Woohoo @Xmasfairy86 well done!

@Elsiedarlingputthekettleon you need to do resistance training and/or weight training to maintain and build muscle. Cardio is good for heart health and lots of stuff, but doesn’t really help with muscle.

I am doing weights 3-4 times a week and running (running went a bit off course when it was really hot!). There are loads of workouts on YouTube. I’m thinking of contacting a personal trainer, but only cause I have a heart condition so some weight exercises are not recommended.

i weighed agin this morning. And…

SW 88kg
CW 77.9 kg
GW 65-70kg

I have lost a full 10kg! And weird how much daily weighing shows fluctuations!

I'm measuring once a month @Elsiedarlingputthekettleon and it's so useful to see the numbers changing as I feel what looks back in the mirror doesn't change too drastically.

Love the NSVs 🔥 I'm back in a pair of shorts I breifly squeezed into on hols last year but now they fit nicely, there's a little space at the top of the thigh too, they're not straining the material like last time 🎉 I have a load of clothes in a bag that I used to love, thinking of trying those on when I hit my micro goal (2.8lbs to go!!)

Hurrah for going under the 100kg @Xmasfairy86 and hurrah for the onederland milestone @Seriestwo

Took my first 3.75mg dose Friday evening and so far no SEs, still early days but atleast my family day out yesterday wasn't spent on the toilet 🤣

@Booklover2021 a tyre makes it sound very impressive! I'm off now to google what weighs 15lbs so I can compare my loss to 'ordinary' things!!!

On to week 9 for me 💪

Sam187 · 27/07/2025 13:01

Hey all, hope we're all going well. Loving the NSVs and the mini targets being hit.

I'm W8 D6 but moving my jab forward to this evening, so that I can jab next Sat before heading to my partners family's home for the week on the Monday. Usually my jab day, but an 10hr drive down to Cornwall dictates moving it forward.

Today will be my 3rd 3.75mg, plan on staying at this for a little while I think. Had a little plateau over the last 2wks but had some busy and boozy weekends. 2lbs off this week, taking me to 24lbs in total is nice.

Does anyone use Zava or IQ doctor? They're looking the cheapest on Monj for 5mg and I don't fancy paying an extra £50 unnecessarily.

Catladyof7 · 27/07/2025 13:51

Does everyone use those swabs on their skin before doing the injection ?

The last twice i have been left with a small red rash where i have done the injection.
Wont be using them again on my skin , obviously dont agree with me.

I bought antiseptic wipes when I bought the syringes for golden dose and have had a red raised patch for my last three jabs. I meant to try without this week but forgot although I’m sure it’s what’s caused the red patch as I didn’t have them when I didn’t use the wipes.

I'll look out for these. Thank you, @Sam187

Can I ask you about this, @FoxRedPuppy?

I exercise most days, but it's mostly cardio. I only do body pump once a week.

I did look into it before I started jabbing, and I'm sure I read cardio helped with muscle too.
Was I wrong?
Might need to look into doing another body pump or two if so.

Yes, thats what i bought a box full and i used the one from Voy yesterday. Now have two raised red patches, one from last week and one from yesterday. Not going to use them again

Thats all good for younger people and people that live near and can afford Gyms and actually like doing stuff like that .

I am almost 69 , live in a small village with only one small supermarket.
Plus i couldnt think of anything i would like less than to do anything like that .
I would have to drive 15 miles each way at least and then go into a Gym full of a lot of pretentious people looking down on someone like me .

I have an old back injury anyway and i would hate to do weights , definitely not for me

Catladyof7 · 27/07/2025 14:37

I have many health problems and I have a heart condition too, maybe having a stent done at some point soon

Seriestwo · 27/07/2025 14:51

My face is, suddenly, thinner. And I have collar bones poking out the lard. I still have a massive gut, so my size 16s won’t fit, but I did get into a pair of 16 shorts with elastic waist so I will enjoy wearing those on holiday. I bought them in 1996. Goodness knows why I kept them.

Thornrose · 27/07/2025 15:04

Loving reading everyone's little wins and positive losses.

The 3.75 is definitely kicking in. I've lost my appetite and have the speedy feeling I get the day after a jab.

Other mild SE too, hopefully the weight will start dropping again this week.

Another 4 lbs and I'll be in the 13 stones which will give me so much joy 😊

No, they are to clean the red dot on the pen. My skin is clean enough for a teeny tiny needle prick to not cause infection.

