A thread for NSVs

I thought with all the negativity and panic it would be nice to share some NSVs that we’ve all had. I’ll start with, I’ve lost so much weight from my face that now when I’m sleep deprived my under eyes don’t look hollow, but instead I get eye bags. Never had that happen before!

Yesterday at yoga I was able to do child's pose, with my knees together, without a panic attack. There is normally too much "chub" there to do it without hyperventilating

FlorenceNightshade · 19/08/2025 11:21

Hmmm I have a few but I think the one that made me almost emotional was ordering new work uniforms!

NHS Scotland have a standard unisex tunic and mine has always been Large. It was getting baggy and on a total whim tried on a small and it fitted!!! Nearly cried! 13 years in a large and ordered smalls - unbelievable and unthinkable before MJ!

Lovely idea for a thread @ThatCyanSheep

Having to keep moving my car seat forward & up as my arse is obviously shrinking more than I appreciate! 😃

FurForksSake · 19/08/2025 11:33

My orthopaedic consultant in a letter described me as having “a normal body type”

BerfyTigot · 19/08/2025 11:37

I've posted my nsv on another thread but here it is again. I'm down 11kg and 2 holes on my watch strap.

I can also get up from plastic garden chairs without them coming with me!

Yes! I couldn't work out what was going on at first & moving the seat forward is no problem because there's less belly in the way.

My tissues started falling out of my sleeve - took me a while tor realise it was because my arms are thinner!

ThatCyanSheep · 19/08/2025 11:57

I love these! Another one for me is I’ve gone down a shoe size. I’ve always had wide feet but my feet were apparently so fat I was in a size 8, now I’m a 7!

Recently went travelling - every single towel in all the 14 hotels I stayed in fit around my body. 🙌🏻

I'm still in the early stages - but was away last week and noticed a hole in my jeans. Thought I was going to have to fork out for a new pair (wear them most days to work).
Just in case, I dug out an old pair, same design, one size smaller. They fit! Not uncomfortable either! Saved me £40 already! 😂

another one I have is I bought a whole new wardrobe for my holiday, after being in size 3xl tops and size 28 shorts last year, I’m in size 16 dresses now!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa , and not having to take my own enormous robe because those in the room now fit me. 🎉

Great idea for a thread!

I've shared this one elsewhere but mine is that pre-MJ my blood pressure was dangerously high, and I was told I needed to go on medication to control it. I resisted as I was due to start and was hoping weight loss would help.

4 stone off (1 to go) and my BP is pretty much bang on normal and I wont need medication!

Altho another NSV would be considered as needing to buy much smaller clothes, but I bloody hate clothes shopping so its a double edged sword 🤣

JurassicPark4Eva · 19/08/2025 12:16

Put on my belt for the first time in many months and had to reduce the holes to the minimum from the maximum.

I can now get in the driver's seat after DH - he's shorter and slimmer than me and I literally couldn't squeeze in without chucking the seat back first. I still have to adjust for my leg length but don't struggle to get in under the wheel.

I no longer have a single item of clothing larger than a size 20 - I've officially replaced my entire wardrobe bar socks.

Great thread @ThatCyanSheepand much needed this week.

My blood pressure read in the normal range this morning for the first time in years.

And I’ve been wearing shorts with tops tucked into them recently. In public not just the garden, without feeling uncomfortable or self conscious.

My next goal is to wear a t-shirt tucked into jeans on Thursday!

I'm only 4 weeks in but I bought a dress I loved the pattern and material of but when it arrived it was far too tight across my stomach. I thought id keep it and it might fit next year (decided this before I started my WLI) Tried it on this morning just to see and it fits now!! I'm so, so pleased. And it was put straight in my suitcase for my holiday next week.

PearlsPearl · 19/08/2025 13:03

Thanks for this lovely thread! NSVs are like weight loss crack to me, I live for them, mine and others!

I came on to say my a few days ago I realised I could get off the floor no effort. Couldn’t believe it. Did it 3 times just to check!

tryingtobesogood · 19/08/2025 13:11

lovely NSV today. It’s my birthday today and I’ve put on a dress I bought a month or so ago. It pulled on the top and I would wear a vest underneath.

today I put it on and it fits lovely. The buttons do up the front and don’t pull. So happy as the scales are being very stubborn and not moving 😳

SpiralSister · 19/08/2025 13:46

These are brilliant, all of them!

My latest is that I can get my heel up to my bum when stretching after a workout. This has never before happened in all my 57 years. So thinner, and also fitter!

I misread this at first and thought you said you were able to put your head up your bum!!

Aw I like these! I’ve only been on it a few days so none yet for me but will enjoy reading these as people add to them! I love a positive thread!
