Hi - not sure I'll get many replies as most seem to be on Mounjaro. I started Wegovy last night. 0.25. Feel totally normal so far today. I am definitely not hungry but am not normally hungry in the am.

Sw - 13.5
1st gw - 12.4

If its like mounjaro, it can take upto 72hrs to feel a physical change eg on appetite suppression and feeling fuller. This is because the medication binds to receptors then causes the pancreas to produce more insulin, which all takes time. It also works in other ways to reduce systemic inflammation and to increase sensitivity to insulin and increase metabolism. Some people don't feel any different on the initial dose too. Keep going for now and drink plenty of water and try to increase your protein to minimise muscle loss on your journey.

Well, further on in the day and I feel as though I've been hit by a truck. Lightheaded, really tired and definitely not hungry, in fact I am forcing myself to eat and drink so that I dont faint!

Hello everyone I am jumping in to join the start July group.
Started Mounjaro at the end of June, and have now taken my fourth dose on Tuesday.
1st dose - had immediate appetite suppression and 'food noise' reduction after a few hours. Nausea started on second day then disappeared on third day. Suppression and reduction in food noise lasted until day 5.
2nd dose - again suppression and food noise reduction after a few hours and lasted until day 4, Nausea on day 2 and 5.
3rd dose - No appetite suppression and food noise reduction came and went throughout the week. I had no nausea at all.
4th dose - decided to up the dose to 3.75ml. Had appetite suppression and food noise reduction within a few hours and has carried on still on day 5. No nausea until last night and today.
I had lost 8lbs when I weighed myself on Tuesday.
I was very worried before I started about side effects, so far not to bad. Fingers and toes crossed

Radioundermypillow · 21/07/2025 08:37

Week 1 day 2 - nauseous. Off to buy porridge and mint tea.

Hello! Can I join?
I had my first 0.25mg Wegovy last Wednesday morning.

an hour after I took it I had a huge wave of nausea and since then it’s been more low-key. Felt very tired Wednesday night and more tired than usual Thursday night. completely went off coffee and it made me realise that my morning latte is probably a couple hundred calories that I don’t need.

The weekend was great - didn’t feel hungry at all, had very small, healthy meals, moved loads as it was so nice outside. Today, been feeling HUNGRY and eaten almost as much as normal :-/ so I guess it’s starting to wear off.

i weighed Sunday morning and down 2kg (around 4lbs) which is probably water weight mostly.

Am I able to take dose 2 a day early (I.e. tomorrow?) only downsides being that I just don’t want the hunger to come back on Sunday/ when it wears off when there is more chance I’ll snack etc.

Hi! Your experience sounds really similar to mine. Jabbed Sat night, I've had the odd wave of nausea, waves of tiredness. Gone off coffee. I'm trying to to move my jabs back a day so I can jab the day before my holiday, so this week planning a jab on Friday night.

Hello! Due to start wegovy tomorrow. Ordered on Friday and the first lot arrived Sunday. I've been putting it off but need to get going! Good luck ❤️

Radioundermypillow · 22/07/2025 09:58

Go for it @Mumof4fife

Day 3 and I feel pretty normal now. In the hairdressers and happy to refuse the free biscuits and have changed to a tea from my normal latte. No breakfast so far which is not that unusual for me.

I think by day 5 I will have to be using willpower along with the suppression which is fine by me.

If this medication stops a binge after day 10 of dieting it will be a game changer.

I'm on Wegovy too. I didn't have many side effects, just a noticeable loss of appetite - oh and some constipation. Main thing for me was that I felt ill if I ate anything sugary or drank alcohol. So I HAD to eat healthy stuff.

I started at last September at 14 stone. Just hit 11 stone yesterday. Good luck to you all.

Porridge is one of my staple foods nowadays. Also use the oats in Greek yoghurt. both with fruit. I cant really eat anything sweeter than fruit nowadays which is amazing considering I wouldn't eat one slice of cake but the whole cake

The idea of alcohol makes me feel sick which is good because my wine drinking was beginning to get a bit out of hand.

