stock this morning. I did try the maintenance discount code I have and it still worked.

19 to 20 is surely underweight? I'm not judging by the way, I'm just surprised. I'm still at 30.3 after almost a year and was expecting to get cut off once I reach about 24 (which I'd be bloody thrilled with as I haven't been that BMI since I was 17)

It's all very confusing and I admit that the maintenance thing doesn't seem to be very clear cut.

FlappyFish · 26/08/2025 21:21

To be underweight your BMI has to drop below 18.5. The healthy range is actually big. I have never admitted to anything less than 20 and was bang on that when I had to do verification.

FurForksSake · 26/08/2025 21:22

NHS states lowest end of healthy bmi is 18.5. The majority on the link will allow maintenance around 19/20 it turns out. It can be harder to move though. My BMI is currently 22 so I’m not there, but I’m very short and have really bad joint issues so benefit from being as light as possible really.

i weight 8st9 and don’t think I’ve been below 9st4 as an adult before! I’ve still got a tummy and flabby bits.
