Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

@SussexLass87 that sounds exciting!
@Sallycinnamum that doesnt! Hope you feel better today.

I won't lie...I'm a bit excited about the ball. DH is away a LOT but it partly makes up for it when we get to get poshed up! 😄🙏

Morning all!

Made a mistake of eating something relatively rich last night and I am paying for it today. Bad stomach and feel very sick. Won't do that again!

Me too! Had an Indian, played reasonably safe with chicken tikka starter and some sag paneer but felt rough this morning. Also might have been the wine I had alongside it mind 😬 hope you feel better soon

Morning losers

Just weighed in and I'm under 16st for the first time in, well, a loooong time!

I've lost 1st 1lbs in 10 weeks.

Celebrating by cleaning the house and plucking, shaving, dyeing and tanning for my ball on Saturday 😄

Sending you all a bunch of love ❤️

Congratulations!!

tostaky · 03/07/2025 22:54

Congratulations to all who are seeing new numbers appearing on the scales! What a relief!
Tonight and friend let me go through some clithes she wanted to get rid of amd i ended up with 4 tops and one gym tshirt. Very happy, it’s like a bridging wardrobe until i lose more weight.

Finally i think i have found the sweet spot for me: 1.25mg every 4 days. That way i avoid the first few days of nausea and not eating but im still losing (albeit slowly).

Gingercar · 03/07/2025 23:25

Is there a golden dose at the end of the 5mg pen too if you take four 5mg doses? I’ve only taken the first one so far, but just wondered.

FlorenceNightshade · 04/07/2025 01:06

@Gingercar the extra dose is in every pen because they put a bit extra in for priming it. You should be able to extract something from every pen after using four doses, how much depends on how liberally you primed it in between!

Elle771 · 04/07/2025 06:21

Weigh in day and 1.5lbs off since same time last week... am irrationally disappointed 😅🙈
Had a few lower cal days unintentionally with work being busy etc so thought it would be more but I KNOW slow and steady is good just my illogical brain wants it to come off quicker 🙈

Anyway 6 weeks in and 1st 1lb down 🎊 if you told me that was possible 7 weeks ago I wouldn't have believed it so will stay positive

Mounjour · 04/07/2025 06:31

Weigh-in and 1lb off this week. 18lb in total. Increased dose to 3mg, my highest so far. Felt really nauseous and headed to bed. But of a headache this morning.

Fingers crossed for a good day everyone.

Seahorsesplendour · 04/07/2025 06:48

Morning everyone!!!

well done to those with losses of any amount @Elle771 reming yourself what 1lb of fat looks like!! You lost that & half again!!!!

I get the disappointment just wanted to remind you it’s a huge achievement!!! 🤗

3rd 5mg jab yesterday & nausea raiding its head this morning!! Hugely busy day at work too it’s going to be a long day!!!!

SutekhsEars · 04/07/2025 07:20

Morning losers. I've been wondering why my knees/hips/back have been aching so much for the past couple of months - surely with all the weight I've lost things should stop hurting..? I've only just remembered this is what it feels like when my shoes are worn down! Ordered some new fit flops last night and will wear trainers until they arrive. D'oh!

Cucumberinginplease · 04/07/2025 07:33

Morning all!
Congratulations on losses!
@SutekhsEarsI get that with shoes too! Always takes me a while to figure it out, I mean, I should know by now!

Weigh day for me, 2lb off. 1st 6lb I think to target. Judging be rate of loss, I should be there by early September 🎉

Busy weekend here. Chores today, including taking the eldest shopping after school then the Sabbath concert all day tomorrow! Very much looking forward to that!
Following on from the conundrum about eating at the last 2 concerts (the only offerings being chips and crap) I have meal replacement bars. They were happy with me taking them in last week so that's the plan. It's an all day thing, gates open at 11 so I'll dedinately need them!

Have a lovely day all, looking forward to seeing those losses! X

PandaIsMySpritAnimal · 04/07/2025 07:51

After 4 weeks of loosing about 1lbs a week, the scales finally moved slightly more this week (despite eating a bit more throughout the whole week..way too many social engagements and staying away with work).

Down 3.3lbs this week.
End of week 9 - Total loss 11.1kg / 24.5 lbs / 1.75 st

I keep saying this but I wish I started months ago...can't wait what my weight will be like around Christmas.
Still have about 30kg (66 lbs) to go

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 04/07/2025 07:58

8 weeks done here and 1st 10lb down. I have a lot more to go but really happy with the progress, can’t actually feel it yet in my clothes etc, hoping things feel looser soon.

After the horrible 5mg SE I gave decided to go back to 2.5mg for a couple of weeks as have holidays coming up and don’t want to spend them in the toilet! Then I’ll probably try 3.75mg for a bit.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn really sorry to hear about your knee, I am still recovering from ankle surgery earlier in the year and it’s not easy but less weight on our joints will definitely be a plus!