To be fair my mum is 69 and she does resistance training. She has fibromyalgia and bad knees and an old back injury for a slipped and fused disc. She still makes sure she stays active.

I was specifically replying to someone who had asked about exercise. I appreciate it isn’t possible for everyone. I was supposed to be running the London marathon in April, until I had my 3rd heart attack in March! I don’t go to the gym, I hate gyms. I use a couple of weights at home and stuff on YouTube.

Even where it isn’t possible, it is absolutely the case that women over 40 should where possible to weight and resistance training to protect against muscle loss, bone density loss and osteoarthritis.

Moving 15kg bags of cat litter and cat food about is enough for me

I am not sure where i have lost my first stone from as still have a big spare tyre on my belly , i did think my face looked a bit thinner but its thighs and stomach i need to lose it from the most

Wk6 Day1
I woke up with bad headache this morning and achey belly. Had a cuppa protein bar and a litre of water. Had a nose bleed, ( this seems to be happening on and off) then head felt little bit better . Did my jab. Headache worse , belly felt yuk and had a few looser BM’s than usual .Took my 6th Mounjaro jab ( no change in dosage) , I have had no real SE’s so far in 5 wks on 2.5mg . I did eat some chicken kebab meat and salad from the takeaway last night but a small amount and I have eaten this before and been ok. Did eat 6 large squares of 70% dark chocolate which I haven’t been having , as I’ve been eating extremely clean . Really worried that this is now going to stay ( I have just slept for 4hrs and woke up with the runs again) this would be the SE I’ve dreaded the most . Or is it possibly the chocolate? I still have a headache and although I have jabbed this morning i did feel bad before the jab. Any advice is very welcome . Feeling panicky right now 😩. Anyone else have trigger foods and how long is is a problem for you? I have always had ibs-d and this stopped me for a year even trying MJ so I was absolutely amazed and grateful when it actually reversed it for me I’ve had 5 whole weeks of feeling normal. Now I’m scared it’s back 😢! Help !

healthjourney · 27/07/2025 16:26

@Elsiedarlingputthekettleon I do strength training from home with dumbells 2 or 3 times a week then aim for 10k steps each day. I've been doing both of these for a year now but it took me a while to feel that I had really embedded them as habits. I'm now a huge fan of weight training, it feels so good to focus of what my body can do rather than just thinking about what it looks like 💪

@Catladyof7 it is 100% your choice how and where you choose to exercise but there's no need to be rude about those that make different choices by saying all gym users are pretentious. Everyone is just trying to make the best choices for themselves.

Thanks. Have just started my 5mg pen yesterday . No SE so far with that dose either , long may it continue.

Don’t worry I would cut out the chocolate for a bit and carry on. Tomorrow is a new day!

SomethingAboutYou · 27/07/2025 18:04

@RussianDoll76 I had a couple of hours on Tuesday of terrible diarrhoea. Came out of the blue. I was in week 8, still on 2.5mg and had no previous issues at all. All through the journey I've eaten all sorts of foods, including takeaways, chocolate, crisps and alcohol (building them into my calorie intake) so that I don't feel restricted by my diet. So I'm not entirely sure what triggered Tuesday, aside from a pack of wotsits (but I have had wotsits before and not reacted so 🤷‍♀️). It lasted around 3 hours and then went away and hasn't returned yet. I slept for a couple of hours with exhaustion too.

Hopefully you'll be fine once this passes. Some people find sugar makes them react. But you may find that it's just one of those days. It's pretty rough going when it happens so hope you're feeling a bit better x

I DEFINITELY am going to change providers after the syringe fiasco.
Who's good (and cheap!)?

I am using Voy and i ask for a few extra needles , came next day . So does the medication. I have a code if you want it for £45 off first order if you want to send me a PM.
Also i have managed to negotiate a lower price on my second and third orders with them.
Even their bot is really good

SnackcidentProne · 27/07/2025 19:05

I’ve got my 5mg in the fridge ready. Used the golden dose on Wednesday measured to 3.75mg. Normally suppression has been easing by now on 2.5 but still going strong. I’ll see how next week goes but may drop it back down to 3.75 if suppression is too much.

FoxRedPuppy · 27/07/2025 19:35

@RatherTardy I have used Asda and Chemist 2 U both without issue. I’m going back to Asda for month 3 as similar price and good support. I did click and collect too so way to check for cold and needles.
