Hi - not sure I'll get many replies as most seem to be on Mounjaro. I started Wegovy last night. 0.25. Feel totally normal so far today. I am definitely not hungry but am not normally hungry in the am.

Sw - 13.5
1st gw - 12.4

Started Wegovy last night, found this thread and hoping for results! Had 2 coffee's this morning, as WFH I'm hoping to make better food choices, my portion sizes could do with reducing, 2 slices of toast instead of 4 etc. Don't feel any different, i am hungry but I'm not a breakfast person so might have a protein shake after my coffee.

Radioundermypillow · 24/07/2025 18:51

Hope today went well.

Im having a break between patients and im starving. Breakfast was a bowl of porridge plus flaxseed etc. Lunch a salad from the deli- lots of roasted veg and celeriac in mayo, it was small though. I won't get home to near on 10 so am contemplating stopping at waitrose on the way home and grabbing something.

@Radioundermypillow your work sounds pretty difficult to maintain a regular and controlled eating regime. I think it's just a case of developing new habits around your schedule. I think in the next few weeks your hunger will start to abate too. Stick with it. good luck to you :)

Hopefully as a positive incentive to you all I've just gone to 10.13 this morning. Not been in the 10s since I was in my 20s and i'm 50!

Best of luck to you Sam.

I struggled with bread once i started on Wegovy, had to shake up the breakfast routine to porridge, greek yogurt or fruit.

I couldn't understand it but when I looked at the sugar and carb content of bread I was pretty shocked.

Same with milk cheese and low fat produce. Next time you're in supermarket look at the ingredients in full fat and skimmed milk. it's horrifying. they strip the fat out and replace it with sugar.

As the old saying goes, sugar is the cocaine of the food industry. it's highly addictive and leads to wanting more. I know this now. which leads to obesity.

I'm pre disposed to Type 2D and love sugar. can't get enough. Skimmed milk I drink loads as want more sugar. full fat stuff I drink or eat a little - the fat fills me up. full fat milk. chees etc fills me up after a little and doesn't leave me with that craving for more.

Fat is not the enemy. Sugar is.

I don't mind being hungry once a day to be honest. I bought a small pack of malt loaf and it was delicious. When I got home I had a herb tea and some fruit. Ive lost 4lb so far (jabbed Saturday night). I wouldn't say I have the biggest suppression any more but its enough to help me make good choices.

So far I still don't think I've experienced anything, other than headaches. I've not noticed any real reduced appetite or cravings. My weight has stayed roughly the same, as i tend to fluctuate a few lbs over the course of the week usually anyway. I'm hoping it's just taking a bit of time to take effect.

There's about 0.3 more carbs (do you mean sugar from carbs as there is zero added sugar in skimmed milk) in skimmed milk compared to full fat.

So I jabbed on Saturday night.

Suppression more or less worn off and am having to rely on willpower. Luckily I still feel a bit full after I eat, so small portions and no snacking.

I am sleeping really well, and Wednesday and Thursday felt really really good. Full of energy and ADHD brain calmer.

Finally started, just had first dose. Onwards and upwards, really easy to do. Glad I've finally overcome the first hurdle

Weigh day today. I've lost 3lbs. On Thursday I sneakily weighed and I'd lost 5lbs, so obviously something going on there. 3lb isnt much considering how little I've been eating, but if I lost 3lb a week consistently, that would be ok. Probs lose more when I go up a dose.

Also proves how hard it was to lose the weight without drugs!

Second pen last night and not feeling any different this morning. Definitely had very little suppression yesterday.

It feels as though the drug just completely takes away cravings. So no alcohol or chocolate or that panicked feeling after meals when I want more.

Hello!

Did my first jab this morning, was very nervous but couldn't feel it go in at all! Although it did sting for a bit afterwards. I'm really hoping for good success even if slow - as long as relatively steady. I can never normally go for longer than two weeks before blowing it all

Fingers crossed

Second jab for me this morning. I'm hoping that I start to notice more, as so far my appetite/cravings have not been reduced at all.

Radioundermypillow · 28/07/2025 07:41

Good! I think I have suppression, but it doesn't feel how I expected. But I'm not hungry so must be it..
My confusion is around this 'food noise' thing, I'm still thinking about food, but now I'm more 'meh'. I was expecting to not think about it at all, but could be a mental habit to break
All in all - so far so good, hopefully no side effects around the corner

Radioundermypillow · 28/07/2025 11:52

W2 d2
I'm not feeling as much suppression but I think that's because I'm getting used to it.

I'm not going to eat until 1pm today. This is what I used to do pre Wegovy and did help in losing the odd pound or two. I do feel a bit hungry though. Good training for when I inevitably have to come off the drug I guess.

Radioundermypillow · 28/07/2025 15:15

So I ate lunch at 12.30 - some chili, salad, avocado. It was a smallish portion. I still feel absolutely stuffed and can't bear the idea of eating anything else! Hoping it wears off a bit by 6pm as dd is cooking sausages and lentils 😐.

Drinking lots of water and feeling a bit fluey 😒

OP posts:
YummyBelicious · 28/07/2025 16:09

Sounds like it's working a bit then! I keep coming over odd - either sweaty or cold so something going on there too!
What week are you going to order you new pen? And are you staying same dose or going up?

Radioundermypillow · 28/07/2025 18:14

I take my last dose from this pen just before I go on holiday. I think I'm going to try and stay on the same dose for when I get back although I could probably do with going up one.

I've set up to order my new pen later this week as we're going on holiday at the end of next week and I want to make sure it arrives before we go. I'm not sure how it works with going up or staying the same yet. Given how little effect it seems to have so far I think I'll go up if I can.

Radioundermypillow · 29/07/2025 13:45

I must say I've already gone back to ny old eating habits. Apple turnover from lidl then a slice of baguette with butter (after a very healthy homemade soup packed with veg!). I feel a bit fuller than normal but only have 220 calories left.

Tomorrow is another day!!

Thank you so much for this! Over the course of the week, bread wise I’ve eaten 4 rolls, I would normally do this in a day! Had a wine on Saturday but didn’t actually feel like it. Been having protein shakes as still wfh, steps are very low due to this. All in all, a decent week as I dropped 6lbs, just taken my 2nd jag

Radioundermypillow · 31/07/2025 08:31

They don't do this, certainly not in any supermarket that I use. Not sure where you've got this idea from. Milk contains lactose which is a natural sugar. Skimmed milk is naturally slightly higher in carbs. The only ingredients in Sainsbury's milk is milk, and the skimmed has 0.2 more sugar from carbs than full fat. It is also higher in protein.

So I finally beat my constipation. Weighed myself after and I've put on a pound! Feeling deflated (mentally and physically!)

Ist week done. 1lb off , not great but it's a start. Just done 2nd jab. Had bloating and constipation so bought flaxseed for morning smoothies to help .
Otherwise felt ok