Bellee11 · 04/07/2025 08:00

6 weeks in and I've lost 10lb.
I've stuck to less than 1200 calories a day religiously but it's a slow process. Barely lost anything this week. Maybe I'm not drinking enough water? Any advice?

MrsCreek · 04/07/2025 08:10

Good morning everyone. I started this journey with my first jab on 11th May. I haven’t posted much but am following everyone’s progress!

I have jabbed 8 times so far, 2.5 x 4, 5 x4 and will start 7.5 on Sunday.

49 5’6”
SW: 220lbs
CW: 203lbs
TW: 175lbs (as a starter!)
SE: none that I have noticed!

I have felt a lot more hungry the last 2 weeks on 5mg, I definitely think I need to go up to 7.5mg. I have PT once a week where I do weights. But I really need to up my game and do more weights independently! I always feel so self conscious in the gym in case I am using the equipment wrong. I just follow what my PT says blindly and don’t seem to remember any of it Blush

I feel so much better about myself already. I hope this post helps someone who might be thinking about whether or not to take the plunge! Do it!

For me, protein really helps. I'm having a smoothie with added protein powder, fish at lunchtime and then a chicken/beef dinner. It seems an insane amount of meat to me, but it does help.

Kbr22 · 04/07/2025 08:38

Good Morning all, 7 weeks in last of my 5mg pen this morning but only lost 11 lbs or or 5.1kg since starting. I am still following 1250 kc a day but thinking this may not be enough, I don’t use the extra I earn from exercise, but I have had a few white wine spritzers during the warm weather. I do add these into my daily calories though. Do you think I need to eat more? I am seeing my Health provider on Tuesday for my next pen and think maybe I should go up to the next dose and see if that works. @DidILeaveTheGasOn so sorry about your injuries hope you feel better soon.

Went a bit off track this week, super stressed. Got half a week of work left before I finish and they've piled on new project work (?!) so I'm really feeling the pressure. Also had a horrendous period. The kids have also moved in with us full time rather than 50/50, which is lovely because I normally miss them dreadfully, but I do also like having a break. Trying to coax the solicitors involved with the house sale and purchase to actually do something, I've threatened them with cookies and puppies this week to rouse them from their stupor.

That's a big paragraph to say: the daily drinking has made a brief return. Capping it at two glasses of wine but I know it's 350cals a day extra that I just don't 'need'. I'm knackered and grizzly, like a teething toddler. The mortgage on this place has just gone off its fixed rate onto the wild west that is normal interest rates, costing me over £400 more this month.

I've just got stress coming out of my ears. I'm glad I didn't gain this week to be honest. Felt like I should have.

Apprenante · 04/07/2025 08:55

I am not happy.

Suppression is good, side effects are minimal. I'm eating a balanced diet, drinking loads of water, keeping to well under 1000 cals a day. (At 71, not specially active, and 5ft 2 it's enough!). I struggle to eat as much as that actually.

So why am I gaining? I'm obviously sticking with the plan and I know it will all work at some point but just for now I'm sad.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/07/2025 09:21

Ah, @Apprenante. I'm sorry. Can I offer a hug?

I've seen this a lot on a few of the WLI threads and it makes no sense to me and when I've been in that position in the past I'd just binge like heck.

I'm quite a logical person, my job is writing code to make x = y. I think WLIs are showing that either a) there are still many unknown variables yet to be determined when it comes to weight loss even with these medications, but eventually we'll be privy to the full formula and can achieve weightloss or maintenance by following it, or b) there is no formula and whilst we can exert some control/persuasion over loss and maintenance, it's still going to be this woolly, partially understood beast.

Further, the cynical part of my brain thinks even if the outcome is a), that knowledge won't be imparted to society as a whole because it's too profitable to sell all sorts of goods and services promising to be the magic bullet.

I shouldn't have lost a pound this week, let's take it off your total instead :) I'm keeping the wine though.

That's an absolute shit ton of life stuff piling up on you - no wonder you've needed a little treat.

Don't beat yourself up - we're all our own worst enemies at times.

I'm sorry - that's absolutely rubbish and just not fair when you're working so hard at things.

SussexLass87 · 04/07/2025 11:08

Just jabbed in the arm for the first time - I'd seen a couple of posts about it being more effective....so we shall see!

Blimey...contorting myself to jab my own arm was not fun 🤣

hottubsundays · 04/07/2025 11:09

@DidILeaveTheGasOn thats a lot 🤯 just keep going day by day!

after some great advice in here yesterday I ate loads of protein and drank more than normal yesterday and I lost a pound overnight so I clearly need to really look at what I’m eating and make sure I am drinking lots. Would definitely try it for anyone plateauing or gaining x