I'm going on holiday with my entire family in a few weeks. Only dh knows I'm jabbing - may have to drink the odd glass of wine to look normal!

I am the same. tbh always had a bit of an issue with alcohol. I drink occasionally now but can only drink a bit. I used to easily finish a bottle of wine. now I struggle with a couple of glasses. cocktails are a big no no too. when on hols Can only drink vodka soda with fresh fruit, nothing sugary.

It all helps!

Radioundermypillow · 22/07/2025 12:34

Had an egg on toast followed by one weetabix. Could eat more if im honest. Might have a bit of fruit then see how I feel.

Hello. I started on Monday too. I've not felt any effects yet though. On the contrary this morning I've been starving hungry and ended up snacking mid-morning. I'm hoping that I start to notice something in the next day or so. I'm also hoping that it will help me curb alcohol consumption. The empty calories in wine is one thing where my willpower is often lacking.

Have you had a drink yet? I found it didn't stop me wanting alcohol - it was more that once I started drinking I couldn't drink very much

My advice (if you want it!) is to serve your food out as you normally would. Then take half away and just eat half. you'll probably find that's enough. Good luck :)

I had some wine last night, felt the same as normal.

I don't want to stop drinking completely, but what you describe would be good. I have too much of a tendancy when drinking to want just one more glass.

Radioundermypillow · 23/07/2025 08:09

With some distance, I'm beginning to understand my relationship with food. I have a sort of anxiety about not eating enough, worrying that I'm going to have a hard day working and a long drive and get tired, so I need sugar and fuel to keep going. I also dont feel full straightaway, so can eat a huge bowl of pasta and then immediately eat bread or something else. Also my portion sizes were huge. It's quite a relief to be free of all that at least for a few months.

Woken up feeling quite normal, slept well, no nausea. A bit bunged up but reluctant to take anything as I have patients this afternoon. I feel remarkably clear headed.
Planning porridge this morning, then maybe a protein shake but then won't be able to eat again until 9pm so might have to take something with me - any tips on healthy portable snacks apart from nuts?

OP posts:
Plantladylover · 23/07/2025 09:12

Re snacks - not something you'd put in your pocket but I use fruit and oats with some greek yoghurt, mixed up and put in a container. Either with an ice pack or keep in fridge at work if you have access to one.

Radioundermypillow · 23/07/2025 11:20

I've bought a bottle of Huel 😏 not ideal but will be perfect for today.

Feeling almost completely normal today. I had porridge for breakfast and did feel super stuffed after. I feel clear headed and positive. I also weighed myself and I've lost 5lb since Sunday. My goal was 2/3lb a week so I'm a bit scared!

OP posts:
Plantladylover · 23/07/2025 12:21

Great to read you're feeling positive :) I forgot to mention I've been on anti anxiety drugs most of my adult life. When I started wegovy my anxiety reduced massively and I felt really positive. It wasn't due to weight loss as it was pretty immediate and I didn't drop pounds for a couple of weeks. I googled it and apparently many people have reported side effects of positive mental health on weogovy! Many people even saying they'd keep taking it just for positive mood even if they lost no weight. (interesting tho as people report the opposite on mounjaro)

Great news re weight loss for you. Don't be scared, it's pretty normal to lose more at first - if you have more to lose. It will start to balance out. I've only lost 10 pounds since January after losing over 2 stone in 2 months.

W1 D5
Tummy gurgling a lot this morning. Back to drinking coffee, but not using it as a way to cut my appetite like I used to. Could really do with a decent 💩!! Rather than rabbit poos.

Went to work yesterday and was working somewhere an hour and a half drive away. I always drink an energy drink on the way there as my shift is afternoon/evening. Yesterday I didn't even think about it, wasn't tired and was fine.
